Set up in a new place and managed to have dinner at a nearby izakaya. Went to Sekai no Yamachan after a long time. Had chicken wings, dotenabe, croquettes, and salad. The chicken wings were decently tasty and the flavor is something you occasionally crave. Overall, it's just your average izakaya level food.

It's been a while since I walked along Keio Street and decided to try this restaurant. They have a touch panel ordering system, which is quite convenient. When they brought out the salad first, I was surprised by how little there was. The Nagoya specialty chicken wings were dry and heavily seasoned. The Taiwanese-style tripe hot pot was also spicy, and costs 2500 yen for two servings. They also offer some Chinese dishes on the menu. I feel like the quality of chain restaurants has been declining recently.

In December 2020, I felt like eating the chicken wings from Yasube, so I visited the restaurant. I didn't know there was one in Tamachi - it's so close, which is great. The interior of the restaurant was clean and nice. My friend and I devoured 15 wings in no time, and the spiciness was just perfect. We also ordered a serving of salted tripe hot pot and croquettes. The croquettes were of high quality for the price. The salted tripe hot pot was a bit greasy, but considering the price, it was good. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Located a little north of the Keio Nakadori Shotengai near the north exit of Tamachi Station is the well-known Yama-chan, a renowned restaurant worldwide. While they did not offer lunch service before, they have started serving lunch during the pandemic. They also offer takeout. I arrived around 11:55 am on a weekday and there weren't many customers at that time, just one other group. I was seated at a two-person table and decided to order the famous "Phantom Tebasaki Donburi" (¥900 tax included) after seeing it on the menu. The dish arrived in about 7-8 minutes, accompanied by salad, onsen tamago, miso soup, and a small side dish. The salad included shredded cabbage, potato salad, and cherry tomatoes, but the portion was not large. The side dish was a spicy komatsuna namul. The miso soup had wakame and chopped green onions, and the onsen tamago was served on top of the donburi. The donburi itself had 6 tebasaki (chicken wings) with a slightly glazed sauce, topped with chopped nori and green onions, adding a nice touch. The tebasaki were boneless and easy to eat, with a unique crispy texture. The onsen tamago added a sweet flavor, creating a great combination. The shape of the donburi made it look like there was more food than expected. After finishing the meal, I was quite full. They also provide water in a pitcher on the table, allowing you to drink cold water with ice as much as you like, which was a nice touch. This kind of subtle service adds to the overall experience. Have lunch at "Sekai no Yamachan Tamachi-Mitaguchi Store," where you can enjoy casual Nagoya-style dishes, including delicious chicken wings that won the Grand Prize in the Karaage Grand Prix Wing Division (what's that?). The restaurant had temporarily suspended lunch service due to COVID-19 measures, but resumed on weekdays starting August 6. The first floor has 61 seats at counters and tables, while the second floor has 85 seats with sunken kotatsu-style seating for up to 70 people. A total of 146 seats are available. Self-service water is provided. Today's lunch menu includes: - Tenderly cooked miso pork cutlet with rice and miso soup for 800 yen - Iron plate Neapolitan noodles with salad for 700 yen - Spicy new Nagoya specialty Taiwanese yakisoba with rice and salad for 700 yen. You can also order the famous "phantom chicken wings" from lunchtime, which comes with 5 pieces for 480 yen. My order was the miso pork cutlet for 800 yen. It came with glossy rice and regular miso soup instead of Haccho miso. The sweet and savory miso sauce on the pork cutlet was delicious. The meat was tender and the combination of Nagoya's Haccho miso and pepper was fantastic. It had a spicy kick. The secret ingredient seemed to be a numbing chemical seasoning. However, the balance between the thickness of the meat and the amount of fat was a bit off. It seems like both the restaurant and the staff are still getting back into the swing of things since they just resumed lunch service. Keep up the good work! 😊

World's Yamachan is known for their famous spicy version of chicken wings. The surface of the wings is covered in pepper, making it a hot item that is perfect for those who enjoy spicy food. This spicy kick goes perfectly with drinks, making it a popular menu item. Just like how America has Buffalo wings, Japan has Yamachan's chicken wings. Sometimes, you just crave Yamachan's chicken wings.

The food tasted similar to a restaurant in Nagoya, bringing back memories. Especially the chicken wings made me think, "Oh, this is it!" as I devoured them with beer. The floor of the restaurant was slippery with oil, which oddly made me nostalgic. However, the mojito that my companion ordered was disappointing. If Hemingway were served this, he would definitely be furious because there was hardly any mint flavor. Mint is cheap, so they should have put a generous amount. Cutting corners is unacceptable even for a chain pub. I often crave chicken wings, so I hope they make improvements.

