I have used this place several times. There are many regular customers at the counter. I like the oden. The atmosphere is calm and it's a good place to relax and have a drink slowly.

When it comes to oden in Shimotakaido, this is the place to go. In the summer, they also serve cold oden, showing their love for this dish. Rolling the daikon soaked in broth in your mouth will surely make you feel happy. Their sashimi and grilled fish dishes are delicious, especially the Saikyo-yaki. The overall taste is elegant, and many dishes pair well with sake. The main seating is at the counter, with a few table seats in the back. The restaurant is located a short walk from Shimotakaido Station, heading towards Nihon University, turning left at the corner of Origin Bento and going down the hill on the right. Had dinner with my senior colleague, "Sensei," at Shimotakaido. Although it's a familiar area, there are still many unexplored stores, so we decided to visit this place to discover a new restaurant. It's been a while since I had KIRIN. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was quite calm, with a counter that can seat about 10 people and two 4-seater tables. We ordered a variety of oden dishes. The broth was dark, more like Kanto-style. They were all delicious, although nothing particularly outstanding. We also ordered a dashimaki tamago, which was cooked after we placed the order and tasted great. We then added some nameko mushrooms. These went really well with beer. Everything was tasty, but nothing exceptional. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also pleasant, making it a convenient place to visit.

I got off at Shimotakaido Station on the Setagaya Line and walked a little towards Matsubara. There is a restaurant nearby called Kuitei. I entered the restaurant around 19:40. First, a complimentary dish was served. I was asked about my drink order, but I declined. I'm not the type to drink alone, sorry. After pondering the menu for a while, I ordered fish balls (277 yen) and tender simmered pork belly (277 yen). The oden arrived after about 10 minutes. I paid in cash. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This izakaya sells takeout items in a self-service style at the storefront. They offer simmered dishes and oden in packed containers for 600 yen each. Customers can pay with Setapay or cash by putting it in a box. If you don't have exact change, you can pay at the store. I paid 1000 yen, got change back, and took the oden home. The broth looked spicy at first glance. Even the konjac had a strong flavor. However, the taste was good and went well with alcohol. The eggs, ganmo, chikuwa, and daikon were all seasoned heavily.
