Walking towards Monzen-Nakacho, I eventually came across Guras (Glass) Tsukuda branch. I arrived at 1:00 PM on a holiday and was greeted by a male staff member who directed me to choose my own seating. I chose a table at the back on the right side and took my time looking around the cozy interior. The menu offered a variety of curry sets, including lunch specials, curry sets, biryani and Asian lunch sets, as well as side dishes and drinks. I opted for the Lunch Special Curry Set which included a choice of two curries, salad, and a soft drink for 950 yen. I selected the Keema Egg Curry and Butter Chicken curries, both spiced at the highest level. I also ordered a Naan and a Lassi to accompany my meal. The salad and Lassi arrived promptly, with the salad dressed in a sweet red dressing and the Lassi offering a refreshing taste. Shortly after, my plate arrived with Naan, Keema Egg Curry, and Butter Chicken. The Naan was freshly made, soft, and slightly sweet, while the Keema Egg Curry had a rich flavor with minced meat and boiled egg. The Butter Chicken was creamy and mildly spicy, with tender chunks of chicken. I enjoyed dipping the Naan in the curries and finished off my meal with the remaining Lassi. This is my second visit to a place in Tsukishima where you can enjoy authentic curry in a glass! It seems to be popular among locals and families. The staff are casual and laid-back, so you can order your favorite dishes in your own time without feeling rushed. It's a convenient place to go to. Although I don't have any special attachment to this place, I find myself thinking that I should go again after a certain period of time because the food is delicious. The interior of the restaurant is small but clean. Since there seem to be mostly local customers, you can relax and enjoy your meal without it being too crowded. - Food: Eggplant and Keema Curry (recommended): The eggplant was surprisingly plentiful and delicious. It goes well with rice! Chicken Butter Curry (recommended): The chicken pieces were small, but the sweetness of the butter was great in this classic butter chicken curry. You can choose between Naan and Rice, but you can also have both. It's not very spicy, so if you like it spicy, it's better to let them know. The Naan has just the right amount of butter. I visited the new Gras restaurant in Tsukuda, which is one of the three locations in my neighborhood. The small shop has pink walls, green sofas, and six tables. I chose the lunch special curry set with vegetable and bean curry. The vegetables were very soft, almost falling apart, and the bean curry was thick and paste-like with similar flavors. I was craving this today, so I am satisfied with the outcome. I am curious about trying other Asian lunches next time, like biryani or khao man gai.

There are three Glass restaurants relatively close in the Tsukishima Kachidoki area. There are a few more in Tokyo, so it's a fairly large chain. We often visit the Kachidoki branch with our family, but it's been a while since we went to the Tsukuda branch. The curry here is more tailored to Japanese tastes rather than authentic Indian curry. It's decent though, as expected. Today's curry was a combination of chicken and okra, plus a keema egg curry with rice. It also came with lassi for 950 yen. The rice portion was quite large by default. Refills are free, but you could do with a smaller portion. It was a satisfying meal.

Tsukuda is a competitive area with about 3 Indian restaurants, but if you're looking for spinach chicken curry, this place is definitely number one. And in terms of affordability, this place is also number one.

Glass-san in Tsukishima, Kachidoki, and Tsukuda is a fusion of Indian, Nepalese, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisines. Personally, I really like the friendly and attentive service at the Tsukuda branch. I had some business to attend to in Tsukishima. I really wanted to eat Chinese food, but it was already past 2 o'clock, so I was looking for a restaurant that was still open. That's when I stumbled upon this place. From the outside, it looked like an Indian curry restaurant, but they also had Thai dishes like Gapao Rice and Pad Thai. I decided to go inside. Even though it was past 2 o'clock and I was the only customer, the staff, who were from the respective countries, greeted me politely. I ordered the Pad Thai, which came with a drink and salad for 1000 yen. I chose a lassi for my drink. The salad dressing had a curry-like flavor, and the Pad Thai was a bit different from what I expected. It was a bit mushy and the taste was a bit off. It didn't really taste like Thai cuisine. But the staff were so nice that it made up for it. As I was eating, I started feeling some stomach pains. I thought it might be contractions, so I used an app to time them and they were less than 5 minutes apart. I asked to have the rest of my Pad Thai packed to go, and I left the restaurant immediately. I went to the hospital, and 30 minutes later, my water broke. This experience made that Pad Thai unforgettable for me...haha.
