The nearest station is located between Karasuma Oike Station and Kyoto City Hall Station on the Kyoto Subway Tozai Line, along Sanjo Street. This chocolate shop has a cafe on the second floor and was featured in the drama "Dr. Chocolate" for its exclusive products only available at the Kyoto branch. I visited during the last day of the Gion Festival, around 2:00 pm, and luckily found a seat without waiting. By 2:30 pm, the cafe was already full. The interior of the shop is designed in a traditional Kyoto townhouse style with a warm atmosphere where you can glimpse the shop on the first floor from the second floor. - Matcha x Bitter Chocolate Shaved Ice: 1,540 yen - Chocolat Noir: 1,210 yen (tax included) The shaved ice includes white dumplings, red beans, orange compote, bitter chocolate ice cream, matcha ice cream, custard cream, topped with fluffy shaved ice, matcha syrup, matcha cream, strawberries, and flowers. The appearance is of matcha shaved ice with strawberries, but as you eat, new flavors emerge, adding to the excitement. The Chocolat Noir is a smooth, rich chocolate cake made with Bel Amer's original chocolate. It is served with a soft sweet anglaise sauce, seasonal fruits, and ice cream. The chocolate has a balanced bitterness, creating a sophisticated and decadent taste that doesn't melt too quickly. And of course, on the way out, I bought the "Dr. Chocolate" signature chocolate as a souvenir.

I went to a lovely cafe and tried the buckwheat and cocoa galette. The galette was made with cocoa dough and topped with lots of vegetables and prosciutto, with a sunny-side-up egg in the middle. It was really delicious.

Recently, it seems like afternoon tea is available at many places. I made a reservation at the café on the second floor. The traditional three-tiered set with tea and sweets. Being a chocolate specialty shop, the truffles and cakes in the middle tier were rich in chocolate flavor (thank goodness for the tea). The eye-catching lemon-shaped mousse cake on the top tier was incredibly sour (again, thank goodness for the tea). Thank you for the feast~♪

Just a short walk from Karasuma Oike Station! I had been wanting to visit Belle Ameille Kyoto Bettei, a place I had seen on Instagram with the cutest sweets. I was initially drawn to their parfait, but the Lemon Afternoon Tea on their current menu was too cute to resist, so I made a reservation and went there. I reserved around 11 am and we were the only customers. Maybe because it was a weekday? It was great that we could take photos freely (*^▽^*). First, the lemon. The outside was coated with a refreshing sweet and sour lemon flavor, while the inside tasted like a rare cheesecake, but more like white chocolate. It also had the scent of pear〜!! (*゚∀゚*) The lemon jelly inside was quite sour. Next, the second tier had a moist chocolate cake with a hint of orange flavor, and the terrine was rich and addictive〜(о´∀`о) One piece wasn't enough. Being a high-end chocolate shop, the aftertaste was refreshing! It didn't leave a sticky feeling in the mouth, so it was really good. The Bonbon Chocolat seems to change randomly? Unlike other people's photos, mine had pistachio and salted caramel. The salted caramel chocolate was particularly delicious. The crunchy salt texture combined with the caramel's great flavor and the bitter chocolate. The pistachio had a nice aroma that lingered in the nose, with a mellow taste of milk and white chocolate〜. The macaron had a crispy, light meringue-like texture, not the usual moist one. And the savory items. I like sandwiches, but the quiche on a Danish pastry with bacon and cheese, which was light and sweet like a dessert, was my favorite. With such a luxurious and delicious set for only 3300 yen per person including a drink, I think it's a great deal! Other places charge more for similar quality. The flavors were particularly delicious, so I would love to go back when the menu changes♪

I received a box of my favorite Bel Amer Saya Chocolat. The motifs of balls, flowers, and other symbols of Japan are so beautiful and make me feel happy just looking at them. The chocolates were made with ganache, caramel, and praline, and had a luxurious, delicate, and elegant taste. The flavors included pistachio, matcha, black sesame, and strawberry. They looked gorgeous, had a nice cocoa aroma, and a smooth texture. They would make a great small gift. The design of the box is also lovely, so I will keep it even after finishing the chocolates.

