About two months ago, a guest house wedding "Larashans Garden Tokyo Bay" opened in the "Toyosu Gururi Park" with a view of the Rainbow Bridge. Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the opening was delayed, but I had heard about it. However, since I have no connection to weddings, I didn't pay much attention to it. But when I found out that there is a Michelin-starred restaurant with the same name in Toyama City, I became interested. I decided to visit the place, but I hesitated because the cafe, which offers reasonably priced meals, is always crowded with the F2 layer of customers who specifically come to visit. However, during my visit to Ariake for some errands, I decided to stop by Fuji Bridge and walk to the restaurant.
I arrived at the restaurant around 12:30 and was fortunate to secure the last table. I chose the "B" option from the lunch set menu, which offers three choices (A/B/C). The soup of the day was a creamy brown mushroom potage with a hint of spice that complemented the sweetness of the mushrooms. It was warming and delicious. For the main course, I chose the weekly fish dish, which was a combination of John Dory and shrimp with Amerikin sauce. The shrimp had a unique tempura-like coating that surprised me, and the John Dory, although slightly under-seasoned, was accompanied by tasty ratatouille, steamed Kyoto turnips, and grilled snow peas.
For dessert, I was presented with a selection of five options made in the on-site kitchen. I chose the White Chocolate and Lemon Ganache Mousse, which was suggested by the staff. It was a perfect balance of refreshing lemon flavor and sweet fruit accompaniments. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, although I believe that a better selection of tea would have enhanced the experience even more.
