The food court at Kinshicho Olinas is very popular! Yesterday, I had a colonoscopy and had to do a polypectomy, so for lunch today, my only choice was udon. There are not many udon restaurants in Kinshicho, so I reluctantly walked 10 minutes to Olinas and waited in line for another 10 minutes. I ordered kama-tama udon and two pieces of inari sushi. I'm not a fan of inari sushi, but there weren't many other options. The udon had a solid taste and the inari sushi was quite filling.

(2023/08/06 revisited) It's been a week since my last visit. The items I ordered are as follows. [Food] - Cold Tori-Tama Udon (Large) (840 yen. The large size comes with about double the amount of onsen tamago and tororo. It wasn't too cold, which made it easier to eat.) - Squid Tempura + Sweet Potato Tempura + Half Chikuwa Isobe Tempura + Chicken Tempura + 2 Inari Sushi (160 yen + 140 yen + 180 yen + 100 yen + 130 yen x 2 = 840 yen. The squid and chicken tempura were soft even when cooled. I wish they had a full-size Chikuwa Isobe Tempura.) The total was 1680 yen. Thank you for the meal.

(2023/07/30 revisit) About 7 years later. Shortly after opening, there were few customers, but after about 30 minutes, there were customers waiting in line to order. The items ordered were as follows. [Food] - Kitsune Udon (cold) (regular) (820 yen. I was torn between Kitsune and Torotama Udon. I chose Kitsune. With the "regular" size, you get 2 pieces of fried tofu. I enjoyed the unique flavor of Marugame Seimen in the fried tofu and inari of the Kitsune Udon.) - Sanuki no Mezame from Kagawa Prefecture (Asparagus Tempura) + Lotus Root Tempura + Inari x 2 (210 yen + 140 yen + 130 yen x 2 = 610 yen. I realized that the Inari overlapped with the Kitsune Udon after placing it on the plate. Sanuki no Mezame (Asparagus Tempura) had a slight bitterness and was delicious.) The total was 1430 yen. I tried a unique menu item, the rich and creamy spicy tantan udon. It was spicy and flavorful, with a thick soup that coated the thick noodles well. The udon had plenty of toppings and the overall taste was delicious.

During the intermission of the live viewing, I went to my favorite Marugame Seimen on the 3rd floor⭐︎ I had the Kake Nari for 390 yen. I added a generous amount of tempura flakes and chopped green onions at the register, and then topped it off with freshly grated ginger, which I love, for free. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I've had this before without cheese, but I heard that the one with cheese is also delicious, so this time I tried the Cheese-Topped Tomato and Egg Curry Udon! It's spicy and good! However, the soup and udon didn't mix well, so there was quite a bit of leftover broth! I wish there was a little more cheese!

The food court doesn't need people, but among Marugame Seimen, Nagasaki Chanpon, Ramen Naotsugu, Thai cuisine Teenoon, Pepper Lunch, and the crepe shop, Marugame Seimen is the quickest to eat at. The zaru udon is still the same despite a change in chefs. The lotus root tempura is quite good. The squid tempura is okay since it's not fishy lately. The bamboo ring tempura was re-fried, so I got it. Overall, it has become cleaner.

I couldn't decide what to eat at Orionasu, so I ended up at Marugame Seimen. They open at 10 am on the 3rd floor food court. The Mentaiko Tamago comes with a choice of raw or hot egg for the same price. The total for Squid Tempura and Chicken Tempura is 840 yen. You can use PayPay.

-Kimuchi Pork Shabu-Bukkake / Great- Pumpkin Tempura Today is July 2nd, Udon Day. The way to spend Han'gasu varies by region, but today I feel like healing myself in the traditional way of Sanuki region. It's important to ease into summer, so let's get through this week without overdoing it. Feeling tired and sluggish due to the abnormal weather, but staying lethargic will only delay recovery. Let's eat... Oh, it's delicious! Marugame Seimen has done a great job with their menu that complements the chewy noodles. The sweet pork belly stew and the crispy Kimuchi were a great combination, and the noodles surprisingly lifted up the broth. The juicy eggplant was also delicious. Everything was there to enhance the flavor of the noodles. It was so good. Thank you for the meal. Now, I'm going back home to take a nap.

On a Tuesday with a sense of impending rain, I arrived at Kinshicho Station North Exit. The shop I was aiming for seemed to have closed (or moved) without me realizing. So, I crossed Yotsugome Street and headed to Olinas Kinshicho. It's a complex facility with a shopping mall and a food court. Marugame Seimen's Tomatama Curry Udon was back for a limited time, and they also introduced Tomatama Curry Rice. It was the last day, so I planned to try it at some store. Conveniently, I decided to eat at the food court here. Tomatama Curry Rice (Large) 530 yen [all prices include tax]. Half Chikuwa Isoben Tempura 70 yen, Asparagus Tempura 170 yen, Onsen Tamago 80 yen. The Tomatama Curry Rice was served in a not-so-large bowl. It was more like a tomato and egg curry than a traditional curry. It was mild and not very spicy. I paired it with Chikuwa Isoben Tempura and Asparagus Tempura, with Onsen Tamago as a dipping sauce. It may make a comeback someday, but I managed to sneak in and try it this time. Rice dishes at a noodle shop are not bad at all.

I occasionally feel like eating during the day and visited. It's spring break so the food court is full of kids running around. I had kashiwa tempura. The taste was neither good nor bad. I haven't had ramen recently, so I've lost 2 kilograms. I don't have time to go often, but I feel a bit indifferent. I should be back soon.