"Bel Amer Kyoto Annex" is a chocolate specialty store that was born in 2003. The name comes from French, with "Bel" meaning beautiful and "Amer" meaning bitterness, fitting for a store known for its bitter cocoa flavors and unique Kyoto-style chocolates. One popular item is the "Mizuhonoshizuku," a delicate chocolate resembling a cherry blossom bud filled with Japanese ingredients in jelly. Foreign tourists were amazed by this creation. Additionally, the store offers cute stick chocolates that are both adorable and delicious, with a fruity taste like ice candy. The design is so charming that it's hard to resist buying them. I purchased an assortment set with 2 stick chocolates and 6 Mizuhonoshizuku chocolates. The set includes flavors like black sugar kinako, Japanese black tea, hojicha, and more. The chocolates were not only cute but also tasty, showcasing the high level of Japanese chocolatiers. The store also has a chocolate bar on the second floor, where you can enjoy desserts and seasonal treats. Overall, it was a wonderful experience at this charming store in Kyoto, and I believe the chocolates would make a perfect gift for my foreign friends.

I purchased delicious chocolates at the popular chocolatier, Bel Amer Kyoto Bettei, near Karasuma Oike Station. Stick Chocolat Assortment L 3024 yen tax included. Stick Chocolat [Brown Sugar Kinako] Milk chocolate with brown sugar flavor, kinako, almonds, and corn flakes. Stick Chocolat [Japanese Black Tea] Chocolate with Japanese black tea caramel flavor and hazelnut praline. Hojicha [from Ehime Prefecture]. Kinshi Masamune [Kinshi Masamune]. Apple [from Aomori Prefecture] & domestic honey. Matcha [from Kyoto Prefecture]. Hanaraku [from Shotaikai Brewery]. Peach [from Yamanashi Prefecture] & domestic honey. The appearance is beautiful and they taste delicious. The second floor seems to be a chocolate bar, and it was full of tourists with a line forming. It seems like the chocolate soft serve ice cream would be good for the upcoming season, so I recommend it. Thank you for the meal.

It was very delicious. I ordered a parfait and a smoothie. Both looked great and tasted very refined. Definitely a shop worth revisiting. The atmosphere is nice and I think it's a place that locals and tourists alike would enjoy. There are lots of delicious sweets for sale on the first floor, which is great. Next time, I'd like to try the afternoon tea!

It didn't suit my taste. This is my personal opinion, so please forgive me if it seems biased. The caramel and chocolate flavors were completely separate, and the caramel was overpowering. I thought the change in passion fruit scent was interesting, but the caramel was too dominant. The presentation, including the wrapping, was well done, typical of Kyoto perhaps?

I went around 11 o'clock on a holiday without knowing how crowded it would be since I couldn't make a reservation. There was only one group of customers before us, so we were able to get a window seat by going early. It started to get crowded around 12 o'clock, so I recommend going a little early on holidays! We shared one set for two people, which cost 6600 yen in total (3300 yen per person). The portion was a bit generous, and the taste was very delicious, making us very satisfied! The apple cake was very cute! Afternoon tea where you can try various types of cakes in small portions is truly a bliss. The drink options are limited to black tea or coffee, so there isn't much excitement there, but the price is reasonable. Since the contents of the cakes may vary depending on the season, I would like to go again. ♡

This is a Western confectionery store located in Kyoto city. It is a chocolate brand born to send out the traditions and rich internationality of the town of Kyoto to the world. They offer a variety of chocolates that capture the good ingredients, techniques, and seasons of Japan. The store, utilizing a charming traditional townhouse, offers carefully crafted chocolates and baked goods. In addition, on the second floor, there is a "Chocolate Bar" where you can enjoy seasonal limited desserts such as surprising dessert platters and chocolate shows. The "Mizuho no Shizuku Assortment 10 pieces ¥3,240 (tax included)" is a specialty item featuring chocolates designed to look like masu (wooden sake cups) filled with carefully selected Japanese ingredients in jelly form. It includes three categories: "Sake" made with sake rice "Iwai" from Kyoto, "Tea" made with various teas from different regions of Japan, and "Japanese Fruit and Honey" made with fruits and domestic honey. You can enjoy a selection of 10 pieces with a fresh jelly and chocolate marriage. This series is probably only available at "Kyoto Bettei". Additionally, there is a more affordable option available with the "Mizuho no Shizuku Japanese Fruit and Honey 5 pieces ¥1,728".

