On Friday at 7:30 PM, the main branch was fully booked the day before. Even on the day, there were signs at the sister stores indicating they were full. Since there was a short wait at Hanare no Hanare, we quickly put our names on the board and waited. One group wasn't at the storefront, which was lucky. I met up with a friend after a long time and we were able to get in within 5 minutes. My friend recommended Meheji Main Store, which was delicious, but all the branches seem to be popular with long lines. However, the staff who greeted us was very unfriendly, which made me worried. Other than that, the staff were friendly, took our orders, and cooked for us, which was good. It's reassuring to have them cook for us without any mistakes. However, you may have to wait a bit as they cook in order. I recommend ordering some appetizers in advance. It was nice to be able to chat comfortably with my close friend, but it might be tough with someone you can't talk to easily. We ordered squid grilled whole, seafood monjayaki, pork and egg, teppanyaki sweet potatoes, and other teppanyaki dishes, salad, and appetizers. For drinks, we had sake and matcha highball, and the total was 5,500 yen per person. Everything was delicious, but the standout was the teppanyaki sweet potatoes. I highly recommend it. We overstayed the 2-hour limit. Sorry about that. Thank you for your understanding. It was a great meal.

I revisited the always bustling Moheji. Both the main store and the branch were full, so I ended up at the annex of the annex. It's definitely a good idea to make a reservation. If you don't, you'll end up waiting on the bench outside. The staff are busy but still provide friendly service. All the menu items are delicious.

I turned down narrow alleys from the station and arrived at the restaurant, thinking I had a reservation but was able to enter smoothly. It was 12:00 on a weekday. I ordered a serving of squid ink monjayaki. Since it was my first time, I didn't know the portion size, so when I finished eating, I was asked to order another dish for each person, and I was already 80% full. I reluctantly ordered the cucumber with meat miso, leaving behind 480 yen. It couldn't be helped, but the monjayaki was really delicious.

The food was delicious and stable, but the service was unsatisfactory. Despite empty seats, I was asked to wait for a while and then left outside for a bit. Orders were generally slow to arrive, and I started to feel anxious about whether they had forgotten my order. The chilled tomatoes were kind of mushy and not very tasty.

We visited the restaurant with two people around 11 am on a holiday. When hot days continue, I sometimes have a strong craving for monja. Am I the only one? We aimed for the main branch of Moheji, but both the main branch and the annex had long queues. As we looked around, we noticed a less crowded annex across the street. We decided to line up there since there was only one group waiting. What we ordered: - Whole grilled squid with liver, butter, and soy sauce \1,408 - Mentaiko mochi monja with cheese \2,068 - Squid ink monja with cheese \2,178 The whole grilled squid with liver, butter, and soy sauce was fresh and the meat was tender. The liver, butter, and soy sauce were rich but not too bitter, making it easy to enjoy with drinks. The mentaiko mochi monja with cheese was as expected, delicious. The squid ink monja had a strong garlic flavor, almost like risotto. It was a bit mysterious that the filling was octopus instead of squid. Overall, the seafood dishes were tasty, being directly managed by the Toyosu Market fish wholesaler. Adding cheese toppings is always a safe bet. The staff working quickly to prepare the dishes was fun to watch. Thank you for the meal.

Oh yeah, today is Monja night, oh yeah. So, I went to Tsukishima Monja Street. I arrived in Tsukishima around 6 pm and looked for a shop to enter. I quickly found "Mohaji Hanare no Hanare" where we could enter right away. Being from Kansai, I am not familiar with Monja. I ordered the "Mentaiko Mochi Monja (1580 yen)" and the "Gomoku Monja (1580 yen)" for starters. The Mentaiko Mochi Monja arrived first. The staff recommended adding cheese toppings, so I went for it. This one is soy sauce-based Monja with plenty of ingredients and a good volume. The crispy texture of the grilled mentaiko is amazing. When I think of Monja, I personally think of the ones I saw in Kochikame. I like to stretch it thinly for a crispy texture. However, the staff left it in chunks, so I secretly stretched it out. Next came the Gomoku Monja. This one has a sauce base and a nice Monja taste. Maybe this is due to the Kansai sauce culture. Octopus, satsuma-age, yakisoba, etc., very satisfying. It's interesting to have yakisoba in Monja. Feeling a bit uneasy with just two dishes, I also ordered the "Buta Kimchi Monja (1480 yen)". The Buta Kimchi Monja was a bit questionable. It had a strong smell of leeks rather than pork and kimchi. This one was intense with the added cheese. I carefully enjoyed the last burnt bits on the hot plate and said, "It was delicious!" Personally, I felt that the first two dishes were enough to enjoy Monja fully. It may seem light, but it fills you up surprisingly. Also, if you arrive around 6 pm, there will be a long line, so it's better to make a reservation or arrive early.

