Before my first visit, I was a bit hesitant to open the door because the exterior of the restaurant looked a bit intimidating. This visit marks my first time here. This time, I ordered the "Hot Chicken Set Meal" (900 yen) and my wife ordered the "Yukgaejang Udon" (880 yen). After placing our order, three small side dishes were served within 7-8 minutes. I wonder if this is meant for two people? The finely chopped vegetable omelette, bean sprout namul, and kimchi were all delicious. The hot chicken in the set meal was freshly fried with a crispy coating and juicy chicken inside. It had a honey-like sweetness followed by a spicy kick, reminiscent of yangnyeom chicken. It paired well with the rice and was very tasty. There were five pieces, each substantial in size, providing a satisfying meal. The Yukgaejang udon soup was not as spicy as I expected, making it easy to eat. It had a good umami flavor and a refreshing aftertaste, with plenty of meat and other ingredients. Personally, I feel like I would prefer to try this as ramen instead of udon. Although the menu does offer ramen, it likely uses instant noodles commonly found in Korean restaurants. I would love for them to serve Yukgaejang ramen with fresh noodles! Overall, I found this to be a great restaurant with delicious food, excellent value for money, and friendly staff. My wife also enjoyed it and expressed interest in returning in the future.

I like it and go quite often. I often have the Korean fried chicken set meal. It's not as much as a Korean set meal, but it comes with small side dishes and soup, which makes me happy. I usually go for lunch, but I went for the first time at night and the price was reasonable, similar to lunch. I will come again.

Moved to Karasuyama for lunch. Today, I went to Hichiriki for the first time in a while. I was torn between ordering the Bibim Naengmyeon and Yukgaejang, but ended up ordering the Yukgaejang. As usual, I was asked if I wanted to make it spicier, and of course, I asked for extra spiciness. The soup was filled with plenty of ingredients and had a spicy kick to it. I devoured it like there was no tomorrow and finished it in no time. I'm glad I chose the Yukgaejang. Well, I think I would have been satisfied with the Bibim Naengmyeon as well if I had ordered it. (laughs)

Today, I went to "Avocado Kitchen Shakariki" in Karasuyama, but they are currently not offering dine-in service, only takeout or delivery. Disappointing. ( ´Д`) So, I decided to try "Chugyeong Yadak" instead. It seems like there are a lot of takeout customers these days. I ordered Yukgaejang again today. It's cold every day, so I crave something warm like soup. It comes with side dishes, so I can eat a balanced meal. I asked for the spicy Yukgaejang, and it was filled with plenty of ingredients, including both chicken and beef. This soup goes so well with rice~ (The rice here is quite delicious.) I realized that Yukgaejang and miso soup have something in common. They both have plenty of ingredients, the soup alone is satisfying, and when eaten with rice, it's a complete meal. I might end up eating it again soon. (laughs) (Another three lunches in a row!)

Today, I went to Jukjeon Chicken in Karasuyama. Although I was tempted by Chinese food, the cold weather led me to choose Korean cuisine instead. I decided on the lunch menu's Yukgaejang to warm up my body in the chilly weather. When I placed my order, they asked me if I wanted it spicy, remembering that I like spicy food from my previous visits. This kind of consideration made me happy. First, I was served with side dishes including bean sprout namul, aged white cabbage kimchi, and Korean-style rolled omelette (Gyeranmari). I was pleasantly surprised to see Gyeranmari as a side dish, as it's not commonly found in the banchan selection. After a while, my Yukgaejang arrived, filled to the brim with soup and plenty of ingredients like leeks and bracken. The meat used was chicken, which was tender and easy to eat. The spicy soup had a refreshing kick from the chili peppers, spreading heat throughout my mouth. The soup, not made from seafood broth, was light and perfect for a cold day like today. The piping hot soup was just what I needed to warm up. I enjoyed the versatility of Yukgaejang, eating it with just the soup or mixing it with rice. Despite the generous portion, I finished it all easily. The deliciousness of the rice was also noteworthy.

The day before yesterday, I wandered around Karasuyama looking for something light to eat. I remembered that Korean cuisine has a dish called naengmyeon (cold noodles). So, I had Bibim Naengmyeon at Chukyonyo. It wasn't as cold as I expected, but... they remembered that I like spicy food, so they offered to add more "yangnyeom" sauce separately for me to adjust the spiciness, which was nice. The Bibim Naengmyeon was sweet, sour, and spicy. The noodles were quite long, so they cut them with scissors before serving, making it easier to eat. I mixed the noodles well with the "yangnyeom" sauce. The sweet and spicy Bibim Naengmyeon went down smoothly. It has a refreshing taste suitable for summer, with a slight acidity. The thin noodles have a good chewiness, providing a pleasant texture in the mouth.

Busy day from morning till night. After rushing around at home, I headed out for work in the afternoon with a big load of stuff. But I had some time, so I had lunch at "Jugion Yadak" - a Korean chicken restaurant. I love spicy food, so I ordered the hot chicken set meal for 890 yen, which came with side dishes. Today's side dishes were kimchi and odeng. The kimchi had a tangy flavor, indicating it was well fermented. The hot chicken had a crispy coating and a slightly sweet and spicy flavor that went well with rice. It was topped with green chili peppers, giving it a nice kick. The sensation of the volatile spiciness hitting my nose was great. The set meal came with 5 pieces of chicken, but they were so good with rice that I felt like I needed more than 5 pieces. They offered to refill the rice, but I resisted the temptation to avoid becoming as plump as a fried chicken. So I managed to finish the set meal without getting extra rice. The seaweed soup with sesame oil was also delicious.

Today, I visited "ChuGyeongYaDak," a newly opened Korean chicken restaurant. The place was packed with customers, with only 5 tables and 1 raised table available. The menu mainly consists of chicken dishes, along with some Korean side dishes and noodles. Most items are available for takeout. I ordered the Spicy Soft Tofu Stew for lunch, which came with side dishes like namul, kimchi, and oden. The stew was topped with black sesame seeds and filled with tofu, clams, squid, onions, and a flavorful seafood broth. The portion of rice was quite generous, served in a large bowl. I enjoyed the meal with the side dishes and finished everything, despite my initial concerns about the rice portion. As a special opening promotion, I also received a complimentary cheese ball, which was crispy on the outside and filled with a light mozzarella cheese inside. It was a delightful addition to the meal.

A new restaurant has finally opened on the site of the now-closed Hakata Kushiyaki Ippo. It's called "Chukou Yachou Jugyon Yadak" and specializes in Korean chicken dishes. The restaurant seems to be popular, with branches in Shin-Okubo, Osaka, and Takadanobaba. The trend of chicken restaurants seems to be on the rise, following the tapioca boom. On the first day, the place was bustling with customers, and I got the sweet and spicy Yangnyeom chicken to go. The portion was quite generous even though I only got a half order. I'm curious about trying the hot chicken and garlic flavors next time. It seems like a fun place to visit with a group and try a variety of dishes. The staff were experienced and friendly, and they even gave me a little extra on the first day. I heard they had to delay their opening due to the state of emergency and alcohol ban, so I hope they do well.
