Today's lunch was in Tsukishima. The site is known for its Monja Street, so I wanted to have some Mochi Cheese Mentaiko Monja with a drink. However, I resisted the temptation and went to this place instead. The menu here is quite varied, with plenty of side dishes and drinks available. I couldn't help but salivate when I ordered the Ginger Pork Set Meal. The person next to me ordered the Large Pork Cutlet Bowl and the Large Cutlet Bowl, which looked very filling. Is the bowl dish here a specialty? When the dishes arrived, the pork was delicious and there was an interesting pasta side dish mixed with spicy mayonnaise. Next time, I will definitely go for the Large Cutlet Bowl without hesitation. Thank you for the meal!

Platto, today's lunch was a stroll around Tsukishima Station. Exiting from Exit 7 of the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line Tsukishima Station, I walked a little towards Kachidoki (from Ichiban Street to Yonban Street) on the main passage, Tsukishima Monja Street (Tsukishima Nishi Nakadori), and on the right hand side, I visited "Miyoshiya" which is currently operating in a temporary store. I entered the store at 12:55 on a weekday. As soon as I entered the entrance, a female staff member greeted me and said, "Please go to the table seat on the left side at the back." Checking the previous customers on the way to the table seat, there were a total of seven customers, including a pair of a man and a woman and three men dining alone. I sat at the table and checked the menu. The menu includes various lunch sets, service bowls, fried dishes, grilled and stir-fried dishes, teppanyaki dishes, rice dishes, bowl dishes, appetizers, and salads.

Lunch exploration in the Tsukishima area. This was my first visit since they moved to a new location. The Tsukishima area is still undergoing urban development with more high-rise buildings popping up. I remember that the original Miyoshiya was just one store, but now there are two Miyoshiya restaurants in the same area - one focusing on tonkatsu and Western-style dishes, and the other specializing in chicken dishes. I have fond memories of their fried chicken and fried foods being delicious. So far, when I want fried chicken, I go to the chicken restaurant, and when I want Western-style dishes and fried foods, I come here. This time, I had the classic lunch set, the katsudon set for 850 yen. The katsu was crispy on the outside and tender inside, soaked in a sweet sauce and topped with fluffy scrambled eggs. The sweetness of the onions added a nice touch. The menu also includes Western dishes like Napolitan. The prices seem to have increased slightly due to rising costs. This bustling local eatery is frequented by people of all ages, and I hope they continue to thrive. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited a restaurant that moved and opened about 4 minutes from Tsukishima Station on the Toei Oedo Line. It is located on the northeast side of Monja Street. I went there on a weekday afternoon and it was almost full, with about 90% of the customers appearing to be office workers from nearby. I was seated at the counter without having to wait. They informed me that the daily special was pork cutlet. The menu didn't have any information about the origin or brand, giving a casual dining feel. There were many items on the menu, including ginger pork. I ended up ordering the daily special (pork cutlet set) for 850 yen. It came with tofu, three types of pickles (cucumber, pickled daikon, turnip or radish), and miso soup with various small vegetables. The pork cutlet was thin due to the price, but it was freshly fried and tasty. The place felt more like a casual eatery rather than a tonkatsu restaurant. The staff provided lively and friendly service typical of a traditional downtown establishment. Thank you for the meal.

