I love motsunabe (tripe hot pot). I hadn't eaten it yet this year, so I went to the Yaesu branch near Tokyo Station. When I arrived a little after 5 o'clock, there were already customers... It's popular, as I expected. There were many drink options, but I decided to start with a glass of draft beer. The Premium Malts was recommended as a refreshing drink, and it was only 280 yen as a special offer. I enjoyed it with the appetizer...♪ I ordered the "liver and beef tongue" first because I love liver. When topped with plenty of green onions, the thick and tender meat was so delicious with no unpleasant smell. Then, I tried the "Iberico pork harami with ponzu sauce (medium)" as recommended by the staff. Iberico pork raised eating acorns has a good meat quality and rich in oleic acid from its sweet fat. It was tender and delicious, especially when dipped in wasabi, enhancing the sweetness. The ponzu sauce made it refreshing and tasty. For my second drink, I had a plum sour. I love pickled plums, so I always order a plum sour when available. The perfect sourness of the pickled plum at this restaurant made it so delicious that I ended up ordering another one. Finally, the main dish, motsunabe. The 1.5 serving size had a generous portion of tripe, cabbage, and chives. The tripe was tender and juicy, absolutely delicious. You can add more soup, and for the finishing touch, we had porridge. It's definitely a must-try, with egg and powdered cheese on top. In addition to porridge, you can also choose champon noodles or udon for the finale. I'd like to try the champon noodles next time. Everything was so delicious that I want to revisit this place. It's conveniently close to Tokyo Station, perfect for a quick drink.

Today's dinner was in Tokyo Yaesu. On my way back from a day trip, I have about an hour until my reserved Shinkansen train. Well, let's go for a light drink. The underground shopping area in Yaesu is nice, but today I decided to visit Aburi Shimizu-san after a long time. I remember getting completely drunk here last time. I think the staff even sent me to the station, I must have caused them trouble (laughs). As I entered, there were 5 other customers. I sat at the corner of the counter and ordered a beer and a plate of grilled pork tongue. The staff grilling in front of me turned out to be the manager now. His cheerful and energetic demeanor is no surprise. The appetizer and beer arrived. "Is the grilled pork tongue plate included in the 5-piece order?" "No, the plate is not included." "Then, please add the plate as well." The grilled pork tongue here, with grilled pork fat wrapped around, includes grilled liver, grilled heart, and grilled tongue. All of them are exquisite. A must-try for sure. I enjoyed the konjac appetizer with my beer while waiting for the grilled dishes. It was surprisingly delicious for an appetizer. The grilled tongue plate was ready first. I took a bite. Amazing (^○^) The melted pork fat, and the slightly rare tongue inside. When you come here, you must try this. Actually, I came here specifically for this (^ω^) The 5-piece order was ready, so I got a glass of Hoppy Black. Both the liver and the tongue have a rich flavor. It must be due to the freshness and preparation. I kept eating and asking for more. There's still plenty of time. I was curious about the tsukune (chicken meatball) that wasn't included in the 5-piece order. "Is the tsukune made of pork?" "It's made of pork." "That's interesting, please grill one for me." I kept eating and asking for more. The tsukune was ready. Crunchy. Oh, I just crushed a cartilage. Yum (^○^) I sprinkled some shichimi spice and continued eating. Everything here is so delicious. I want to try the gatsu-pon (pork stomach) too, but I'll wait until after the tsukune. "Here you go, sorry for the wait." I asked for more and tried the tsukune. Delicious. This restaurant is amazing no matter what you order. It's almost time for the Shinkansen, I should head back soon. Three glasses of beer and Hoppy, and 7 pieces of grilled pork tongue cost just over 3000 yen. It's cheap, delicious, and conveniently located near the station. A great way to end a business trip. Thank you for the meal.

On August 28, 2023, I visited a restaurant in Shimbashi that has both a "main store" and a "headquarters"! Having experienced the top-notch yakiton at Shinjuku's "Torimo" and Keisei Tateishi's "Uchida," I have always wanted to visit this place. I heard that there is also a branch in Yaesu, so I decided to stop by while waiting for the Shinkansen during my Tokyo business trip. The restaurant has counter seats and small table seats. I started with recommended skewers of Joushu pork, ordering the grilled liver and grilled tongue. In Kansai, we usually only have beef liver, but the lack of chewiness and odor in the pork offal really showcases its excellence. Next, I ordered the rare limited skewers, including heart, diaphragm, and lips. They were all excellent. Lastly, I ordered some offal grills, including heart, throat cartilage, and head. There are some places that offer mustard or miso for odor removal, but this place didn't need it. The pork offal here is top-notch. Discovering a great place to drink alone has made my day trips more enjoyable. Currently, the restaurant has a rating of 3.10 on Tabelog. I was so captivated by the charm of Tokyo's yakiton that I made a second visit to this restaurant! I arrived early after my business trip and sat at the counter, ordering a highball. From the menu, I ordered salted tofu topped with sake lees for 390 yen, a mixed skewer set of 5 for 730 yen, a tsukune skewer for 190 yen (rare limited skewer), and a cartilage skewer for 150 yen. The strong saltiness and rare grilling were excellent! The yakiton here is amazing. I then tried the recommended skewers, including the upper tongue skewer for 360 yen and the grilled heart for 240 yen. The quality of the recommended skewers is truly exceptional! They were satisfyingly large and delicious!