I visited the 'Bel Amer Kyoto Bettei' for the first time, which is a shop known for its chocolates and pastries. The cafe is located on the second floor of a renovated traditional townhouse on Sanjo Street. I ordered the 'Matcha and Chocolate Parfait' and my friend ordered the 'Strawberry Chocolate Berry Parfait' with coffee. The parfaits were beautifully presented in clear glasses, resembling terrariums. However, despite the visual appeal, the parfaits lacked a cohesive taste experience. The layers were not well integrated, making it difficult to enjoy. Overall, while the chocolates from Bel Amer are always a favorite, the parfaits at the cafe did not meet our expectations. The experience was disappointing, and I may not visit the cafe again in the future. The total bill came to 3,630 yen, including tax.

Their stick chocolates, shaped like ice candy, make for a perfect Valentine's gift for my colleagues at work this year. The packaging is elegant and easy to distribute. The flavors include matcha, Amaou strawberry, Mont Blanc, Red Fuji apple, black honey, and kinako.

When I visited Kyoto, I stopped by a cafe that seemed to be very famous and was bustling with customers. The first floor was a chocolate shop with a lovely display of cute chocolates. There were mostly female customers. This time, I used the second floor as a cafe. - Fondant Chocolat: As expected from a shop famous for chocolate, it had a rich and deep flavor. The fondant was gooey, and the moment it overflowed when cut with a fork was irresistible. The chocolate used in the ice cream also contained alcohol, leaving a lingering aftertaste and aroma. - Strawberry Parfait: A visually appealing parfait popular among women. It was served in a wine glass, adding to the excitement of eating it. Inside, there were raspberry ice cream, unique textured chocolates, and strawberry jam. It's not just delicious, but also impressive. Kyoto has so many wonderful shops, so I must come back again. Thank you for the meal.

Started from the traditional and internationally rich city of Kyoto, the chocolate specialty store "Bel Amer Kyoto Bettei" @belamer_official was a first-time visit for me, despite having gifted their products many times before. The Fondant Chocolat and curry were both rich in cocoa flavors! The chocolate and Sichuan pepper, Kyoto vegetables Japanese-style curry was priced at 1,650 yen (1,500 yen excluding tax). It features a special curry with Bel Amer original couverture, flavored with Sichuan pepper and Kyoto vegetables. Roast beef, cocoa oil, and Sichuan pepper are added as accents. The Fondant Chocolat - Smoked was priced at 1,320 yen (1,200 yen excluding tax) and was a meltingly rich dessert. Opening the lid in front of you, the aroma of smoked flavor fills the air, making it a unique sweet treat. Caramel mousse, chocolate ice cream, and honey port sauce added to the happiness. The curry with the collaboration of cocoa, Sichuan pepper, and spices, and the Fondant Chocolat with its rich and creamy chocolate were both delicious. The name "Bel Amer" comes from French, meaning "beautiful bitterness," representing the characteristic of chocolate - beautiful bitterness. Through chocolate, they deliver happiness and surprises, connecting Japan and the world with their chocolate. The brand started in Kyoto's Sanjo area and expresses the beauty of the seasons and unique Japanese events through chocolate. The visually appealing and vibrant chocolates are cute and elegant. The stick chocolate, resembling an ice candy, was also very cute.

I met up with a friend at this cafe before lunch. It was a bit earlier than lunchtime so it wasn't crowded, which was nice. They had a variety of options like parfaits, dessert plates, and chocolate drinks, but I decided to try the hot chocolate since it's something I don't usually have at home or at cake shops. It was my third time having hot chocolate in my life, after trying it at Maribel and City Bakery. I felt that Maribel's hot chocolate was richer, but this one was easier to drink. When you order a drink, they also give you a bonbon chocolate that pairs with the drink. The cafe space is only on the second floor and you have to take the stairs, but it wasn't crowded so I could relax and take my time.
