The sushi restaurant is a bit pricey for a local place, and it's a shame that smoking is allowed inside with many smokers.

I was taken to this restaurant by a regular acquaintance. Since it was the end of the year, there were not many options, but I enjoyed delicious sushi. I will visit again.

I went to Habuhashi and on the way back, my friend who knows a lot about sushi said they wanted to try sushi around here, so we looked it up on Tabelog and decided to come hereヾ(。・ω・。) It's just one meter by taxi from Habuhashi. The restaurant is very close to JR Uguisudani Station! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and retro, and the head chef was a kind and gentle person♡ They have a great selection of side dishes for drinking, so it's a good place to drink! I especially liked the scallop isobeyaki (´,,•ω•,,)♡ It was so delicious!! I got a nigiri sushi made to order. I was full from the side dishes, so I only had a little bit of my favorite toppings. I don't know much about how to make sushi, but it was very delicious(o ˘ω˘ o) ♡ There were many regular customers, and I thought that this is a restaurant loved by everyone♡ Even though there were many regular customers, they also paid a lot of attention to us, who were there for the first time, and before I knew it, we were all chatting together at the counter and had a very enjoyable time! According to my friend (who ate more sushi than me), they managed to get by with a bottle of beer, 4 servings of hot sake, and food for two people for 10,000 yen.. so I think the cost performance is also very goodヾ(。・ω・。) I definitely want to go back to this restaurant♡

I remember ordering delivery from this place often when I was a child. I don't remember the taste, but it must have been decent. So, after a long time, my family and I decided to visit. The variety of alcohol and sushi might not be extensive, but that's okay since they are not targeting tourists in a bustling area, but rather catering to locals. We visited on the last day of a three-day weekend, so we weren't expecting super fresh sushi, and that's fine. After trying everything, my family seemed satisfied, and I hope this local restaurant continues to thrive as a place for everyday dining. This neighborhood has seen more ramen shops and evolving eateries like the Western food restaurant Kamiya, but I hope the nostalgic old-fashioned restaurants like this one continue to exist. Thank you for the meal.

Occasionally, I come across a menu item called "bakudan." I thought it was an arrangement of chirashi sushi using seaweed, but it turned out to be finely chopped ingredients mixed with egg and natto to create a sticky texture. Although I considered trying it at this restaurant, I found the chirashi sushi for 800 yen more appealing. The daily lunch specials included sashimi set and grilled fish set, with options like mackerel marinated in sweet miso and red sea bream marinated in miso. I prefer dried or open fish over marinated ones. There was also a sushi bowl with minced toro and green onion. When I ordered the chirashi sushi at the counter, a group of 9 people entered. I was surprised that they could all be accommodated, but then I noticed there was a tatami room in the back. The set included pickles, simmered taro and shimeji mushrooms, miso soup, and almond jelly for dessert. The chirashi sushi was served on a modern plate, with two oysters as a special touch. I wondered if the minced toro was a substitute for the tuna? There was only one slice of fish. The toppings included octopus, cured mackerel, shrimp, thick rolled omelette, and salmon roe. I personally prefer tuna and yellowtail, so I felt slightly unsatisfied. The rice portion was average, and not too much. I finished with two oysters, feeling somewhat satisfied with the refreshing chirashi sushi. Most other customers were enjoying the grilled fish set.

I entered the sushi restaurant with excitement, as it was not a conveyor belt sushi place. I sat at the counter, where the young chef was lively and engaging with the regular customers. I ordered a special nigiri sushi set, which was delicious with its moist rice and thick slices of fish. However, I found one set to be a bit small, so I ordered some additional pieces a la carte. The Kawahagi with liver was especially amazing. The cost performance was not the best as the price quickly doubled when ordering extra pieces. The atmosphere of the traditional sushi restaurant in the downtown area was enjoyable. The place seemed popular as the tatami room was filled with regular customers. They recently started offering an 800 yen lunch special, so if you're curious about non-conveyor belt sushi, it might be worth trying the lunch menu to experience the ambiance.

Sunrise and Uguisudani area residents (and gentlemen who come to play). The impression is like a social gathering place where local regulars enjoy sushi while having conversations. The sushi is sourced from Adachi Market, ranging from traditional to seasonal options, providing a satisfying sushi experience. Among them, the "Bakudan," a dish with natto and seafood (also available in a bowl), is frequently ordered. It might be a specialty. There are tatami mat seating available, making it suitable for families with children, but it can get noisy at times due to local gatherings. Although new apartments are being built in the area around Higashi-Nippori, young people can also feel comfortable using the restaurant for a sophisticated adult social experience. Thank you for the meal.

On a certain Monday in February 2010, my partner and I visited this restaurant for the first time. We arrived around 6pm and found the place empty, with 10 seats at the L-shaped counter and tatami seating. We ordered the following:
[Appetizers]
Yellowtail sashimi
Grilled cod milt with ponzu sauce
Oyster and cheese grilled dish
Ginkgo nuts and scallops grilled dish
Grilled sea urchin
[Nigiri Sushi]
Tuna (lean and medium fatty cuts)
Red snapper
Shrimp
Salmon roe
Gunkan-style sushi
Egg
Tuna and scallion roll
Cucumber roll
[Additional]
Small skin eel
[Drinks]
Draft beer
Plum wine soda mix x2
Green tea mix
"Genno Taki" sake (Junmai Ginjo)
The total bill came to 10,700 yen. The sushi toppings were average, similar to what you'd find at a local sushi restaurant, but the rice was a bit too heavy and sticky. The appetizers were tasty, so it was a bit disappointing that the sushi didn't quite meet expectations. If this place was marketed as a seafood izakaya instead of a sushi restaurant, I might have a better impression. But oh well, it can't be helped. By the time we left, the counter was full of regular customers from the neighborhood. I would like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.
