This is a bar located in a residential area just a short walk from Shimokitazawa Station North Exit on the Inokashira Line. The building blends in with the surrounding apartments, giving off a modern yet cozy vibe with plenty of wooden furniture inside. The walls are lined with records, reflecting the bartender's personal taste. In the winter, they light up a wood stove, with a stack of firewood nearby. The owner has a collection of unique liquors from around the world, and if you share your preferences, they can whip up a creative cocktail for you. The cocktails tend to be more unique than standard, and be aware that there is a cover charge and ordering an original cocktail may be a bit pricier.

I saw a bar sign in the dark alley, and I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame. The bartender mentioned that they don't get many walk-in customers, maybe just a handful a month. When I visited, the bartender was a man, but according to their website, they also have female bartenders on certain days. Inside, there was a cozy seating area with a real fireplace, giving off a romantic vibe. I didn't venture further inside, but the counter seats in the back had a dimly lit atmosphere. I relaxed on a sofa, admiring the fireplace, and ordered two drinks. I had a Gimlet and a Bruichladdich on the rocks, while my companion had one drink. The total came to just over 6,000 yen. The Gimlet was shaken hard, maybe a bit too much, making it not as crisp as I would have liked. The Bruichladdich was a non-peated variety, with a hint of Islay character. The second branch had a 500 yen cover charge, which I found reasonable given the ambiance and the fact that they use the money for firewood in the winter. The bartender was an employee, not the owner, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. The name "TABACCHI" may refer to a kiosk, but this place felt more like a Villa.

It is a bit difficult to find this bar as it is located a short walk from the west exit (north side) of Shimo-Kitazawa. It seems to attract more adults living in Setagaya than young people who come to Shimo-Kitazawa for fun. The main age group is in their 30s to 40s, and the atmosphere is calm with a mysterious master who appears ageless. The master, who is always playing jazz music quietly, provides attentive service with a unique sense of distance. The cocktails are excellent, especially the Martini, and many people come here just for that. You can visit with friends, enjoy conversations with the master and other customers, or simply soak in the atmosphere alone. Overall, it's a great bar in Setagaya. (By the way, the name "Second" implies it's the second location, and the original "Tabacchi" is located right after you exit the north gate of Shimo-Kitazawa)
