After hearing that a new authentic Thai restaurant opened following the establishment of Indochina Quarter, a group of four ethnic cuisine-loving women decided to visit. They made a reservation for the chef's choice course in advance. Here are some of the dishes they enjoyed: - Myang Kam Bai Chap: a dish with lemongrass and coconut stir-fried in betel leaves, topped with lemon peanuts and salted fish - Fermented vegetables served with various sauces like tamarind, fish sauce, and minced meat - Bitter melon stuffed with minced meat in a spring roll soup - Grilled small fish with coriander - Fermented pork sausage - Spare ribs - Stir-fried minced chicken wrapped in local vegetables - Homok Gai: red curry paste with chicken and coconut cream, steamed in banana leaves - Steamed beef - Leng Saep: lemon soup with pork spine meat and coriander - Gapi: shrimp fermented miso mixed with jasmine rice - Dessert: warm glutinous rice balls and poached egg in coconut milk The reviewer found it challenging to describe the unique dishes they tried, but overall, the Thai cuisine was visually stunning and a sensory experience. Their favorites were the fermented sausage, Homok Gai, and Leng Saep for their authentic flavors. The reviewer also enjoyed the beer pairings and coconut juice. The restaurant also sells butterfly pea flowers, which they purchased and later turned into tea. The restaurant is owned by a company that operates farms producing vegetables and herbs used in Thai and Chinese cuisine, offering fresh and unique ingredients. The group expressed interest in returning for dinner in the future.

A new Thai restaurant recently opened near Kinshicho Station. It looked quite busy as I passed by, so I decided to stop by for lunch. They mainly use Thai herbs in their dishes. I ordered the Kaomokgai (Thai-style chicken biryani) for my child since it was said to be not spicy. We also ordered the Rensap (simmered pork spine with lime) which was recommended, along with our usual favorite, the Puppong curry (soft shell and egg curry). The Rensap was a new dish for me and it was delicious! The pork spine meat was tender and flavorful, and the soup with pork spine broth and herbs was amazing. Adding rice flour noodles to the soup at the end was also fantastic. The other two dishes were fairly average, but the Rensap was surprisingly delicious. There were other interesting dishes like fermented sausages that caught my eye, so I definitely want to come back for dinner next time. #Kids Friendly.

It's been a long time since I had Thai food. I always thought Thai food was more for women, so I usually don't go for it. But I couldn't find any restaurants with a 30% discount on PayPay, so I reluctantly went in, and it turned out to be a great choice. The jasmine rice and radish soup with coriander were delicious. The dishes were rich in spices but had a gentle flavor. I definitely want to go back to this restaurant.

Every time I go to Thailand, my Thai friends take me to eat, but I want to go to a real Thai street food stall, yet they take me to a Thai restaurant in a department store. The food is not spicy, but sweet, with a gentle taste. Some Thai people like the traditional taste, while others are fine with convenience store or chain restaurant flavors. This new restaurant in Kinshicho doesn't have the vibrant Thai food feel. The fish sauce is subtle, gentle, slightly sweet, like a motherly taste similar to a chain restaurant. It's not snobbish kindness, but more like a Central Kitchen vibe. For lunch, we ordered Khao Mok Gai, Khao Gapao, and Larb Gai. Khao Mok Gai is... what is it? Turmeric rice cooked in a rice cooker with chicken flavor, a simple taste like a lettuce wrap recipe. Two chicken wings are served. If the spiciness was just right, it would be good, but the taste is a bit bland. Gapao has a slightly soy sauce flavor, almost like a Japanese taste. I can sense the kindness, but I want more of a Thai feel. The Larb was just delicious, nothing special. Other comments mentioned it was authentic, but I didn't feel the Thai street food vibe. Also, the lack of herbs in the side dishes was disappointing. Carrots and cucumbers... Overall, the prices are high, and the taste doesn't match the concept, so the satisfaction level is low. It feels like the dishes are made by part-timers, like a blend of a chain restaurant and Thai food.

I happened to enter this restaurant because my favorite Thai restaurant was full. Although there were some empty seats, it quickly became full here too. I noticed a few customers getting takeout. The restaurant had a high percentage of female customers. I ordered the Khao Soi set for ¥1200 from the lunch menu. The salad in the set was not Thai-style, but with Thousand Island dressing. The Khao Soi had two well-cooked chicken wings and was quite filling. I squeezed some condiments and lemon into it, but the soup was sweeter than expected, with a stronger coconut milk flavor than red curry. I would like to visit again at night if I have the chance. I received a 30% PayPay discount in Sumida Ward.

