I usually only do it on weekdays and it's quite a high hurdle... When I stayed at Andaz Tokyo, they had Kiyano Senbei and the wasabi rice crackers were so delicious that I had to buy them. The tingling sensation of wasabi is incredibly delicious!

A shop in Toranomon that sells rice crackers and snacks. They have a wide variety of rice crackers and snacks lined up in the store, but I heard that there are special snacks unique to Toranomon. When I asked about it, they said they have "Torano Senbei" available, although it often sells out. I bought it and it turned out to be soy sauce-based rice crackers with seaweed on top, and the seaweed has a tiger pattern printed on it. I brought it as a souvenir and it was well received because the rice crackers and seaweed were of high quality, and the tiger pattern was interesting, making it a good souvenir.

I stayed at both Andaz Tokyo and The Okura Tokyo in Toranomon Hills. Both hotels provided Kiyabrand rice crackers in the guest rooms. At Andaz Tokyo, there was a lounge for guests with a selection of snacks, including small curry-flavored rice crackers during the day and two types of Kiyabrand fried mochi (salt and soy sauce) during cocktail time. I particularly enjoyed the fried mochi. The Okura Tokyo also had Kiyabrand rice crackers in the guest rooms for purchase. After checking out of The Okura, I walked to the Kiyabrand store near Toranomon Station. The store was small and old, with no customers inside. The elderly lady served behind the counter while the elderly man sat hunched over at the register. I bought the curry-flavored rice crackers that I had tried at Andaz Tokyo, along with some similar ones and a popular item called "Oniheitou" rice crackers. The lady read out the prices one by one, and the man rang them up at the register. There was a sign saying bags cost extra, but I was not charged for the bag. They put the items in a plastic bag, likely for free. They didn't even ask if I had my own bag. I was curious about the "Oniheitou" rice crackers - they were quite thick, the thickest I've ever had, but surprisingly light and not greasy. I can see why they are popular. The small rice crackers were individually wrapped, making them a classy snack. Kiyabrand seems to be popular as a souvenir. If you receive these as a gift, you would think the giver has good taste.

In a back alley in Toranomon, a sign caught my eye with blue background and white letters that read "arare senbei". Inside the tiled shop, there were bags of arare and senbei lined up. Without much expectation, I bought a "hana tori senbei" similar to the "norio kaki" I loved as a child (367 yen). When I brought it home and took a bite, it was crispy! A satisfying sound! Unlike the dull sound of store-bought senbei that only focus on taste. Before I knew it, I had devoured it all in one go!

Tucked away in Toranomon is the long-established rice cracker shop "Kiya". This shop is only open on weekdays, so it may be a bit challenging to visit. I received a rice cracker as a gift from my subordinate on my first day back at work on January 4th. I knew there was a rice cracker shop in the area, but I didn't know they had rice crackers with zodiac animal designs. When I looked it up on Tabelog, I found out that the "Tora Senbei" costs 540 yen per piece, and the "Tiger and Friend Design Senbei" costs 260 yen per piece, so they are a bit pricey for rice crackers. Since they are related to the zodiac, I decided to display them at home for a while and enjoy them later. They have a striking appearance, so they might make for an interesting conversation piece.

◆Tiger Senbei (rice crackers) 500 yen (excluding tax) A thick soy sauce-flavored senbei with a large size and a crunchy texture. The seaweed with a printed tiger image is crispy. ◆Tiger Friend Design Senbei Miso Flavor 360 yen (excluding tax) A pack of 2 individually wrapped miso-flavored senbei. The package notes that they are moist but not humid, so I was expecting a soft texture like wet senbei, but they are actually firm and crunchy rice crackers. Although the ingredients include chili pepper, they are not spicy. The miso flavor is not overpowering, with a mix of soy sauce and miso. This one has a tiger face pattern. The expiration date is approximately 5 months after the purchase date. These tiger-patterned senbei from Toranomon make a great little New Year's gift. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead.

It is just a very ordinary rice cracker, but the ingredients and flavors are unique and I might like it. I enjoyed the wasabi-flavored edamame that was placed as a tea snack in the Grand Hyatt room. The spicy kick of wasabi is irresistible. The yuzu-zarame is also good, with the perfect balance of saltiness in the rice cracker and sweetness in the zarame. Thank you for the meal!

