I often use this cafe for work meetings. I usually enjoy delicious bread and desserts, but this time, I had a cafe au lait because I had an important meeting with a client. The cafe is spacious, so we were able to have a conversation without being distracted by others. The cafe au lait was delicious.

On Sunday around 2:30 PM, I visited the cafe casually. The small tables for 2-4 people were full, so we sat at the large table in the center (up to 8 people allowed). The atmosphere was quiet and calm. The seating was just right, and there were no long lines during the 3-hour stay.
[Order Menu]
Total: 1232 yen (including tax)
Tarte Pomme: 682 yen
Iced Tea: 605 yen
Cake Set Discount: -55 yen
When I tried the "Tarte Fruits Rouges" at PAUL Kagurazaka store before, the base was okay but the cream part wasn't tasty, so I thought maybe the Tarte Pomme would be better since it has apple compote instead of cream... and I was right. It was delicious! The iced tea was a bit pricey but it was generous in portion, which was nice.
I didn't actively choose the PAUL Kagurazaka store this time, as I initially tried to go to HARIO CAFE at the Hakubutsukan Tokyo store, but their coffee was 1000 yen per cup, so I gave up. Then I aimed for Tully's Coffee next door, but it was closed on Sundays, so I ended up at PAUL. However, the staff quality was much better here than at the Kagurazaka store, and of course, there were no broken dishes. The seating was also spacious and comfortable, making the ambiance relaxed. It made me realize how different PAUL stores can be. The Roppongi Ichome store is directly connected to the station, open on Sundays, and highly recommended.

I purchase sandwiches or hot dogs from here for breakfast a few times a month. Today's breakfast was a hot dog. They offer takeout, and you can also have it heated in the store. The sandwiches come with about 4 different fillings. If they are not sold out, you can choose the same filling with a croissant or baguette. The bread is made with high-quality ingredients, and there are plenty of fillings, creating a delicious combination where you can taste both flavors. The hot dog is served in a baguette with a large sausage topped with bechamel sauce and cheese, making it a bit difficult to eat but still worth coming back for. The photo shows a Croissant Mix (702 yen) and a hot dog (540 yen). The prices are slightly high, but I believe the taste and portion size justify it.

I had a soup set for lunch. It came with a generous amount of soup, 4-5 slices of bread, and a drink, all for 990 yen, which I think is very cost-effective considering the location. The bread was delicious. As for the soup, it was just like pouring canned corn soup into a bowl, nothing special. It said it was a seasonal soup, so I would like to try a different one when I visit again.

Chicken lemon hot dog and cream puff. The hot dog has lots of chicken chunks, plenty of onions, and a refreshing lemon flavor. The bread is soft and chewy. It's a bit pricey but delicious! The cream puff is filled with basic whipped cream and a hint of custard cream at the bottom. The puff pastry is light and airy. Elegant taste. The atmosphere was lovely.

I had the Fruit Rouge Tart (648 yen) and the Ice Cafe Creme (518 yen). The Fruit Rouge Tart is really delicious. It's a bit expensive, but worth the taste. The Ice Cafe Creme has a unique flavor too. Paul may not be kind to your wallet, but their bread and desserts are so good that I feel like going back regularly.

I selected Cannele and Pain au Chocolat. Cannele is dense and satisfying to eat. Pain au Chocolat is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with just the right amount of sweetness. In terms of cost performance, it is good because of the delicious taste.

PAUL is a popular bakery owned by the French group Orde, and in Japan it is operated by the company known as Pasco, which is part of the same group. On the other hand, the luxury bakery and confectionery shop Ladurée, also owned by the Orde group, is operated in Japan by the Baycrews Group. The Roppongi-itchome Station is directly connected to the Izumi Garden Tower developed by Sumitomo Realty. On the first floor of this tower is the PAUL Roppongi-itchome store. I visited for breakfast, choosing between the 1,452 yen Morning Plate or the 825 yen Parisian breakfast. Upon entering, there is a showcase with a female staff member who directs you to your seat of choice. I opted for the Parisian breakfast and ordered a croissant and café au lait. The croissant was warm and larger than expected, with a slightly sweet taste. The café au lait was not too bitter, with a hint of creaminess. I paid using PayPay and mentioned to the cashier that the price had increased since my last visit, to which she replied with a smile that prices have been gradually going up.