I used it after 11pm on a weekday. It was my third stop, so I don't remember much... There are both counter and table seats, so you can use it alone or in a group. Thank you for the meal! If you'd like, please check out my other reviews! I also have an Instagram (@ranko_foodie). Thank you!

I visited the restaurant with a friend at night. When we first arrived, we were ignored when we tried to get the staff's attention. After a few attempts, we were told to wait in a rude manner without making eye contact. At that point, I wanted to leave, but since we had a reservation, I endured and stood waiting. I value customer service as a key factor for revisiting a place, so I didn't have high expectations. However, the motsunabe was really delicious. Every dish we ordered was tasty, and it exceeded my expectations. The manager spoke casually to customers, and the overall service was a bit too casual for my liking, but it seemed well-intentioned, so I couldn't dislike them. They mentioned that the business was doing well, but considering the prices and the location, the service was quite careless, so I doubt I will revisit. It's a shame because the food is good.

We visited the restaurant on a cold Saturday night with three people. It was raining outside, and the window seat we sat at was a bit drafty. We decided to order the motsunabe as our main dish. The motsu was chewy and there was a generous amount, making it a great value for the price. For dessert, we had Hakata noodles. The thin noodles in the flavorful soup with motsu were delicious. Although the seating was a bit cramped, the restaurant was bright and clean.

The web series is delicious, so I keep coming back multiple times. I'm happy with the all-you-can-drink option for individual items! Despite being a woman, I drink a lot, but when I tried to order a large beer at the last call for the all-you-can-drink, I was told "You definitely can't handle it," which was very frustrating. I was absolutely confident that I could drink it, even though there have been many people who couldn't in the past...! I would have definitely negotiated if I had been alone! I wish they had said, "I'll double the payment if you can't finish it," but since they adamantly claimed that I couldn't drink it, I had to give up. There always seems to be a different man besides the manager, but their actions are always a bit off...! They don't even bring water, and the appetizer comes after the toast and the dishes... What's the point of the appetizer...!

Salted offal hot pot. The offal is chewy and delicious. It's packed with plenty of offal and vegetables, but it disappears quickly. There are also many different types of finishing dishes, which is nice. There are plenty of side dishes as well, and I tried ordering something like tongue with salt, which was also delicious.

I had reserved a table at a yakitori restaurant near Tokyo Station. The place was small and quite crowded. They were only accepting customers with reservations, and even ordering took some time. I switched to a bottle of wine from my second drink onwards, as it was self-service and stress-free. The skewers were all delicious, cooked and seasoned just right. I wish it was easier to drop by casually, but dining alone might be a bit lonely. I'll come back with friends when I crave for it. Thank you for the meal!

I have been to Aburi Shimizu in Shinbashi before, but this time I met with some former colleagues near Tokyo Station and decided to visit Aburi Shimizu Yaesu store located between Tokyo Station and Nihonbashi Station. We reserved seats at the counter, which was a small and cozy izakaya with a few tables. The atmosphere was open and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy motsunabe, especially during the winter season. This restaurant is known for its delicious yakitori, motsunabe, and horse sashimi. We ordered the special shio motsunabe (for 2 people), assorted liver skewers, and sake kasu cream cheese. We started with a toast with a glass of highball. The motsunabe was full of fresh and tender motsu with a deliciously spicy and salty flavor. The limited quantity ama liver skewers were a hit, perfect for liver lovers. They also offer other ama dishes like ama chire and ama hatsu. The rare cuts of meat were also very tasty, especially the fresh Joushu pork. The restaurant was almost full when we visited, so making a reservation is recommended. This place is a safe bet for delicious food, just like my previous experience at the Shinbashi location. Highly recommended!