The traditional shop had a variety of rice crackers and senbei lined up. While choosing souvenirs, I also bought these cute leaf-shaped snacks for myself. Leaf-shaped rice crackers for 238 yen (tax included). As a bonus, the shopkeeper gave me some black sesame senbei. It's always nice to receive a bonus. It's an interesting city where nostalgic shops coexist with ultra-modern buildings. The leaf-shaped snacks come in flavors like sesame, seaweed, shichimi, and a refreshing soy sauce with a hint of fragrant sansho pepper. There's also crispy kelp occasionally mixed in! Oh, I remember that! It's been a while since I've had it! The black sesame senbei I got as a bonus had a strong sesame flavor and was a simple and delicious rice cracker with a nostalgic taste!

Located about 100m southeast from the Toranomon intersection, there is a "rice cracker-based Japanese confectionery shop". After lunch, I stopped by upon hearing they had marshmallows. Three types of marshmallows were displayed on the counter. If you buy them loose, you don't need to pay for the box, and they provide free environmentally-friendly paper bags for takeout. I purchased three types of marshmallows for 165 yen each (excluding tax). The receipt indicated they were half-baked confections. The marshmallows were shaped like cute tiger cubs and filled with strawberry jam, custard cream, and chocolate. I got three of them as a dessert. The strawberry jam one is called "Red Tiger Marshmallow", the custard cream one is "Yellow Tiger Marshmallow", and the chocolate one is "White Tiger Marshmallow". They are produced by a marshmallow specialist company in Osaka. It seems you can also place orders for various types of marshmallows here. The strawberry jam tasted just like the ones from the Showa era.

First Visit 202011 (No.2206) This time, I stopped by at Toranomon Hills to gather some material, but I visited this place to kill time before the lunch restaurants opened. This shop has over 60 years of history and specializes in "okaki" and "arare" (Japanese rice crackers). Their unique blend of dashi-based flavors, using organic rice "Miyakogane" from Miyagi prefecture, organic soy sauce made from whole organic soybeans, and natural sea salt, is distinctive. I tried the Corn Brown Rice Crackers for 238 yen, which had a simple flavor with the light sweetness of corn. They also have a product called "Tora Senbei" inspired by Toranomon, which seems to be Instagram-worthy. I will definitely visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

As a gift option, I did some research. The place is right near the B6 exit of Toranomon Station. I bought ◆ Toranoko Marshmallow for 165 yen (including 8% tax). It's from a senbei shop, but I chose Toranoko Marshmallow as a snack gift for the workplace because it doesn't smell, make noise, is easy to eat, looks cute, and has an affordable price. The marshmallow is about the size of two large marshmallows, and it looks like a cute two-dimensional tiger cub. Marshmallows can be a divisive food, but this one is less difficult to eat than the marshmallows of the Showa era, which I also don't like. Inside the white tiger is chocolate cream, inside the yellow tiger is custard cream, and inside the pink tiger is strawberry jam. The cream is not packed in like in a cream puff, but rather serves as a subtle accent to the marshmallow, which is the main focus. There was a sign on the exterior wall saying "Sorry for the wait," so this product may not always be available. If you find it, it's worth buying. Expiration date: About 2 months from the purchase date. Storage method: Store at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.

I found this small rice cracker shop on my way to lunch at Anders. Even though it was a small shop, I decided to go in because I saw they also sold some sweets. Despite there being many staff members for such a small shop, I felt a bit awkward being the only customer. However, they were all very friendly and I was able to take my time choosing. I was interested in their offerings of Mizuyokan, Yokan, and sweets, but I didn't want to carry too much. Then I found something amazing called Coffee Zenzai and bought it immediately. It was a rich and firm coffee jelly with sweet Zenzai inside, and I felt very satisfied with it despite its small size. It's not a place I visit often, but I definitely want to go back to buy more!