After enjoying a wonderful art exhibition, I stopped by here. Last time I was here was for a piano performance by Mr. Nobuyuki Tsujii at Suntory Hall. I don't come to this area often, only when I have a reason to, but I couldn't resist because I love bread. - Croissant (302 yen): Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. - Matcha and Tanba black bean bread (1/2 442 yen): It's moist and chewy, maybe because it's high in water content. The Tanba black beans are soaked in Western liquor, but the liquor flavor is not very strong. You can enjoy the deliciousness of the black beans, and the dough with matcha kneaded in has a strong aroma and a solid matcha flavor. It's a common combination with a Japanese twist, with a classic deliciousness. This time I only got two pieces.

It is often used for meetings, and they have a beer set which is great in terms of cost performance. It includes Heineken beer, various types of sliced bread, Camembert cheese, prosciutto, and ham. It's perfect for snacking. I would like to use it again next time. My friend cannot drink alcohol, so they ordered a set with cake and coffee. It's nice that both drinkers and non-drinkers can enjoy.

I went to Suntory Hall to listen to the piano of my favorite pianist, Nobuyuki Tsujii. Since it's not a place I often visit, I arrived early. When I got off the station, I saw a shop in front of me and decided to buy some items. Here are my reviews:
- Pan no Ashizuku Half (572 yen): A delicious bread with a prominent walnut flavor, complemented by the sweetness and umami of the dough. It has a light texture with a good elasticity, making it enjoyable to chew.
- Campagne Fig Noix (367 yen): A slightly sour Campagne bread with the sweetness of white figs and the nuttiness of walnuts.
- Pan Salé Shizuku (237 yen): A salted bread with butter on top. It has a similar texture to the Pan no Ashizuku but lacks the same depth of flavor.
- Canelé (324 yen): Pretty standard, nothing exceptional compared to the ones from a specific shop in Ginza that I usually go to.
- Kouign Amann (378 yen): It's been a while since I had one. It has a crunchy texture, with a balanced sweetness and a strong buttery taste and aroma.
- Croissant (302 yen): A flaky and buttery croissant with a dense interior.
- Grille Pomme (464 yen): An apple pie with a lattice crust. The pie lacks the expected flakiness and the apples are more like a paste, with a mild sweetness and no acidity. There was a variety of options available, and it was refreshing to try the high-hydration breads from Paul's bakery after a long time.

Today, I stopped by the office on the first day of work in the new year, so I picked up some bread here on the way home. I love croissants, especially those from POUL. Today, I bought the croissant with chocolate and the pain au chocolat. The chocolate bread from POUL is not too sweet and goes really well with the bread. I usually don't like chocolate bread because it's too sweet, but POUL's version is delicious and I want to eat it regularly. The croissant has a crispy texture and is also delicious! The Roppongi Ichome store is directly connected to the station and is cleaner and more convenient to use than other stores.

It's conveniently located right in front of the station. There are other popular bakeries like City Bakery near Roppongi Ichome station, but in terms of taste and cost performance, I prefer Poule. It's next to Tully's and has seating for dining in, making it suitable for cafe visits. This time, I tried the limited edition tea-flavored canelé.

When I have work at Roppongi-itchome Station, I always struggle with lunch options. The building directly connected to Roppongi-itchome Station doesn't have many good restaurants, and although there are more choices at the intersection in Roppongi, it's a bit far to walk when time is limited. Even with limited options, I always rely on Paul because it's right outside the ticket gate. Their lunch menu includes gratin, quiche, salad (3 types), pasta, omelette, sandwiches, etc. Except for sandwiches, the other items come with all-you-can-eat bread. The set also includes coffee, tea, and other drinks. The all-you-can-eat bread is brought in a basket, and although you can have seconds, the initial serving is usually enough to fill you up, so I've never needed a refill. All of Paul's bread is delicious. The salads are also satisfying with a good amount of volume. On this day, I ordered the Salad Roti de Boeuf (1320 yen). It consists of leafy greens topped with roast beef, carrots, tomatoes, and pickles, dressed in a tangy vinaigrette. It's refreshing and tasty.