The other day, when I went to Monja in Tsukishima, I discovered a new Miyoshiya in front of the station! Upon researching, I found out that it had relocated from the back of Tsukishima due to redevelopment, and opened in March 23. I decided to check it out. It's right in front of Tsukishima Station's 7th exit. The spacious interior is mainly table-centered, with group seating towards the back where people were having parties, creating a lively atmosphere. I was seated at the counter as there was an open spot. The landlady handles the service while the owner takes care of the cooking. The landlady warned that the food may take some time, but I assured her that it was okay. The menu is significantly more extensive compared to other Miyoshiya locations. They offer fried food, grilled dishes, stir-fried dishes, teppanyaki, rice dishes, donburi, appetizers, spaghetti, and miso soup. They also have beer, shochu, sake, and whiskey. It's perfect for hosting parties and is open 365 days a year. I've never seen a Miyoshiya like this before. The tonkatsu, hirekatsu donburi, and ginger pork in a glove-sized portion are popular choices. It was a tough decision to make. I ordered: - Large bottle of beer: Kirin Lager @750 yen (tax included) - Potato salad @480 yen - Fried horse mackerel @750 yen (it was written on the blackboard) - Hamburger steak @970 yen. The landlady asked if I could handle the large portion, to which I replied that I could. I ordered the hamburger steak because I saw it in a review. The beer arrived promptly. As I sipped on it, they brought out the potato salad in about 5 minutes. The potato salad, served in a wooden bowl, was homemade. It was placed on a bed of shredded lettuce and cabbage. The potatoes were completely mashed, creating a sticky texture that seemed like it would stick to the stomach. It also contained cucumber, carrot, onion, etc. The crunchy texture of the onion was delightful. It was a delicious potato salad. There's a TV in the restaurant, so you can pass the time watching it. About 10 minutes later, the fried horse mackerel arrived. It was large, with two pieces. The fried horse mackerel had a crispy coating and a tender flesh. It was a great choice. It also came with lemon and mayonnaise for flavor variation. I noticed that the plate had the words "miyoshiya" on it. It's a valuable plate. After about 20 minutes, they set up the spoon, fork, and knife for the hamburger steak. Then, they brought out the sizzling hot hamburger steak on a hot plate. The thin demi-glace sauce was actually Dobie sauce, similar to demi-glace sauce. It was recommended to pour it over rice, but I passed on the rice. The side dishes included green beans, potatoes, and a half-cooked egg. The hamburger steak had a familiar taste, but it was large and juicy. I mixed the egg yolk with the meat for a rich flavor. The Dobie sauce was sweeter than expected. The extensive menu is impressive. The service was excellent, and the owner and landlady even greeted me when I left. I'll definitely be back! It's perfect for drinking outings!

The daily special was 850 yen. Today's special was pork cutlet rice bowl. I decided to order the same as the person next to me, which was pork cutlet curry. The pork cutlet was of a good thickness, served on top of medium-spicy curry with Fukujinzuke and shredded cabbage on a large plate. Only a spoon was provided, making it difficult to eat the cabbage. There were no paper items or wet towels provided, so please be aware of that. The restaurant was about 80% full. The food was served quickly, and many customers ate quickly and left, so the turnover was fast. Payment is cash only. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was from Tsukishima! Miyoshi Ya is in the midst of redevelopment of a high-rise tower mansion and has moved to Monja Street! It reopened in late March! I hadn't really paid much attention before, but it seems they only offer daily lunch sets and service bowls! While looking at the handwritten menu, today's service bowl is beef cutlet bowl? I wonder if I can get it without the egg? Something like a simmered cutlet would be okay? Well then, here we go! Today's service bowl - Beef cutlet bowl! The crispy beef cutlet, freshly fried, is tender and juicy! The moist heat retention adds a nice touch! The rice has a good texture with visible grains! The miso soup and pickles are a nice addition for less than a thousand yen, making it an excellent value in this area! Well, it's a bit further than before, but the taste is worth the trip! As I was writing this, I noticed today's lunch menu at Miyoshi Ya! Oh, is it a cutlet hamburger? Or a pork cutlet? I'm curious about the daily lunch set! Let's go for it! Today's set meal - Cutlet hamburger! A combination of pork cutlet and hamburger! The pork cutlet is thinly sliced but has a solid flavor with a crispy coating! The hamburger is made only with pork, but it has a satisfying texture even though it's small! I reduced the amount of rice, but a full bowl seemed just right for the atmosphere! I slurped the miso soup with seaweed and watercress! Well, once again, I'm completely satisfied today! Every time I go, I discover new menu items that catch my eye! Next time, I'm eyeing the Napoli-style spaghetti served on a hot plate!

