I visited Hooraizen, which has always caught my eye and is located in the neighborhood. The retro atmosphere from the entrance was very promising. The interior tables and grills had a very nice feel. The menu was extensive and easy to understand with photos. This time, I ordered tongue salt, harami, top sirloin with wasabi soy sauce, hormone mix, stone pot cheese bibimbap, and Hooraizen salad. The tongue was thinly sliced and refreshing with lemon sauce, very delicious. The top sirloin, harami, and hormone mix looked beautiful, but the taste was average. The chef was kind and gave a detailed explanation on how to eat bibimbap, which was fun! Thank you for the meal!

I also like high-end yakiniku restaurants, but I've started to prefer the yakiniku at good old-fashioned shops like this one. The seseri (chicken neck) and tori nankotsu (chicken cartilage) were the best. I've come to like lighter cuts like hormone (offal) and chicken more than the fattier cuts like harami (skirt steak). Maybe it's my age.

On the 29th, I went to eat for the first time because it was Meat Day. They were distributing discount coupons on LINE. This time, I ordered a Kalbi tasting set, Hormone set, assorted Namul, and Black Oolong Tea Sour. We went around 10 pm, but there were a lot of customers, so we ended up sharing a table. The owner was considerate and gave us extra Namul and Kimchi. The food was delicious. However, the older ladies behind us were a bit noisy... one of them loudly commented on the lettuce saying, "That's a lot of lettuce!" I would like to go back again on Meat Day.

This is my second visit to this restaurant. They are open until morning and the staff are very friendly, making it one of my favorite places. The interior has a nostalgic atmosphere of an old-fashioned yakiniku restaurant, with a seasoned look but meticulously polished in every detail. Unlike the greasy image often associated with old yakiniku restaurants, this place is spotlessly clean and inviting! The meat is delicious too! I had the top sirloin with wasabi soy sauce, and the quality of the meat is excellent for the price! It's delicious! There are various condiments on the table for you to adjust the flavor to your liking. It's recommended to visit during late night hours when it's less crowded and you can enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace!

Late at night around 2:00 on a weekday... had some yakiniku for dinner. This place is a yakiniku restaurant I used to frequent about 20 years ago when I lived nearby. Back then, we often stayed until dawn drinking. It's been a while since I've been here, and unfortunately, I can't remember what I ordered or ate. This was the third stop of the night, so I was pretty drunk. However, it seems like I did take some photos. The food in the pictures is what I ate. I remember the yakiniku here being delicious from my past experiences. I used to love their sauce. The beef tongue and yukhoejang were also delicious. I'll visit again and write a review.

If you walk from Uguisudani, it takes about 6-7 minutes, and if you come from Hibiya Line Iriya Station, it's only 2-3 minutes away. The shop building has a pretty retro feel, but the inside is well cleaned and has a sense of cleanliness. The customers seemed to be mostly locals, but the place was quite busy even though it was 11 PM. I ordered the recommended loin, as well as the Korokoro Hormone, Harami, and Hormone Mix. I ordered modestly due to the time, but watching others around me eat was very tempting. The recommended loin was amazing! The amount of fat was perfect, not too light, just right. I could understand why it was recommended. The Hormone Mix included about 5 types, including tongue, all coated in sauce. This one was...hmm...decent. However, for the price, the quantity was sufficient, so ordering it wouldn't be a loss. It's a traditional yakiniku restaurant in the downtown area, with a friendly master who engaged in conversation and even served complimentary kimchi. The wife was also a lovely and cheerful person! If you're looking for a good taste and a down-to-earth atmosphere, be sure to try this place, even though Uguisudani-en is the go-to for yakiniku in the area.

A late-night yakiniku restaurant in the downtown area. Open on Sundays and holidays from 5 pm to 3 am, and on weekdays from 5 pm to 4 am. Located about a 5-minute walk from Uguisudani Station and Iriya Station on Kanasugi Street. I heard about Wabisuke Sushi Akira, "They stay open late and the food is delicious, Yoko-chan goes there often," so my partner and I decided to go around 10 pm on a weekday. There were no customers inside, a bit worrying... The interior had a retro atmosphere, but the friendly smile of the hostess put us at ease. When we asked, "What do you recommend?" she answered promptly and in a good mood. When I asked, "Can I take a photo?" she seemed happy and asked, "Are you going to post it somewhere?" which made me happy too. I was in the mood for a drink due to a busy day at work, so I had a 300ml bottle of Hakkaisan (1,580 yen) and my partner had a bottled beer (530 yen) for a toast! We enjoyed the following dishes: ★ Korean seaweed (complimentary) ★ Namul (complimentary) ★ Premium sirloin with wasabi soy sauce (1,680 yen) ★ Premium kalbi (1,790 yen) ★ Premium harami (1,520 yen) ★ Rolled hormone (680 yen) ★ Bibim noodles (950 yen) ★ Celery kimchi (530 yen) ★ Oolong highball (420 yen) ★ Hakkaisan 300ml (1,580 yen) ★ Bottled beer (530 yen) ★ Chocolate ice cream (420 yen) Overall, the portions were generous, and I think the cost performance is good. However, I was surprised by the amount of fat in the premium kalbi... at my age, that much fat is a bit tough (laughs). The rolled hormone was particularly enjoyable. It had a sweet miso flavor that was nostalgic and delicious. In Fukuoka, we have always eaten maruchiku in our home yakiniku... such a nostalgic taste. It's a calm yakiniku restaurant with a lot of keep bottles lined up and many local regulars, I assume. I was intrigued by the abalone porridge on the menu, so I definitely want to try it next time.

