I wandered around Tokyo Station looking to buy an ekiben to eat on the bus, but couldn't find anything good. I decided to head to the Daimaru basement where I felt like I could find a delicious bento. I splurged a little and got a crab bento. It was really tasty and I enjoyed it a lot! ♡♡

This is a past article. Just steps away from Tokyo Station, located in the basement of Daimaru Tokyo department store, is Sapporo Kaniya. On the way back home, I decided to have sushi here on this day. The sushi vinegar was on the stronger side to maintain quality. While my craving for sushi was satisfied, the taste was neither good nor bad. Thank you for the meal.

The crab meat and leg meat chirashi bowl for 1404 yen comes in a slightly small container, so I wonder if a man would be satisfied with just this? Nevertheless, the taste of the crab is definitely felt in this bento box! I visited the unlisted restaurant "Sapporo Kanika Daimaru Tokyo Store" in Daimaru Tokyo basement after 8:00 PM. Since it was past 8:00 PM, all items were 200 yen off. There were not many items, but I found my favorite shrimp. I purchased the "Kanika Ebi Chirashi 1,296 yen → 1,080 yen". There was only one shrimp, but there was quite a bit of crab, so I finished it♪

When I ordered it, they included chopsticks, soy sauce, pickled ginger, and a hand towel without me even having to ask. During my recent trip back to Shirakawa, I was drawn to the crab bento from "Sapporo Kaniya." I purchased the second most popular option, the "Kani Awase Bako" bento. The most popular option included sea urchin and looked delicious, but it was a bit pricey. The "Kani Awase Bako" bento cost 1,404 yen and consisted of vinegared rice topped with plenty of shredded snow crab and salmon roe. The rice was mild and refreshing, making it easy to eat, but the crab lacked a bit in flavor. It was also a bit bothersome to have some pieces of crab shell mixed in. Overall, the bento was a bit monotonous and I finished it quickly without feeling completely satisfied, but sometimes I crave this kind of meal.

There are many bento shops in Tokyo Station, but I like the bento corner on the B1 floor of Daimaru and often use it on my business trips. On this day, I purchased Zuwai crab sushi and "Tai Meshi and Karei no Nituke" from another store. When I returned home, we naturally had it that day. The crab meat is so fresh that it retains its transparency. The Zuwai crab leg meat is cut into 1/2 to 1/3 and neatly arranged. It's a bit expensive at 1306 yen ... There was more rice than I expected, and it was a bit monotonous, so I left some. Next time, let's aim for the one with salmon roe!

I bought a crab mixed rice dish at the Depachika shopping area in Daimaru's basement. It was filled with plenty of crab and priced just over 1,000 yen, which was wallet-friendly. Even when I brought it home and ate it, the cooling pack kept it fresh with the crab cold and the rice at a nice temperature. It would also make a great bento for when traveling!

On my way back from my hometown, I stopped by the food section of Daimaru since I had some time before catching the bullet train. There were so many options to choose from, but I finally settled on a crab bento box. It was a small-sized bento box filled with crab claws. Quality over quantity! When I opened it in the train, the smell of crab filled the air. Eating the crab claws in the small train cabin was so convenient and enjoyable. This bento box was definitely the best choice!

I used this shop located on the 1st floor underground of Tokyo Station. This time, I visited after 7 pm on New Year's Day. Many bento boxes were already sold out at this time, so I purchased a crab rice bowl for around 1,600 yen that was still available. The expiration date was until 11 pm on the day of purchase, indicating an emphasis on freshness. Upon trying it, I found that the crab was thick and flavorful, but the amount of crab was a bit small. The crab had a strong taste, but not much seasoning, allowing you to enjoy the natural flavor of the crab. The thick texture of the crab allowed me to enjoy its unique texture. However, the amount of crab meat itself was small with more rice, resulting in a lower overall satisfaction. The crab flavor was good, but considering the high price, the overall evaluation of the shop may vary.

Due to Omicron, many dinner gatherings have been canceled, so tonight I ended up having a solo meal. I wandered into the food section at Daimaru Tokyo looking for some side dishes, but I couldn't help but notice the visually appealing bento boxes. One in particular caught my eye - a crab feast. As a lover of crustaceans, I was intrigued. There were a few types of bento boxes, and the shop attendant started to introduce each one, mentioning the ingredients used. The most popular one was the "Kani Hogushi-mi and Stick Meat Chirashi (tax included 1404 yen)" which used red snow crab meat. The second most popular was the "Kani Chirashi B (tax included 1620 yen)" which included crab claw meat and red snow crab. Ultimately, I chose the "Kani Kurabe Chirashi (tax included 2160 yen)" which had crab claw meat and real snow crab legs. When I tried it, I found that the vinegar rice was quite strong, which I personally liked. There were also finely chopped shiitake mushrooms and dried gourd inside, adding a subtle touch of color. I was pleased to see that pickled ginger was included as well. This bento shop is originally from Nagoya, despite specializing in crab. On the other hand, in Nagoya, they also run an eel restaurant called "Hitsumabushi Uchi". They are a conglomerate that also operates "Hokkaido Kani Shogun", "Kaniyutei" which serves crab and beef teppanyaki, and even a chain of electronics and camera stores called "Top Camera". Although I would like to try the crab and meat teppanyaki at "Kaniyutei", it seems a bit far from Tokyo, located near Chiba Station. Non-specialty crab establishments may lose some points in terms of taste, but in reality, the food is quite decent and enjoyable. Among the crab bento boxes available in stores, it was a bento box that I could see myself buying again, so I was quite pleased.

After 7pm at Tokyo Station Daimaru department store basement. I wandered around looking for dinner to take back to my hotel room for teleworking. I found a crab house where they had a time sale going on. I chose the seafood chirashi B which had crab meat, tuna, salmon roe, salmon, and scallops on top of sushi rice. The container was small but deep, and when paired with a cold beer, it was quite filling. Ah~ Teleworking is such a hassle~ What? It's full of miscalculations you say? Just leave me alone~

I visited the Sapporo Kanika at Daimaru Tokyo store in Yaesu. The location of the store is in the "Hoppe Town" on the basement floor of Daimaru Tokyo. It was my first visit. On this day, I purchased a Kanimeshi Box (1,188 yen) and a Negitoro Maki (1,188 yen). I enjoyed them at home. The Kanimeshi Box had boiled crab meat and salmon roe on top of vinegared rice. The crab meat was simply sweet and delicious. The salmon roe had a strong salty taste, but it complemented the sweetness of the crab well and the balance was good. The vinegared rice had a strong vinegar flavor, which I didn't dislike. Although the container didn't look big, the rice was packed tightly, providing a satisfying meal. The Negitoro Maki was a battleship roll with minced tuna on top. The rice was large and there was a generous amount of tuna, similar to the Kanimeshi Box. However, the tuna was too fatty for my taste, so I found it a bit disappointing. It was heavy, so I had to take a break before finishing it. Perhaps the quality of the tuna in the Negitoro Maki was not good, but it didn't suit my taste. I felt that I should have just bought a crab bento since this is a crab specialty store. They have various crab bentos available. Despite my experience with the Negitoro Maki, I still felt that the Kanimeshi Box was easy to eat and enjoyable. Since it had good volume and seemed like a good deal, I would like to try a different crab bento next time. Thank you for the meal.