This is a long-established rice cracker shop in Toranomon 1-chome with a history of over 70 years. They carefully select ingredients for their rice crackers and sweets, making it convenient for personal use as well as for gifts. The shop is small, but they offer a wide variety of products from classic to creative sweets. Every November, they hold a "thanksgiving festival" where the popular "rice cracker grabbing" event takes place. I visited during the day and saw a sign saying "'Torotomo Senbei' is now available" outside the shop. According to the shop owner, "Torotomo Senbei" is a limited edition product that is only available when it's ready. They also have seasonal sweets that are limited edition. I purchased the following items (prices are excluding tax): - Torotomo design rice crackers: Approximately 8.2cm in diameter, these rice crackers have a comical illustration with nori (seaweed) on top, available in soy sauce or miso flavor. They are sold in a pack of 2 and have a shelf life of about 5 months. The touch of the illustrations is delicate and almost too cute to eat. The ingredients include domestic rice, nori, soy sauce (including soybeans and wheat), chili pepper, miso, egg white, sugar, eggshell calcium powder, milk calcium, starch, honey, mirin, salt, seasoning (amino acids, etc.). Soy sauce flavor and chili pepper flavor (2 pieces, 240 yen), Miso flavor (2 pieces, 360 yen). - Organic Spicy Persimmon Seeds: 110g for 550 yen. I liked that it is free of synthetic additives. It is quite spicy and has a shelf life of about 5 months. The ingredients include organic glutinous rice, chili pepper, soy sauce (domestic soybeans, domestic wheat). I love rice crackers, so I will definitely visit again.

I used to buy the "Egg Cracker" from this rice cracker shop, which has been around for a long time. It looks like "Jagariko," with a smooth surface and a long shape, but it is hollow inside. Not many people know about this snack because it is from the past, so sales were poor and they stopped making it. Today, I passed by this shop at lunchtime and saw a small line of about 10 people, similar to the big thanksgiving event I encountered a few years ago. For just 100 yen, you can reach into a box with a round hole and scoop out the crackers. If you have small hands, the shop owner will add 2-3 extra crackers for you. I stretched out my large hands and managed to grab 10 crackers, with the owner adding 2 more for me. It was a lucky anniversary day, especially since I was ranked first in today's horoscope. The types of rice crackers I bought were: 1) Fried Rice Crackers x 3 bags - I like the fried rice crackers from Azabu-Juban's Mamegen, so I often buy them. 2) Curry Denroku Mame x 1 bag - A classic with peanuts inside and a unique curry flavor. 3) Wasabi Rice Crackers x 2 bags - Lightly fried in oil and slightly greenish from the wasabi. 4) Shinagawa Roll x 1 bag - A nostalgic choice, often eaten at the movies. 5) Baked Crab Rice Crackers x 1 bag - Crab-flavored and enjoyable. 6) Shrimp Senbei x 1 bag - Light and tastes of shrimp. 7) Sesame Rice Crackers x 1 bag - Love the aroma of sesame. 8) Hard Baked Rice Crackers x 2 bags - Nothing special about these.

As a fan of rice crackers, I always feel like going into a rice cracker shop when I see one. Today, I decided to step into this rice cracker shop in Toranomon. It seemed like an established shop, but I couldn't see the workshop from the first floor where they sell the rice crackers. I bought some Edo-style rice crackers. Each bag contained about twenty individual rice crackers, including seaweed-wrapped ones, matcha-flavored ones, sesame rice crackers, and green tea ones. It felt like a good deal. The rice crackers had a crispy texture and were delicious.

There must be a delicious senbei shop in everyone's hometown that has been around for a long time. This shop is one of them. The senbei here has a crispiness that is better than the ones in my hometown. It's crispy. The ones in my area are more crunchy or crispy. They are delicious too, but this shop's senbei is more crispy. It's refreshing, to say the least. This shop is definitely a delicious senbei shop.

Near the Toranomon intersection, behind the Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, there is a traditional Japanese sweets shop. Their main products are rice crackers and roasted rice snacks, but during this time of year, transitioning from summer to autumn, they offer a variety of items such as jellies and marshmallows shaped like moon-viewing dumplings. I purchased the highly recommended "Coffee Jelly with Red Beans" (tax included @206 yen) as indicated on the sign outside the shop. The jelly is extremely sweet, and inside you'll find chewy red beans that may give the impression of coffee beans. It may not be suitable for those who prefer black coffee, but it is recommended for those with a sweet tooth.