A late lunch at Paul. I arrived around 1 pm on a weekday and was seated right away. I ordered the Assorted Bread Set for ¥1100, which came with a salad and a drink (I chose hot coffee). The set included a baguette hot dog, a croissant with ham and béchamel sauce called Fromage Jambon Blanc (the name is actually longer), each in half portions, along with salad and potatoes. I wasn't very hungry that day, so I opted for this set instead of the all-you-can-eat bread assortment. The bread was reheated and delicious, and I enjoyed it all. The hot potatoes on the side were also tasty. As I ate, I started to get hungry again and slightly regretted not getting the bread assortment. Without the assortment, this set may not be the best value for money. It's more suitable for those who want to enjoy Paul's delicious bread in a lighter way. Just a note, this branch doesn't have toasters at the tables, and the bread assortment is also reheated. It's best to come for lunch either early or late as it gets crowded around noon. *During this time, the salad lunch was sold out. Thank you for the delicious bread! ✨

Today, I had breakfast at a cafe after a long time. It was around 9:00 am on a weekday and there were only 2 groups of customers at first, but a few more came later. Despite being directly connected to the station ticket gate, the cafe seemed like a hidden gem as it was always empty in the mornings. For breakfast, they offer simple options like bread and coffee, but I always order the set. I love the croissant set because the croissant is crispy and fluffy, and I always enjoy it with coffee at the end. The best part is that you can have unlimited refills of coffee. On this day, while the staff inside the cafe were cleaning tables, someone from the kitchen loudly announced that my breakfast was ready, but there was no response from me. I could see from my seat that my breakfast was ready, so I was about to go get it myself when someone from the kitchen came out and told me to wait at my table. Eventually, they brought it to me. I'm not sure why the staff's response was delayed, maybe they were not paying attention due to the lack of customers, but I deducted a few points for this. The dish had thick slices of bacon hidden in the photo, which added to the generous portion. The taste was also delicious.

I used the restaurant for the first time during lunch. You can have all-you-can-eat bread, with 4-5 types of baguettes available. The pasta lunch set: Genovese pasta seems to be frozen? It lacks flavor and is sticky, not tasty at all. Quiche set: You can choose from 2 types of quiche. Potato quiche with salad. Salad plate: The tuna baguette is soggy, and the rest is average. The staff's response was also not great. It would have been better if it was just a bakery, but unfortunately.

I've been to the PAUL near my office a few times, but this is my first review. This is one of my favorite PAUL locations. I visited around 8:30 am on a weekday for breakfast. The store was empty with only 4 groups at that time, but more customers started to come in later. It was my first time trying their breakfast menu, and I ordered the Morning Set A, which came with a croissant, salad, soup, sausage, bacon, fried egg, and a drink (with free refills). The croissant was slightly warm, crispy on the outside, buttery and moist inside, and it paired perfectly with the coffee! Everything else in the set was delicious as well. The bacon was thick and satisfying, and the egg was perfectly cooked. The drink refills were prompt, and the staff was friendly and efficient. The ambiance of the store was lovely and comfortable. I still prefer this location in Roppongi Ichome. I would like to come back next time for lunch (all-you-can-eat bread)!

The croissant sandwich at Paul is the best! The sandwich has a croissant with a strong buttery flavor that is delicious. Inside, there is cheese, ham, and other simple but classic sandwich fillings, but the combination with the croissant is exquisite. I love it so much that I often go to buy it for lunch.

I'm not a big fan of bread, so I don't often go to bread shops, but I wanted to try PAUL at least once. I used to go to the PAUL in Ecute Shinagawa when it first opened. It's been a long time since I had lunch there. Eating PAUL's bread again after a long time, it's still delicious. The salad with roast beef had a good balance with more roast beef than I expected. I heard the Pescaatore is delicious, but since it's an all-you-can-eat bread place, I didn't want to focus on carbohydrates, so I chose the roast beef salad.