Today's drinking session: After work, I went for a solo drink at the 6th spot on my Miyoshiya exploration in Tokyo. I visited this shop near Tsukishima Station. Potato salad (480 yen): Thinking that the main teppanyaki dish would take some time, I ordered potato salad as a beer snack. It is made with potatoes, onions, cucumbers, and carrots mixed with mayonnaise dressing. It has a slightly sweet flavor, but it is refreshing and goes well with beer. Pork ginger teppanyaki (970 yen): Stir-fried pork, cabbage, and onions with ginger sauce, with a raw egg in the middle. The ginger sauce is light and goes well with beer. Mixing the egg with the sauce provided a smooth and delightful taste. I had one bottle of Kirin Lager beer (750 yen) and one lemon sour (480 yen). The dishes were quite filling, and I left with a full stomach. Since the menu is extensive, I would like to revisit and try other dishes. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch adventure led me to explore the area around Tsukishima Station. I exited from the No. 7 exit of the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line Tsukishima Station, walked along the main street, Tsukishima Monja Street (Tsukishima Nishi-nakadori), towards Kachidoki (from Ichiban-gai to Yonban-gai). After a short walk, I came across a temporary shop where I decided to have lunch - "Miyoshiya". The original building of Miyoshiya is set to be replaced by a high-rise condominium, so they are currently operating out of a temporary shop. I arrived at 12:05 pm on a weekday and was greeted by a female staff member who kindly directed me to any available seating. Inside, I noticed a total of seven customers - a group of four men, a group of two, and a solo diner. I sat down at a table and perused the menu, which offered a wide variety of dishes ranging from daily specials to fried foods, grilled dishes, stir-fried dishes, teppanyaki, spaghetti, and more. After some contemplation, I decided to go for the daily special, the "katsudon". The prices seemed to have slightly increased since my last visit. The menu was so extensive that I always found it hard to choose. The "katsudon" arrived promptly after about 2 minutes.

Established in 1923 in Yushima, Bunkyo-ku, the Western-style restaurant chain "Miyoshiya" has expanded to 26 locations in Tokyo. Recently, they relocated to the entrance of Monja Street near Tsukishima Station. The previous location was further inside Monja Street, closer to Kachidoki Station. The new location is more convenient for customers. Next door, there is a monjayaki restaurant called "Takenoko" owned by the comedian from Jungle Pocket, Otake. I ordered the "Chicken Saute" with rice set. The Chicken Saute arrived on a hot iron plate. It may not be a perfect match for rice, but I personally enjoy the taste. The Chicken Saute goes well with rice and beer. Thank you for the meal!

Miyoshiya, a tonkatsu-focused Western-style restaurant that used to be located in the Tsukishima area, has moved to a spot very close to Tsukishima Station, where the former Tsukishima Elementary School was located. The interior of the restaurant is clean and spacious, with a nostalgic old-fashioned diner atmosphere. I was originally planning to order the pork cutlet curry, but when I looked at the menu, I noticed they also had dry curry. Since I like the combination of hamburger steak and dry curry, I decided to order each dish separately. First, the dry curry - a type where the roux is mixed and stir-fried. It contains plenty of chicken. The addition of fukujinzuke (pickled vegetables) and red pickled ginger adds a nostalgic touch. The hamburger steak comes with demi-glace sauce, cooked on a hot plate with green beans and potatoes, topped with an egg. The fact that it comes with miso soup is also nice. The restaurant also offers a variety of appetizers, making it a great place for drinking as well. It's good to know that Tsukishima has more to offer than just monjayaki.

Tsukishima is undergoing redevelopment, leading to frequent relocations. This Western-style restaurant used to be closer to Kachidoki, but has now moved near Tsukishima Station. It blends in seamlessly with the surroundings. The daily special on this day was "Tonkatsu Curry with Miso Soup." The Tonkatsu was crispy and delicious, perfect for pouring sauce over. The hot miso soup complemented the meal well, all for just 850 yen. The daily specials offer great value. The customers are often dining alone, enjoying a relaxed atmosphere. The relocation to the entrance of Monja Street seems to have brought many positive changes. Even though it's not a Monja restaurant, its diverse menu is family-friendly and convenient for women. It seems like this spacious neighborhood eatery will be a valuable asset to the locals. The menu remains unchanged, and they also offer alcoholic beverages, including a bottle keep service for shochu. It feels like Tsukishima Station Sanmiyaya is becoming more popular than before.

I visited during the daytime on a regular day. It's a busy area with many okonomiyaki restaurants, but I decided to try a different place this time. There were plenty of empty seats on this day. I ordered the daily special, which was a pork cutlet set meal. It came with rice, pickles, miso soup with lots of ingredients, and a tonkatsu. It also came with a unique addition of seasoned seaweed. The tonkatsu and rice were average, nothing special. Honestly, it was a bit lacking in portion size. However, the miso soup and pickles were on the stronger side in flavor, but they complemented the rice well. Overall, there were no major flaws, but I didn't find any standout qualities either.
