Sushizanmai in front of Kinshicho Station. I had the lunch chirashi during the open campaign of Tsukiji Taki Saburo in Ryogoku, and I remembered that I wanted to try the lunch here too. It's my first time visiting during the day, and it's quite crowded. Back in the day when I had money, I used to drink here at night too haha. It's nice that you can drink from lunchtime, so there aren't many salaryman-style customers during lunch. While other customers order the high-end Daimyo or Grand Menu sets, I went for the seafood bara chirashi for 1078 yen, which is displayed on the menu board outside. Hmm, there's a certain simplicity to it haha. There are various set meals with sashimi, grilled fish, simmered fish, all for the same price. It looks pretty good. I wonder if they got rid of the cheap lunches under 1000 yen that they used to have? Since I was sitting at the counter, I could see the chefs working hard, but it's a bit stressful to see my order being taken to other tables multiple times before finally coming to me. Finally, my order arrived with a chawanmushi first. It's small but quite tasty. Then came the chirashi bowl and miso soup. The chirashi bowl had a lot of salmon flakes and eggs standing out haha. Well, there was a mention of flakes on the menu board outside, but the overwhelming amount of flakes is almost devilish haha. Isn't the flakes listed as the top ingredient on the food label? The miso soup was just a regular one. I couldn't help but feel the gap between the high-end and common people haha. Despite my various comments, the sushi had a good amount of fresh and tasty toppings, including ikura, and with the option of free extra shari, I was quite satisfied. However, if I were to have lunch here again, I would probably go for the next level up like the "Kasumi" nigiri or the higher-end chirashi (both for 1628 yen) or even higher, and maybe order a lunch beer for 200 yen for a higher level of satisfaction. They accept card payments, but it seems they don't accept QR code payments.