I'm heading back from Tokyo Station, so I decided to have a drink at a bar near Tokyo Station. Tokyo is too urban, I don't know how to choose a place to eat. So, I searched for a place where I can drink lightly. It seems like a restaurant that serves motsu (offal) dishes, with its main branch in Shinbashi. It has a Shinbashi vibe, with salarymen around. They also serve motsu nabe (offal hot pot), but it starts from two servings, and I ate too much for lunch. So, I opted for motsu skewers for a casual drink!

Yaesu is in the midst of urban development with many zones under construction. The area is not as lively as it used to be. I happened to stumble upon Shimizu and decided to have a closing drink there. I ordered the "Choi drink set" (1080 yen) times three. I chose an oolong highball as my drink. It came with a small dish of onions and tripe mixed together, along with three skewers - shiro, harami, and kasira, I think? The food was consistent, but not particularly good value for the price. I added a "Vice Sour" and finished my drink. Shimizu has established a strong presence in Shinbashi, but I wonder if it's also packed on weekdays in Yaesu.

A restaurant located about a 3-minute walk from Tokyo Station Yaesu Central Exit. I visited for the first time around 2 PM on a weekday. The office area was under construction and not many people were around. It seemed like a relatively new restaurant, and since it was just after opening at 2 PM, there were no other customers. I had only reserved the all-you-can-drink option in advance, so I thought about drinking a lot, but maybe because it was still during working hours or maybe I just lacked the courage, I ended up having only 2 glasses of draft beer (Premium Malts) and one glass each of sweet potato shochu and rice shochu over the course of 2 hours. For food, I had Chorogi salad, a platter of 5 grilled pork tongue skewers, and a simmered dish. When I asked for the grilled pork tongue, they grilled each skewer one by one, probably because I was the only customer. The meat was fresh and well-grilled, and all of them were delicious. The simmered dish was a bit lighter in flavor than I expected. I had previously tried a grilled pork tongue restaurant inside Tokyo Station, but the atmosphere was not great. If you're looking for grilled pork tongue near Tokyo Station, I recommend this place!

Visited around 11:50 for lunch. The small restaurant has a counter with 5-6 seats and 3 tables for 2 people. The lunch menu includes pork bowl, ginger pork, and simmered tripe. Today, I had the ginger pork set meal for 900 yen. It took a bit of time as the pork is freshly grilled right in front of you. The set meal includes ginger pork, rice, side dish, and simmered tripe. There doesn't seem to be any soup. The ginger flavor in the pork was not very strong, but it tasted delicious with mayonnaise. The simmered tripe was light and tasty. It seems like tripe hot pot is the main dish for dinner, so I would like to come back at night. I enjoyed my meal today as well.

Aburi Shimizu Yaesu-guchi store has opened!! I have been to the main store in Shinbashi and it was very delicious♪ The seating is limited to 2 hours! The counter seats were also fully occupied♪ The complimentary Gatsupon vinegar is perfect for pairing with alcohol. The horse sashimi was fresh, and the grilled skewers were cooked perfectly! The main dish of motsunabe was simmered on the IH stove at the counter, but the staff also offer a service to cook it in the kitchen! I wanted to do it myself, so I simmered it at the table// For the finale, I added Parmesan cheese to make a risotto and finished it all! I will definitely visit again♪♪♪

While preparing the hot pot, I enjoyed the local specialties of Shimizu, Ami Liver and Ami Hatsu. The liver wrapped in beef fat was half-cooked and had a delicious flavor from the fat. The crispy texture of the Ami Hatsu also added to its deliciousness. After beer, I switched to Bai's and Hoppy, and then the motsu hot pot arrived. The motsu hot pot is available for two people and has a salty flavor. It is filled with plenty of tripe and cabbage, and the salty taste makes it light and delicious. The tripe is soft and warm. To finish, you can also have champon or zosui.

I visited for lunch. Due to the state of emergency, they are only open for lunch. I ordered the charcoal-grilled pork bowl lunch. The bowl was filled with so much meat that you couldn't see the rice, and it came with simmered tripe and gatsupon vinegar. As expected from a shop known for grilled tongue and tripe, which is part of a famous chain in Shinbashi. It was more filling than it looked, and I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I had some business in Tokyo and it was already past lunchtime, so I decided to look for a nearby restaurant on Tabelog and found "Aburi Shimizu Yaesu Store", so I decided to go there. The restaurant is located in Yaesu, surrounded by construction due to redevelopment. When I arrived at the restaurant, it had an open atmosphere where you could see everything inside. There were some other customers inside, but there were seats available, so I was seated at the counter by the staff. I ordered the "Charcoal-grilled Pork Bowl for 800 yen" and waited. When asked if I wanted a large portion of rice, I opted for a regular size. According to the description, the charcoal-grilled pork bowl is marinated in a secret special sauce, creating a perfect harmony with the rice, and the not too sweet and salty sauce is said to be addictive. With high expectations for the long-established secret sauce, the pork was grilled in front of me over charcoal. After a short wait, the charcoal-grilled pork bowl arrived. It came with a side dish (pickles) and stewed tripe. The pork bowl had more pork than I expected, topped with shishito peppers, white scallions, and chopped seaweed. I dug in right away. The combination of the sweet and salty sauce and the charcoal-grilled pork was delicious. It was recommended. The sauce soaked into the rice, making it tasty. The pickles and stewed tripe were also good, despite being small portions. I quickly finished the meal. It was a great value for 800 yen. It was so delicious that I was hooked on the charcoal-grilled pork bowl. Another satisfying meal.

