I finally had the chance to visit the famous Chinese restaurant "Starry Night" that I had always wanted to go to, thanks to an invitation. The restaurant, located in a renovated traditional townhouse, exudes luxury, with the staff dressed in suits and ties, giving off a high-end vibe.
- First, we had a selection of 6 appetizers. From eel, bonito, scallops, abalone, jellyfish, to pork, there was a variety of dishes to enjoy, and the portion was generous. It felt like we could just keep eating these and be satisfied.
- Next, we tried the nourishing stewed shark fin, which not only contained shark fin but also Korean ginseng and other ingredients that seemed beneficial for the body. The taste was delicious, and shark fin is indeed a delicacy.
- The Sichuan sweet and spicy sauce with Kyoto beef was outstanding. The beef was incredibly flavorful and tender, and the slight spiciness from the Sichuan peppercorns added a nice touch to enhance the taste.
- The stir-fried scallops and fresh vegetables were delightful. The vegetables, especially the asparagus, were delicious. The scallops were cooked just right, slightly seared, which I personally enjoyed.
- The mapo tofu with rice was a Sichuan-style dish with a bit of spiciness, making it incredibly delicious. I'm not a fan of sweet mapo tofu, so the spiciness from the Sichuan peppercorns was perfect. The pickled mustard greens on the side were a nice addition.
- For dessert, we had a combination of almond tofu, strawberry pudding, and lychee. The lychee was just lychee (laughs), but the almond tofu and strawberry pudding were really tasty. The quality of sweetness and richness of flavor were superb. It was truly a treat to enjoy such delicious desserts after the meal. I was completely satisfied.