From Ochanomizu Station, head towards Asakusa on Iidabashi Street, turn onto Kanasugi Street, and you'll find an old-fashioned yakiniku restaurant around the first traffic light corner. The restaurant may not be stylish or fancy, but it has a charming atmosphere that exudes a sense of community. The owner, a friendly old man, provides great service and the place seems to be popular among locals, with many customers dining alone. It's hard to describe, but if you appreciate the charm of traditional neighborhoods, this is a place worth visiting. I went on August 29th, which happened to be "Meat Day," and they had a "Kalbi comparison" menu featuring Kalbi, Prime Kalbi, and Special Prime Kalbi for around 1500 yen – a surprising deal. The meat was delicious, with a good balance of flavor and not too greasy. We also enjoyed the rolled hormone, cold noodles, and kimchi. Overall, the food was tasty and not overwhelming. The kimchi had a nice tangy flavor that I liked. I recommend trying it out!

There is a slightly stylish shop on the old-fashioned Kanasugi Street. The tables inside the shop are separated by partitions, creating a calm atmosphere. We mainly enjoyed the meat dishes, with the average priced beef being decent. The tongue was a bit tough, the loin was quite normal but tasty, and the kalbi was delicious with a good amount of marbling and tenderness. Unfortunately, they were out of liver sashimi on that day, but shops that serve liver sashimi usually have fresh meat, so it's worth trying. We also ordered samgyetang, which had plenty of chicken and was of high quality. The seasoning was not too strong, making it a good choice even for beginners. It was delicious. This shop doesn't usually have long lines, but it can get crowded with locals depending on the time of day.

A little away from Uguisudani Station, there is a large yellow sign that stands out in the dim surroundings. When my two friends and I visited, it was not crowded, probably because it was late. We ordered various cuts of lean meat such as kalbi and loin, hormone mix, and a few side dishes. The lean meat was decent for the price, but the color was a bit dark and lacked vibrancy. It's best to let the meat sit for about an hour after cutting to enhance both appearance and flavor. The hormone mix was honestly not that great, possibly due to low demand or issues with freshness as there were many leftovers the next day. The side dishes were okay. Overall, it's just an average yakiniku restaurant.

Ogigaya Station and Iriya Station are both easily accessible. It is located on Kanasugi Street, just before the first traffic light on the right side. It has a local, cozy atmosphere, although it may be a bit intimidating to enter at first. I gathered my courage and entered the restaurant right at the start of dinner time at 5 pm, so there were no other customers at that time. However, by 6 pm, customers started coming in one after another! The friendly manager served us kimchi and other side dishes. While I usually prefer tongue salt, the galbi here was delicious! I also enjoyed the harami, as it allowed me to savor the flavor of the meat. The tegutan soup, which I always order at yakiniku restaurants, was to my liking as well! For those who prefer a sweeter taste, it may be different. The manager mentioned that the meat is sourced from a well-known high-end yakiniku restaurant, and after tasting it, I understood why. I have been to that other restaurant before, but the quality of the meat here was also outstanding!

This is a nostalgic yakiniku restaurant that is not well known to people outside the local area. However, it is highly regarded by locals and is always full of regular customers. The recommended dish is the kalbi. Even the regular kalbi is delicious, but if you splurge on the premium kalbi, you will definitely be satisfied! It goes perfectly with rice. The only downside is that it can get crowded on weekends. The staff is limited, so it may take a bit of time. Well, since everyone is a regular, it's not a big deal. Therefore, I recommend going on a quiet weekday for your first visit. You can enjoy it leisurely.

I visited the restaurant alone. [Atmosphere of the restaurant] The interior of the restaurant is like an old-fashioned yakiniku restaurant in the downtown area, and it seems that the owner is the only one handling the customer service. There is also a second floor, but I did not confirm it. The customers seem to be mostly local regulars. [Food this time] Kalbi and Rosu (short rib and loin) were ordered separately, but they were served on the same plate, so it was hard to tell which was which. The food was decently tasty, so it's recommended to visit with close friends rather than expecting a fancy experience, as it is not a sophisticated restaurant.

I had an urge to eat meat to boost my stamina for treating a cold, so I entered this restaurant. Upon entering, a friendly old man (probably the owner) warmly guided me to a seat. The restaurant had a slightly run-down feel, which may be inevitable. It would be nice if they could make it cleaner. The surprisingly friendly service might be hit or miss for some, but I quite liked it. I ordered: Kimchi assortment, Beef intestines - good, Pork salt - excellent, Beef tongue - disappointing, Short rib - slightly greasy, Upper skirt - good, Liver sashimi - excellent, Yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) - good, Cold noodles, and Tegutan noodles. I also received complimentary Korean seaweed. Overall, the food was decent for the price, but I know places where I can get tastier meat for the same price, so I might not return for the meat specifically. However, if you want to enjoy a casual Korean BBQ experience or try some Bibimbap, this place is recommended.

I passed by after a long time and they were selling bento boxes. It's been many years since I last saw this. I had the pork kimchi bento box. It's from the town's yakiniku restaurant. The service was polite.