I left work early and decided to visit a restaurant by myself. It was a little after 6 o'clock, and there were two groups of four customers each already seated at the counter. Since they didn't have a small set for drinks, I ordered individual items. The appetizer was generous, just as you would expect from a hormone restaurant. So, I decided to go for skewers of liver and intestines. The liver was delicious. Hmm, I couldn't help but be curious about the horse sashimi. Since I couldn't eat it alone, I ordered the Negitoro Yukhoe. I quickly drank a beer and then switched to sake. I was intrigued by a sake called Hagi no Tsuru, so I ordered it. It was my first time trying it, and it was refreshing yet flavorful, quite delicious. After about an hour, I started to feel a little tipsy, so I left a little after 7 o'clock. It was a pretty tasty restaurant, and they had a welcoming atmosphere for solo diners. I ended up spending a bit more because I went for some higher-priced items. Thank you for the meal.

I had a meeting in the mobile office in the morning, visited a client in Marunouchi in the afternoon, and had another meeting and finished up work in the mobile office in the evening. I left the office at 7 pm and saw a sign for a 990 yen "quick drink." There was only one group inside the shop. I thought it would be okay to stop by, so I went in. However, as soon as I entered, the staff approached me and said, "It's the last order," almost as if trying to drive me away. I reassured them that I would leave soon and just wanted a quick drink. They let me stay. It seems a bit excessive that alcohol service is only until 7 pm as requested by the government. If the business hours are until 8 pm, alcohol should be allowed until 7:30 pm. I hope they adjust the request accordingly. I sat at the counter, keeping my distance from the other customer, and ordered a highball. Along with the drink, I was served Mimi-garlic vinegar in a small dish, which was quite delicious. It had been a while since I drank outside. Then, they brought me some grilled offal. I didn't choose the cut or sauce, but the offal they served was surprisingly tasty. The salt was a bit strong, but the grilling was done perfectly, making it juicy and delicious. I had visited Aburi Shimizu once before near Kudan Minami, and I remember it being a very delicious place that stayed open late. Now, with the restriction on alcohol sales until 7 pm, I can see how it's not profitable. Despite that, I still hope to be greeted with a smile. I enjoyed three skewers of offal with a highball and left in 20 minutes. It was nice to have some offal after a long time. I can't have hot skewers at home, so I appreciate this quick drink experience.

Visited on the way back from a business trip to Tokyo. Just across the road from Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station. When it comes to Tokyo bars, yakitori and Hoppy are a must, and you can enjoy them near Tokyo Station. Upon entering, I ordered Hoppy and potato salad while waiting for the yakitori. It was fun to watch them grill the yakitori right in front of you with charcoal. The staff's service was also excellent. The white meat was sweet and the chicken head was juicy. The yakitori was delicious. When I ordered the liver skewers, they were also juicy and flavorful with sesame and green onions. I had a great time enjoying Tokyo's bar scene near Tokyo Station.

I missed the last Shinkansen train and had to stay near Tokyo Station. I checked into the convenient Metropolitan Hotel connected to the station and called my brother who lives in Tokyo. While waiting for him, I searched for nearby restaurants on Tabelog, but most were closing early and there were few options open after midnight. However, I found this restaurant that stays open until 3 am. I had planned to eat hormone hot pot, but it was too hot, so I ended up ordering skewers and sashimi instead. I highly recommend the assortment of 10 grilled Joshu pork skewers! Each skewer is quite generous, and splitting it in half still leaves you satisfied. The horse meat was fresh and delicious, and the pickled vegetables were a nice palate cleanser. The hormone hot pot in an iron pot was spicier than I had imagined, so those who are not fans of spicy food should be cautious. Considering the quality of the food available late at night near Tokyo Station, the bill was quite reasonable. The man running the place single-handedly was efficient and it was enjoyable to watch him work.