We had a meal with four people, including someone from out of town, at a popular restaurant that specializes in monjayaki in Tsukishima. The restaurant is located near the main branch, with another branch nearby, and a new one opening soon. We ordered the seafood monjayaki, which the staff cooked for us. The squid legs were mixed with squid salted guts, which became more flavorful as it cooked. The squid ink monjayaki was rich and creamy, with a modern twist on the traditional dish. The squid ink added a nice umami flavor. Overall, it was delicious.

Second stop at Monja Street. This restaurant had a wait of 4 groups, but we decided to endure it and line up since we wanted to compare the taste at popular places. After about 20 minutes, we were called inside. We thought about ordering the same thing for comparison, but what caught our interest was the "Ume-Tako Buta Nori Monja." Just as the name suggests, it had a messy, monja-like appearance. Excitedly, we took a bite of the finished monja... Hmm. It tasted like pickled plums. It was overwhelmingly plum-flavored. I'm from Osaka, so I rarely have the chance to eat monja and had high expectations, but my initial impression was that there isn't much difference in taste between the different places. Oh! It's not that it wasn't delicious, but I thought that no matter where you eat it, it's probably delicious in its own way. That was my night in Tsukishima.

I visited Monja To Moheji in Tsukishima, but the main store had long lines, so I ended up at a smaller branch called Hanare. I tried the mentaiko mochi cheese monja and pork tamago. The okonomiyaki had a unique texture and was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I went to Monja Street in Tsukishima for the first time and chose the popular restaurant Moheji. Although the main store of Moheji had a long line, I decided to go to a different branch. I'm not sure how it differs from the main store, but the authentic monja was delicious. It was nice that the staff cooked it for us, but it was a bit disappointing that our drinks were empty by the time the food was ready due to the small portion.

A friend made a reservation for me and I tried Monjayaki in Tsukishima for the first time. We arrived at 7pm and there were already a few people waiting outside the restaurant, so it's definitely a popular place! I was eager to eat as soon as possible. Since I can't cook okonomiyaki or monjayaki myself, I was grateful that this restaurant cooks it for you! It's definitely tastier when the staff cooks it for you. I was so focused on eating that I didn't take many photos, which is a shame, but I ate a lot. I tried mentaiko mochi monja with cheese topping, seafood tamago modern yaki, yakitori, and omu soba, and they were all delicious. I would love to try other varieties next time.

I went to Monja Street for sightseeing. I arrived early so I was able to get in smoothly, but by around 11:30, there was already a line forming. I recommend the squid ink monja with cheese topping! The pork and leek monja is also delicious and impressive! The service takes a bit of time, so I recommend going with some extra time to spare!

I came here after seeing a YouTuber feature it - a long-established monjayaki restaurant called "Moheji". However, this place is one of the three branches on Monja Street, called "Hanare no Hanare". The main store had a long line outside, and the other branch was fully booked, but here at "Hanare no Hanare", we were able to enter without waiting. We tried the recommended dish, mentaiko mochi monjayaki with cheese topping, along with beer. It was filled with mentaiko and had a great flavor. I don't visit monjayaki restaurants often, so I can't compare it to others, but it was really delicious. I ended up drinking two beers. Ah, it was so tasty. #Tsukishima #monjayaki #Moheji #mentaiko mochi cheese monjayaki

We were lined up, but the turnover was faster at the neighboring main store, so we didn't have to wait long. The mentaiko mochi cheese okonomiyaki was delicious. The staff seemed busy and didn't come over quickly. It was a 2-hour limit, so I wanted to cook okonomiyaki and other items all at once, but when I tried to do it myself, the fire wouldn't ignite, so that was a waste of time.