I felt like eating Thai food, so I finally went to Chaowan in Kinshicho that I had been curious about. I ordered the lunch set with Khao Man Gai, salad, and soup. The seasoning and sauce were to my liking and delicious. I also want to try the mini green curry and mini gapao rice next time. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

Green curry priced at 1,200 yen. It will be served in 15 minutes. It has a good amount of spice, but the coconut milk makes it very creamy and mellow. It is easy to eat as it lacks strong flavors. In other words, it could use a bit more kick. It contains plenty of chicken. Thank you for the meal!

On my day off, I went to a second oden restaurant in Kinshicho, but it was full and I couldn't get in. There were no izakayas around, and I was getting bored of the same old places. So, I ended up at a Thai restaurant where there were a lot of women. Even us old guys want to drink with Thai food, you know. It's a bit much to eat a full meal at the second place, but the beer was light and refreshing. I added ice because it was hot outside, and it was delicious. The coriander highball was really good too. I had never tried it before, but it was delicious. The som tam had the perfect balance of sourness, sweetness, saltiness, and spiciness. It was incredibly tasty, and it got spicier as I kept eating. The moo ping with sticky rice was amazing. The flavor was so good, I loved it. The gai pad krapow was a classic and comforting dish. The flavors of the herbs and pork, along with the fish sauce, really came through. The fried egg was cute, but a bit embarrassing for an old guy like me. Still, it was cute so I'll let it slide. It's nice to have Thai food and drinks once in a while. It was a PayPay 30% cashback restaurant in Sumida Ward. It's good to enjoy a meal like this once in a while. Thank you for the meal.

Recommended for solo diners ★★★☆☆ Since there are many seats for 4 people, it is recommended for groups of 2 or more. The lunch on this day is Thai cuisine. It is located about a 3-minute walk from Kinshicho Station. It was just past 11 o'clock, but they were already open, so we decided to go in. The B set, Khao Man Gai, costs 980 yen. First, only the salad arrived. Then, the Khao Man Gai and soup were served. The Khao Man Gai had a cute face on the rice. I enjoyed it with two types of sauce. The rice was cooked just right. The chicken was slightly large, but there was actually a good amount of it. With prices around 1,000 yen, it is recommended for a lunch outing.

Today, I had authentic Thai cuisine in Kinshicho at a restaurant related to Meiping in Monzen-Nakacho. I enjoyed the Poo Pha Pong Curry, pig's feet dish, and fresh coriander. The interior of the restaurant was clean, and the open kitchen had a great sense of cleanliness. The wine also looked delicious! I will definitely make a reservation for my next visit!

Located just a 3-minute walk from Kinshicho Station North Exit, this newly opened cafe-style restaurant offers authentic Thai cuisine using fresh herbs. The modern and stylish interior of the restaurant creates a casual and trendy atmosphere. The restaurant prides itself on serving modern Thai dishes that cannot be found elsewhere. They source Thai herbs from contracted farmers in Japan, allowing customers to enjoy the unique aroma and freshness of the herbs in their dishes. We opted for the chef's special course, which required a reservation. First up was the appetizer, Myang Kam. This dish featured a vibrant mix of Thai herbs such as Bai Cha Plu (wild betel leaf), chili, dried shrimp, coconut, galangal, peanuts, red shallots, lime, along with a special sauce and salted squid toppings. It was a unique and flavorful dish that we had never tasted before. Next, we enjoyed fresh vegetables wrapped in pork and egg, as well as steamed Thai vegetables with three different dips. The dips, made from fermented ingredients, offered a variety of new flavors. For soup, we had Malaya Sayam Soup, which consisted of bitter gourd filled with pork mince and glass noodles. We also tried fermented pork sausages, spare ribs, and Homok Gai (steamed chicken curry paste). The main dishes included Leng Saeb (pork backbone soup) and Kaokruk Gapik. The meal ended with a warm dessert called Buatloy Coconut. To accompany the meal, we enjoyed a selection of drinks including Singha beer, coconut juice, Butterfly Pea Tea, Thai-style milk tea, and a refreshing Coriander Mojito. Overall, the experience was delightful, with a wide range of unique Thai dishes and herbs to savor. The restaurant is a great choice for those who love authentic Thai cuisine and fresh herbs. We, a group of four food enthusiasts, had a satisfying dining experience and would definitely consider returning for more.

