First of all, the prices are really cheap!! For example, 290 yen or even 450 yen for meat that is still delicious. The spicy and tasty mixed rice soup is only 350 yen and has a good amount of spiciness. It was really delicious! It's a good portion size for sharing between two people. Being able to have a proper meal of yakiniku for around 2,000 yen per person is really great!

I love this restaurant, Genkaya in Takadanobaba, for its great value and delicious food. The prices are very reasonable, mostly in the 200-300 yen range for all types of meat. The Kalbi Cup and Stone Bibimbap are also in the 300 yen range and the meat is tender with three different sauces to enjoy. The drinks are also affordable. The meat is good quality and you can eat with peace of mind. The restaurant provides cabbage and kimchi as side dishes, and you can enjoy slowly sipping on your drink or quickly devouring the meat. Great taste, great price. There is no other yakiniku restaurant with such good cost performance. Even if you order a lot, you won't exceed 5000 yen per person. My only regret is that I ordered garlic rice, which left me with no room to eat more meat. The garlic rice is enough for two people, so sharing is recommended. I will definitely visit again! On this day, I met up with a few of my friends from my student days and we went to a yakiniku restaurant with 5 people for our annual gathering. The restaurant my friend reserved for us is a popular yakiniku place in the Takadanobaba area called "Genkaya". The menu inside the restaurant is almost all priced at 290 yen before tax, which is a great deal! They have kalbi, loin, cold noodles, curry, and more all for 290 yen before tax. Compared to our university days, everyone's appetites have definitely not diminished...we ended up eating a ton! We ordered: kalbi x11, beef tongue x3, harami x3, hachinosu x2, zuke, butatoro, shirokoro, shiokarubi, jigoku karubi, kopuchan, korikori each for 290 yen. Also, we had upper mino and aged kalbi each for 390 yen. We also had scallops with butter, rice dishes, dessert, etc. We enjoyed everything from the hachinosu and shirokoro, which are our favorites, to the classic kalbi. The kalbi and harami were particularly delicious, and went well with rice! The finishing stone bibimbap, priced at 290 yen before tax, was surprisingly filling and we had a satisfying meal. We had a great time looking back on the past year while enjoying a full stomach. Thank you for the feast!

Towards the end, just ordering more kalbi was enough for both the toddler and dad to be fully satisfied, with meat marks practically floating above their heads. The strong exhaust system makes it a smoke-free environment, which is great for families with young children.

We visited the restaurant around 18:30 on a regular night with two people, and we were able to be seated right away. We were guided to seats where we could sit side by side since we were close friends, which got us really excited. We were surprised by the very reasonable prices and the delicious quality of all the meats! Especially the grilled offal, including the small intestines and stomach, was really tasty and yet so affordable! The seasoning was just right, not too strong or too light, and the portion size was adequate, so we could enjoy eating comfortably. The staff were quick to take our orders when we called them, and we just kept eating until we were completely full. We ate so much that we thought we couldn't eat anymore, but the bill came out to just a little over 2500 yen per person! What an amazing cost performance... We definitely want to visit again!

Cheap!!! The prices are really low for decent quality meat. Unbeatable affordability. Going for yakiniku and eating until full for just a little over 2000 yen is a blessing for students. However, they are very strict with the 2-hour time limit, constantly rushing you even while you're still cooking, so just be aware of that.