Sightseeing in Tokyo after moving from Asakusa. I wanted to try authentic monjayaki among Tokyo's specialties, so I came here for the first time in about 15 years. The previous restaurant I went to was closed, so I ended up canceling and moving to "Moheji Hanare no Hanare" across the street because the staff were the ones cooking there according to the sign. The sign here said, "Staff can cook upon request." Since my daughter doesn't like seafood, we decided to customize our monjayaki with our favorite ingredients. We topped the plain monjayaki with corn, cheese, mochi, pork belly, and egg. When the monjayaki arrived, I couldn't resist and started eating without taking photos. About halfway through, we mixed in the beaten egg, creating a fluffy omelet-like texture which was quite interesting. I was really curious about the squid ink monjayaki, but my daughter shot down the idea. I'd love to come back if I have the chance.

I visited without a reservation. Even though it was 2:00 pm, there was quite a long line! But I was able to get in after about 30 minutes, so it wasn't too stressful. I ordered the "Mentaiko Mochi Monja" dish. The seafood broth paired perfectly with the mentaiko and it was delicious! They had a wide variety of alcohol options as well, which was nice. I would like to try the seafood monja next time...

There are hardly any photos, but I didn't take any because Monja doesn't look good in pictures, haha. I love Monja so much that I even went to the Tsukishima store for the first time to try the stylish squid ink risotto Monja at Scramble Square. It was a bit crowded, maybe because of the bad weather, but we were able to get in quickly! And as always, it was delicious... It was a shame that there were only two of us, so we could only try one type of Monja!

Monjayaki Moheji Hanare no Hanare Teppan Ankomoji is what it is! Perhaps Moheji-san has come a few times before, but this time I felt motivated to take photos and write a review. Upon closer review, the monjayaki, under the name of Tsukishima Monja, lives up to its reputation, using high-quality seafood ingredients, although the prices are accordingly high. However, it feels like they are capitalizing on the Tsukishima brand, giving off a somewhat business-like vibe. While there are good points, there are also disappointing aspects, resulting in a slightly positive overall impression. On the other hand, the teppanyaki was a bit sloppy. It felt like it would have been better if we cooked it ourselves, as there were too many burnt parts. The staff consisted of young women, which is not bad from a male perspective and is also appealing to groups of young people. Their communication skills seemed to be a secret to their popularity. The big discovery of Teppan Ankomoji was the highlight of this visit. I later made Teppan Ankomoji at home using my own mochi and anko, and it was absolutely amazing. Next, I would like to try Moheji in Ueno. Unlike Tsukishima, Ueno Monja is full of foreigners. I don't know when I will go, but my target for monjayaki is Ueno. That's all for now.

Arrived at Monja Street around 11 o'clock on Saturday. All the famous shops had similar long lines, so we put our names down at Hanare to Hanare and Okoge and waited for 1 hour and 10 minutes until we were called into Hanare no Hanare. It seems to take over an hour for the first round of customers to start coming out after the shop opens. It was a bit difficult to gauge the waiting time as it had been about 25 minutes since we realized it was almost our turn and no one had come out yet. (If you have plans after, it's better to go to a place where you can make a reservation.) My companion wanted to try the Mentaiko Mochi Cheese, so we lined up at Moheji, and as expected, the Monja was made by the staff and was delicious with a rich dashi flavor. On the other hand, the yakisoba at Moheji was not as good, as the noodles felt powdery. Maybe the boiling was too sweet? It was a bit disappointing, but even as a Kansai person, I could still enjoy the Monja very much. Thank you for the meal.

Monja at Tsukishima was actually my first time trying it. I thought monja was just mixing ingredients and seasoning, and they would all taste the same no matter where you go. But it was totally different! The teppanyaki dishes were all delicious, and they even grilled the squid liver, which went well with alcohol. While okonomiyaki was just average, the monja was a whole different level. The mentaiko mochi monja with cream was creamy and delicious. The cooking and grilling were done perfectly, and the staff cooked most of the dishes for us, so they were served just right. It was really delicious. I will definitely be coming back.
