After a long time, I was excited to go to YELLOW, but when I arrived at the store, there was a notice of closure! I was shocked and stood there in front of the closed shop. It's been about two and a half years, and the food was so delicious. I wonder if it was tough because of the pandemic. It's a Soup Stock Tokyo chain, so I thought the business was doing fine. It's really disheartening. I was in the mood for curry, so I decided to go to Mumbai. It was my first time being guided to the second floor. There were lively group of Indian women having a tea time, creating quite a noisy atmosphere. I wish I had stayed on the first floor where there were other customers. But I didn't expect the second floor to be so spacious and beautifully decorated. I regret not experiencing that nice atmosphere. I ordered my usual Butter Chicken Curry set with a large serving for an additional 150 yen. I also ordered an iced chai. You can get a refill of naan. I had a small salad while waiting for the curry. The loud chatter of the Indian women never seemed to stop. I was the only solo customer, and I wondered if the noise didn't bother the others, or if they were too engrossed in their conversations to notice. I pondered various things while waiting, but once the curry and naan arrived, the deliciousness comforted me. It helped ease the shock of the closure and the annoyance of the noise. I focused on enjoying the delicious food. I was able to leave the restaurant feeling satisfied, despite the mixed feelings. Tawaraya, a miso ramen place I loved in Yotsuya, also closed down. It must be really tough for restaurants with the pandemic aftermath and zero-interest loan repayments. It's inevitable, but it's complicated. I hope the restaurants that provide delicious meals can continue to operate unchanged. Thank you for the meal.

It's 11:30 am on a regular day in Yotsuya. I visited Mumbai, a casual tea house on the first floor and a cozy Indian restaurant on the second floor. There were no customers yet. I ordered the daily special single curry set (beans and chicken) for 980 yen. I also ordered a Mango Lassi as a service with a coupon from Tabelog. The curry was spicy and delicious, with a strong flavor of spices. It might be too spicy for those who are not good with spicy food. The naan was freshly baked and chewy, so I asked for an extra half piece for free. The Mango Lassi served after the meal had a natural sweetness to it. By the time it was 12:30 pm, more customers started coming in, and by the time I left, the place was almost full. The cost performance is also good, so it must be popular. Thank you for the meal.

On the first floor there is a restaurant, and on the second floor there is a restaurant & tea house. Not knowing anything, I saw a sign saying "Free Refills on Chai" at the storefront and felt like taking a break, so I went in with a Doutor-like mood. When I ordered chai, I was told to go to the second floor. Once there, I saw a display of Indian sweets along with the chai, but since I didn't plan on staying long, I just stuck with the chai. The staff seemed unenthusiastic and lacking energy. Personally, I had the impression that Indian cuisine restaurants were all friendly, so I was a bit disappointed. However, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice. I recommend the tables by the window. The decor was stylish. The chai arrived, I added some sugar and took a sip. It was delicious. Just chai. I quickly asked for a refill. The unenthusiastic staff member responded well to the refill request, and when I was about to leave, they brought me a third cup. In the end, they were surprisingly kind. It seems like it's nice to have the chai with some sweets as a set, making it more like an afternoon tea experience. There is indeed an atmosphere suitable for that. I was just in a chai-only mood.

I had biryani for lunch on my day off! It came with a small curry as a set and was very delicious for 1,400 yen! There were a few customers in the restaurant, but I was served quickly. It was really delicious, so I would love to visit again!

Personally, my favorite point was that the staff would refill your chai whenever they had the chance. The taste may not be to everyone's liking as it is not tailored to Japanese preferences.

The interior is stylish and calming, with scenes from India playing on a monitor. Since I've never been to India, it feels quite fresh. I don't eat curry often, but the chicken curry I had was delicious, with tender chicken that made me happy. Despite the scorching heat outside, sipping on a mango lassi made me feel motivated to keep going.

Mumbai Indian cuisine. I thought the Yotsuya branch had been renovated to have an India Tea House on the first floor and Mumbai on the second floor, but when I went there looking for the Tea House, I was guided to the second floor instead. When I asked about the Tea House, they said, "Same menu." Going up to the second floor, I found a casual yet cozy atmosphere. It was a space where even those who are not fond of the unique atmosphere of Indian restaurants could relax, and indeed there were many groups of Japanese women and couples. The Tea House menu had various mitai (sweets) from India. The Mumbai menu had a variety of curries and appetizers. Among them, I found the Lotus Root Keema. This was an interesting dish where keema curry was sandwiched between lotus root slices and made into pakoras. The lotus root was like the Indian version of tempura. The taste was as expected, and I couldn't help but smile at how good it was as an appetizer. Originally, I went for the chai and mitai purpose, so I stayed true to my initial plan and ordered the Kulfi. It was served in small ball-shaped portions, and sometimes Kulfi can be difficult to eat, but this one was easy to eat and had a good taste. The chai was also delicious. This Indian restaurant was versatile, suitable for ordering light snacks, full meals, alcohol, tea, and overall, it was a wonderful place. I thought it truly lived up to its name, Mumbai.

There were two options available, and we chose the smaller one. In this Indian afternoon tea, you can choose 3 types of Indian sweets per person, so we selected 6 types and split them all. It was nice that the sweets were clearly explained, including the level of sweetness and what ingredients were used. The chai was served in small glasses and was hot with a hint of sweetness, which paired well with the sweet treats. They kept refilling the chai as it got low, so I lost count of how many cups I had (laughs). The top tier had savory items like samosas, which balanced out the sweetness of the treats. They also provided 3 types of sauces, including mint and spicy, for variety. Looking around, I noticed that those who ordered the larger afternoon tea seemed to leave a lot on their tables, so it might be best to go with an empty stomach. We ended up chatting and drinking chai for almost 3 hours. It was a delightful day.

However, it wasn't too heavy, and I could eat a good amount (unlike other places where I feel quite full halfway through).