(Prologue... Drinking Party) A friend from my college days recently got a job in the Tamachi area and we decided to have a small celebration nearby. He mentioned he wanted to eat chicken wings, so we chose this restaurant. We had been to their branch in Kanda before. It's just a few minutes walk from Tamachi Station towards Keio University. We arrived at 6 pm and were seated in a private room on the second floor. Until 6:30 pm, we could order large draft beers at the price of medium ones. We ordered our beers and then used the touch panel system to place our food orders, similar to Torikizoku. Even those of us with aging eyes found it easy to use. (Stable chicken wings) We ordered the classic chicken wings along with edamame and other typical dishes. We also ordered some very spicy chicken wings. The food started arriving within 10 minutes of ordering. The staff were diverse but fluent in Japanese, so we felt at ease. The chicken wings were consistently delicious, and we found ourselves enjoying our beers. By 6:30 pm, the room was almost full, mostly with local office workers, creating a calm atmosphere. We added onion slices and stir-fried bean sprouts to our order, and switched to shochu. We drank quite a bit. After about two and a half hours, the bill came to just over 12,000 yen for the three of us. (Overall... To have a drinking party with all-you-can-drink or not) In hindsight, we could have opted for the all-you-can-drink course, but considering impromptu gatherings, ordering what we liked worked out well. It's a tricky decision. This restaurant has a good clientele, so we felt comfortable drinking here. We would like to visit again casually.

The establishment has two floors and can seat nearly 150 people, making it easy to reserve a table. I visited for a drinking party and tried various drinks and dishes. The Guinness draft beer was a nice option, even though I'm not a fan of dark beer. The Asahi Super Dry in a medium-sized glass was decent. The adult matcha milk and strawberry milk were both very sweet, not exactly what I expected. They also had Red Bull, which was a plus. The Beam highball was average, and I wish I had tried the Chita instead. The plum wine jelly was surprisingly tasty, and the chicken wings were the highlight of the meal - flavorful and addictive. The pickled vegetables platter was too sour for my taste. The service was a bit slow, with mostly non-Japanese staff, and there were some mix-ups with the orders. Overall, it's a good spot for a second round of drinks and chicken wings, but the side dishes were hit or miss.

I'm a bit embarrassed to be suddenly like IKKO-san, but ever since my business trip to Nagoya last month, I've been hooked on Nagoya cuisine. I discovered that there is a Yamachan in Mita and visited to try their "illusionary tebasaki" dish. When I entered the restaurant, I was asked if I preferred smoking or non-smoking. The restaurant is divided into smoking and non-smoking sections. The person who seemed like the manager showed me to my seat and immediately asked, "How many orders of tebasaki would you like?" Well, I guess if you come to Yamachan, you can't not eat tebasaki. - White Hoppy Set 460 yen - Illusionary Tebasaki 450 yen - Doteni 380 yen - Zokkon Cabbage 250 yen The Zokkon Cabbage, as the name suggests, was delicious with the salt sauce. The Doteni with sweet Hatcho miso was irresistible. The flavors were rich and Nagoya-like, and the Hoppy was tasty. Now, the Illusionary Tebasaki. When you eat the meat by stripping it off with your teeth, it's juicy and delicious. The skin is crispy. It's quite spicy. "Furaibo" is spicier, and Yamachan was a bit sweeter, but it had a strong pepper flavor. But, it was delicious. The Hoppy quickly disappeared. - Medium Hoppy 150 yen - Miso Quail Egg Fry 260 yen - Illusionary Tebasaki 450 yen I ordered another serving of tebasaki and another Hoppy. I ordered the tebasaki in small portions because it's best when hot. The miso sauce on the quail egg fry was also delicious. This might be the best way to eat quail eggs. Oh, I thoroughly enjoyed Nagoya cuisine. On my way back, I got two orders of tebasaki to take home. The total bill came to 3564 yen. Satisfied, satisfied.

The phantom chicken wings (5 pieces) were amazing, the fried tofu in broth was delicious, the Yamachan croquettes were a hit, the toppings for the Taiwan ramen were flavorful, the teppan-style Napolitan pasta was satisfying, and the large bottle of beer was a great addition. I only joined briefly during a business trip to Mita, but I was surprised by how good the chicken wings were. Beer goes well with chicken wings, and once my boss left, the atmosphere changed and we were able to drink freely. It was my first time trying them in Nagoya and it was a pleasant shock. A restaurant where you can eat endless spicy chicken wings and Chita Highball. The extra pepper really brings out the flavor of the Highball. Yamachan is delicious at any store.

For our second stop, we went to Sekai no Yamachan and had their deliciously crispy chicken wings and tripe hot pot. The chicken wings were seasoned perfectly with salt and pepper, making them a great accompaniment to drinks. The tripe hot pot was flavorful and satisfying, especially when we added in the thick noodles to finish off the meal.

I had heard of this place before but had never been, so I decided to visit this time. As it originates from Nagoya, it prominently features Nagoya specialties like tebasaki, miso katsu, and doteni. The tebasaki was so good that almost every table seemed to be ordering more. I took a bold move and ordered 10 pieces at once! But I devoured them all in no time because they were so delicious! The spiciness is addictive, and it feels satisfying to eat them cleanly. I will definitely go back!

Ordering the chicken wings was definitely the right choice! The sweet and savory sauce makes you want to keep eating it over and over again! I thought it was a must-have with highballs or beer! The other dishes were also delicious! Not just the chicken wings, I also ordered some delicious appetizers to enjoy as a snack!