Enjoy authentic Thai cuisine at Chaaw Wan♪♪ Using organic vegetables and herbs grown in Chiba, the dishes are full of flavor. From fermented sausages to fermented spare ribs and fermented tarako, the dishes are packed with local authenticity. The Goya soup, with a distinct bitterness and refreshing taste, is a must-try for Goya lovers! The Lenseeb soup, made with simmered pork backbone, is both hearty and comforting. Whether enjoyed on its own or with rice or noodles, it is absolutely delicious✨✨ This restaurant offers a true taste of Thailand, with traditional dishes alongside more familiar options. A must-visit spot for those craving authentic Thai flavors! ✨

A restaurant that used to focus on vegetables from Indochina Quarter closed down, and a new Thai restaurant opened in its place. The previous restaurant had more of an Asian-inspired salad bar vibe, while this new place is more traditional Thai. They offer dishes like Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Khao Soi for around 980 yen. I tried the Pad Kaprao for 980 yen, which came with a simple cabbage salad, a soup with a beef bone base, and a unique fried egg on top. The portion size was average and the dish was tasty, with a mild level of spiciness. Overall, the restaurant has a trendy Asian decor but lacks a unique culinary identity. It may be worth trying to add some more distinctive elements to stand out among the many other Thai restaurants in the area.

I visited the Thai restaurant "Chaaw wan" for lunch in late June, located about a 3-minute walk from JR Kinshicho Station North Exit. The restaurant is on the 1st floor of a building along a narrow street. It seems that this restaurant recently opened, replacing the previous Thai restaurant "Indochina Quarter vege&vin." The interior has a total of 30 seats at tables, and I was seated at a 2-person table. The lunch menu offers Thai-style curries, rice dishes, noodles, and more, with a total of 6 options. On this day, I ordered the "Khao Soi" (1200 yen) with a side salad. First, the salad arrived promptly, served very cold. After a short wait, the Khao Soi was served. Khao Soi is a noodle dish from the Chiang Mai region in northern Thailand, featuring boiled and fried noodles with chicken, scallions, cilantro, and more. It also came with sides of shallots and pickled mustard greens. I squeezed some lemon juice and tried the dish. The creamy soup had a delightful texture, with a well-balanced mix of coconut milk, curry, and a unique umami sweetness. The noodles were deliciously coated in the soup, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. I enjoyed every last drop of the soup. It was a delicious meal.

I heard that it opened on May 30th, so I went to visit right away. When I heard that it was the sister store of my favorite Monzen-Nakacho restaurant "Meiping," I had to go. The kitchen with glass walls had two staff members who seemed to be Thai. The sound of Thai language was pleasant to hear. The background music was Thai pop, and even the theme song from that beloved drama was playing, which made me happy. On this day, I tried the following dishes: - Name Kuruk: A salad made by mixing rice croquettes with Name (a type of herb). The crispy texture, the sourness of Name, and the herbal flavor blended perfectly. Eating it wrapped in lettuce made me feel like I could eat endless servings. - Tod Mun Kung: Deep-fried shrimp paste. Compared to the Tod Mun Kung I know, this one was thicker and had a perfect fluffy and chewy texture. It's not spicy, so anyone can enjoy it. - Pla-Nueng Manao: Steamed sea bream with lime. A whole sea bream was served, and the refreshing flavor of Manao combined with the deliciousness of the sea bream made me want to drink up the broth. - Len Seep: I saw this for the first time in Japan! I never expected to find it in Kinshicho. This dish became popular on Instagram as a dish that looks great at a market where young people gather in Bangkok. It's a dish made by simmering pork spine. You eat it by grabbing it with your hands and slurping it up. Even if your face gets messy, you won't mind. The soup, which is also based on Manao, tastes completely different with the fish and pork, making it delicious. Finally, when rice is added and turned into porridge, it's even better. This is a must-try dish. They also provide detailed options for adjusting the spiciness level or removing cilantro, which is great. I heard they also have a good selection of natural wines (I'm just here for the food, so I left it to them). There are still many more dishes I want to try, and they also offer lunch, so I must revisit.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice and clean. You can enjoy delicious Thai cuisine in a relaxed setting. The photo shows the B set of Khao Man Gai for 980 yen. You can also enjoy dishes like Pad Krapow and Green Curry for under 1000 yen.
