"When the pandemic settles down, let's head out to the streets... If this mediocre writing can support the struggling restaurants, it would be greatly appreciated. Continuing from the last time, there is a connection to Shimo-Takaido. Whenever I come to Shimo-Takaido, I always end up stopping by a certain shop. It is a tofu shop called 'Izumiya' located in front of Shimo-Takaido Station Market. Established in 1927 as indicated on the storefront, it is a long-standing shop that is also a member of the Tokyo Tofu Merchants Association. The main factory is in Minamidai, Nakano Ward, but it seems that they only have a shop here in Shimo-Takaido Station Market. I got permission to take a picture of the product window. Even though it is reflected in the window photo, I first learned about 'Izumiya' from the TV show 'Nijiiro Jean' (which has ended). I became curious about the highly praised 'Peanut Tofu.' Peanut Tofu has a mellow texture like sesame tofu with the unique flavor of peanuts, and it is delicious. It goes well with a little salt or soy sauce. Wasabi also pairs nicely. This can be enjoyed with beer, wine, or sake. Since then, every time I pass by Shimo-Takaido, I go into the market and buy tofu from 'Izumiya' to take home. In addition to Peanut Tofu, there are many other attractive products. For example, 'Agedashi Tofu (Shiitake, Shrimp @ ¥100)' with a sauce made by Toyomi Foods. Maybe it's the idea of focusing on tofu products and getting the sauce from a good place, which is not bad. Rather, it's good. 'Komame (3 types)' should convey its deliciousness even through the plastic. There are many more... 'Shira-ae' with ginkgo nuts and other ingredients. Frying 'Oboro Tofu' and 'Oboro Age,' the number of tempting tofu dishes... I was told that they are delicious when warmed in a frying pan. The rapeseed blossoms are beautifully green. The cherry shrimp is savory and perfect as a snack. I will visit again. I came to buy sashimi and have received it a few times. I looked up for the first time to post this time and found out the name of the store. This time I received the following items: - Shiraae for 260 yen - Agemono (pumpkin, maitake mushrooms) each for 100 yen The shiraae has various types of beans and is delicious with white sesame as a nice accent. It is a bit different from the imagined shiraae, more like a heated seasoned side dish. The agemono has several types like leeks and aburaage, and the colors are beautiful. The agemono stands out with its smoothness. They even provided the sauce, which was very kind of them. Besides ingredients like aburaage, ganmodoki, atsuage, there are also tasty dishes like sautéed u-no-hana, making it convenient. When my children were young, I occasionally bought okara donuts, which were delicious with a gentle sweetness. The staff are always women and provide serious and quiet service. I will visit again.

At the tofu shop in front of Shimotakaido Station Market, despite its small size, there are various tofu-related products on display. They take pride in their carefully made homemade tofu and traditional handmade ganmo and namaage. Their recommended item is the okara donuts made with plenty of okara and soy milk, which are not greasy and have a gentle sweetness that is perfect for children's snacks. In addition to donuts, they also have soy milk pudding and almond jelly. They offer a variety of tofu-based side dishes, so it's a helpful shop when you're in need of dinner ideas. Izumiya is the place. By the way, it's not "kojinmari," it's "kojinzari." A lot of people write "kojinmari" and it reminded me of tofu with mushrooms. It's good with rock salt. The flavor of the tofu really stands out with salt. It was delicious. And then, olive oil came into play. Lastly, there was mountain wasabi. It was really tasty.