It's been a while since I came to Marugame. I usually prefer soba, so eating udon is probably about once a year for me. I chose grated daikon soy sauce udon with tempura and chikuwa tempura. I quickly poured sauce over the tempura only and headed to my seat. When I squeezed the sudachi, a refreshing scent spread. I always think that both the udon and tempura are delicious. Maybe it's because I only eat them occasionally that I feel that way. The tempura was crispy and satisfyingly voluminous, and the chikuwa tempura was consistently delicious. It was a very satisfying lunch.

Marugame Seimen at Kinshicho Olinas food court. I often go there. It was closed for a few months for renovations, but after reopening, it's the same old Marugame Seimen. I intended to eat something light that day, but ended up getting tempura because of my weak will. I managed to resist getting onigiri, but couldn't resist the tempura. Despite being always crowded, Marugame Seimen is a popular restaurant that never fails to develop new menu items. I am impressed by their continuous efforts.

Located about a 6-7 minute walk from the north exit of Kinshicho Station on the JR Sobu Line in Sumida Ward, Tokyo. ★Visited again on 9/7/2021★ This restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the Olinas shopping mall in a corner of the food court. It had been temporarily closed for renovation since around June. I wonder why it took more than two months to renovate such a small area in the food court... (laughs) There must be another reason! Something must have happened... (laughs) I visited on a weekday (Tuesday) around 12:40. There were 6 customers before me and 6 customers after me. The staff were working as if nothing had changed, as if nothing had happened during the renovation period. Marugame Seimen has a presence in this food court, similar to before! There were very few customers during the closure period... Perhaps it was good during the COVID-19 pandemic?! Tomato Tamago Curry Udon ★★★★★ This dish was featured in a commercial and caught my attention! It's a collaboration product with TOKIO. The color is orange!! It's more like a curry-flavored tomato-based udon, with a mild curry flavor. It has a hint of spiciness. The acidity of the tomato and the sweetness of the egg make the curry milder! The acidity is exquisite and delicious! It's even more delicious to pour the remaining soup over the rice than just slurping it up! Gobo Tempura ★★★★★ It's delicious to eat it soaked in curry! The crispy yet soft texture is irresistible! Chikuwa Tempura ★★★★ Seaweed flavor, curry flavor, consomme flavor, etc. would also be good! I thought it would be nice to have different flavors... (laughs) The Marugame fans around Olinas rushed to the restaurant as soon as it reopened! It was too scary to stand in line there, so I waited and watched for a while...

Beef udon (Regular) - 590 yen Sweet potato - 120 yen The staff were very kind. The sweet potato was a bit hard. The beef udon was of excellent quality and quite substantial. Personally, I prefer a stronger flavor. The saltiness was just right. I was impressed.

The Marugame Seimen in Olinas in Kinshicho is located on the 3rd floor food court. It can be difficult to find a seat during lunchtime as it is very crowded, with most of the people in line for Marugame Seimen. I'm not sure if they are currently offering it, but I ordered the lunch set which included meat udon. The udon had a nice chewy texture and was delicious as always, no wonder there's always a line. The tempura was also tasty.

This place always has a long line, and today it was especially crowded. Visited on a weekday (Friday) around 13:00. There were 17 customers ahead and 6 behind. I wanted to try the lunch set advertised as a limited time offer, but it turned out it was for a later date. And it seemed like the udon menu was already decided. As a fan of kama-tama, it didn't matter to me. Kama-tama (regular) ★★★★★ As always, no complaints - a perfect five stars!! No need for further comments!! Gobo tempura ★★★★★ I have visited many times, but this was a new menu item for me. It was about the same length as a chikuwa, but was it normal? I tried it and thought, "Wow, this is delicious!" Addictive gobo tempura♪ Chikuwa tempura ★★★★ I'm not a big fan of chikuwa, but why does it taste better when it's tempura? I think it would be even tastier with some nori. Hokke tempura ★★★★ Another new item for me. Tempura everything, right? But it was tasty♪ Have you ever seen "gobo" on the menu at an udon restaurant? Maybe it's available as a tempura side dish, but if I missed it, I need to hurry up and try it to reclaim half of my life!! What should I do next?

I had it for the first time in a while. Among the many choices of bukkake, I noticed the meat udon and ordered it. It was very delicious, but I felt a little unsatisfied. The meat was tender, sweet, and delicious, but it lacked a bit of substance. I think I should have ordered a larger portion.

It always seems busy. Today, it was almost full as usual! There were many people of all ages, from children to the elderly (laughs). Among them, Marugame Seimen is the most popular, always with a long line. I entered on a weekday (Thursday) around 12:20. There were about 10 customers in front of me and about 10 customers behind me. Whenever I line up, I always think, "Today, I'll try something other than Kamatama Udon," but when it comes time to order, I end up saying, "Kamatama Udon"... (tears) Because I love it... Kamatama Udon (regular) ★★★★★ I should probably skip my thoughts on this since it's the same every time, but why is it so delicious? I wonder why~♪♪ Chikuwa Tempura ★★★ Average (laughs) Yuki Kinoko Tempura ★★★★★ It's satisfying to eat, but hard to eat (laughs) but delicious~♪ I always say "Next time for sure," but I wonder if it will be Kamatama Udon again next time~ (laughs)

You can reach Olinas in about 5 minutes by walking from JR Kinshicho Station North Exit. It takes about 10 minutes to climb up from there. While deciding on which shop to go to, I found a place that serves oyster udon! Let's eat that! The Seafood Tamago Ankake Udon costs 690 yen for a regular size. The taste is okay, with oysters and small bamboo shoots as ingredients. It's good, but lacks a bit of impact. The udon was delicious! Thank you for the meal!
