Every time I saw a post by Mairevi, my craving for oysters and pasta deepened. However, due to a tightly packed schedule during Golden Week, I couldn't move freely. So, on the Monday after the holiday, I quickly visited VIGO OYSTERBAR to satisfy both cravings. This restaurant is located inside Galeria Tachikawa. Upon arrival, there were available seats, and I quickly took a seat at the counter. There are also tables behind the counter. There were about 4 staff members, some of whom were friendly, while others were not as much. However, basic communication was possible, so it didn't affect my enjoyment of the meal. The background music, featuring artists like Harold van Lennep and Max Manie, had a nice electronic vibe. Is Galeria always like this? Well, let's start with raw oysters and wine. There was a set that included raw oysters and wine, but since I wanted to try a rose wine and the wine selection was extensive, I opted for individual orders. The Acquesi Rosato Brut had a vibrant and slightly fizzy taste. For the oysters, I ordered a 3-kind comparison of raw oysters. Personally, I think steamed oysters are the best, so I actually wanted steamed ones... The three kinds were from Hyogo, Iwate, and Hiroshima, each with its own unique characteristics. The Hiroshima oysters had a firm and juicy texture, with a pleasant bitterness. They were my favorite. The Iwate oysters had a more rounded appearance compared to the Hiroshima ones, with a strong saltiness and mineral taste. The Hyogo oysters had a texture somewhere between Hiroshima and Iwate, with a long-lasting hint of seaweed aroma. Next, I tried the shaved truffle potato salad. It had a strong acidity and oily texture, with chunks of meat and a subtle truffle aroma. A sophisticated potato salad for adults. This item is from the menu of the neighboring GALERA PRESS COFFEE and requires a separate payment upon receipt of the item. For wine, I chose an orange wine, Ch. Mercian Fuefuki Koshu Gris de Gris. It had a robust and stable orange wine taste, quite delicious. Before the pasta, I ordered another dish, the herb butter grilled clams. I imagined a crunchy texture, but the clams were surprisingly soft, almost like abalone. The basil and garlic sauce had a perfect balance of saltiness and was very tasty. Finally, my long-awaited pasta arrived. I was torn between pasta and risotto, but ended up with the Setouchi-produced real oysters and pancetta, chicory peperoncino. Creamy and tightly packed oysters, prominent pancetta, and the lovely greenness of chicory. It was a delicious meal. Everything I tried was delicious, and there were still many menu items that caught my eye, so I would love to visit again.
