Today's lunch was at Maruya in Otemachi. I've been to several Maruya locations around here, so I like to try different ones. I prefer lean meat over fatty meat, so I debated between choosing pork tenderloin or pork loin for my set meal. In the end, I went with the pork loin cutlet set with extra rice and topped with grated ponzu sauce to make it refreshing. Being in an office district, the service was quick. Surprisingly, the pork loin cutlet wasn't very fatty, allowing me to enjoy the deliciousness of the meat without feeling overwhelmed by the fat. When eaten with the grated ponzu sauce, it was incredibly refreshing with hardly any fatty taste. The rice was cooked slightly firm and tasted great, complementing the tonkatsu perfectly. The clam miso soup was rich in flavor and delicious, making it a satisfying meal. Maruya never disappoints, I will definitely be back. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I came to the Palace Building clinic for a human body check-up. After it's done, I received a 1000 yen food and drink voucher. Feeling lazy, I decided to eat at the tonkatsu restaurant in the same building. It's been a while since I had tonkatsu. The first thing that caught my eye was the thick-cut Jason... I mean, thick-cut pork cutlet. Without hesitation, I ordered it. I used to go to tonkatsu restaurants a step above this one, so honestly, when it arrived, I felt a bit unsatisfied. The thinness of the shredded cabbage, the sauce, the taste of miso soup, the batter of the cutlet... well, considering the price, I couldn't really complain. It was tasty, especially when eaten with mustard. Considering the location, it's a good deal. The B-grade gourmet guy will definitely try the one-step-up tonkatsu next time!

I noticed that Otemachi is a hidden gem for lunch on weekends and decided to visit. When I arrived after 2pm, there were only a few customers as a group was leaving. I ordered the famous pork cutlet set meal. The freshly fried cutlet was too hot for my tongue, but the deliciousness was undeniable. Although extra rice was charged, the large serving was free, making it a great value for only 700 yen.

This is a recommended restaurant! I tried the special pork cutlet set meal, limited to 5 servings per day. It cost 1200 yen. They use a premium cut of pork fillet weighing 160g. I was able to enjoy a luxurious taste. I want to go back to eat again soon. Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by on my way home from work. I had the thick-cut pork loin set meal. It cost 1300 yen, which I thought was quite reasonable as I waited. The portion was generous because of the thick-cut, but I didn't find it delicious. It seems to be a chain restaurant, but I prefer Shinjuku Saboten and Wako. Although I can't pinpoint exactly why I didn't find it delicious, maybe the slightly lower price affected the taste. Everything from the batter, frying method, and ingredients felt a little different.

(December 2022) There is hand sanitizer at the entrance. The staff are wearing masks. (28th December 2022) This restaurant is located in the basement of the Palace Building. After a health check-up, I received a meal ticket and visited around noon. It soon became full. I ordered a set of fried shrimp and white fish (including tax, 1,000 yen). It came with a miso soup with a few clams and pickled radish. I have been to other Maruya restaurants before, and I felt this one was not as good as those, but considering the inflation period, I was satisfied with the price. I might have been better off choosing the tonkatsu. I think the music playing was piano jazz.

Tonkatsu Maruya, located in the Marunouchi Palace Building, offers lunch sets for under 1,000 yen. This restaurant is mainly located in the basements of various office buildings. I ordered the Rosukatsu set for 700 yen on this day. The cabbage was plentiful and the katsu was freshly fried with a crispy coating. It was very delicious! Since June 2022, they no longer offer free refills on rice and miso soup, but now they give a free extra serving of rice. The quality, price, and location make this place high in cost performance. You can also add various toppings, so I would like to visit again and try different toppings. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch adventure took me to the area around Otemachi Station. Exiting the underground ticket gate of Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line Otemachi Station, I followed the signs towards the Palace Hotel Tokyo, where I found the restaurant I visited today, Tonkatsu Maruya Marunouchi Palace Store. Arriving at the store front at 12:30 on a weekday, I saw two men waiting at the entrance, so I lined up behind them. A female staff member was cleaning a table, and after seating the previous customers, she guided me to an available counter seat. The restaurant had table seating on the right and towards the back, with the kitchen on the left and the counter seats in front of it. I took the fifth seat from the back on the left side and looked at the menu. The menu included lunch options like pork cutlet set meals, katsudon, curry, and fried fish set meals, as well as recommended dishes like special pork cutlet set meals. I ordered the pork cutlet set meal, which arrived after a 10-minute wait. The set meal included pork cutlet, cabbage, miso soup, and pickles. The freshly fried pork cutlet had a crispy golden coating and a juicy, flavorful meat inside. I tried a piece with salt, then without anything, and finally with mustard, finding that the sauce and mustard combination worked best. The cabbage, pickles, and miso soup with clams complemented the meal perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed my pork cutlet meal at Tonkatsu Maruya and left feeling satisfied both in my stomach and wallet. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Before you know it, it seems that extra servings of miso soup and rice have become charged. The miso soup seems to have become thin and has a slightly old oil smell, making it heavy. The pork cutlet, although thin, is a bit tough and the coating comes off easily. The cabbage and daikon were delicious! The yuzu-scented pickled daikon was good. Topping with white fish was delicious. The tonkatsu might be tastier at Katsuya. I recognize this place as having the cheapest lunch near Otemachi Station. The affordability is impressive.

The large crispy bread crumbs, fluffy white fish, and tartar sauce were delicious. The shrimp fry was also huge, with two pieces! The Marunouchi lunch for 1000 yen including tax seems like a good deal. The red miso soup with clams was unique. It seems you can get refills of rice and red miso soup.

When I went to Marunouchi for business, I used a tonkatsu restaurant. They offer a Rosukatsu set for 700 yen, which is quite reasonable for Marunouchi. The food is delicious and freshly fried even though it's cheap. I went a little before the lunch break and was able to get in easily, but it seems like it would be crowded during lunchtime.

Located near the Imperial Palace, this place offers a tonkatsu set meal for 700 yen, which is quite a deal. During lunchtime, it gets crowded with office workers, but at other times, there are usually empty seats. After 2 pm, you can also order the ginger pork, which is priced at 800 yen. It's a healthier option compared to fried foods. Made with thick slices of pork loin, it's more like a pork ginger dish rather than the typical ginger pork with onions and mayo. The sauce is a sweet and savory traditional Japanese flavor with a strong ginger taste. The pork is tender and juicy, with a nice balance of crispy and fatty parts. Considering the location, price, and quality of the meat, it's definitely worth trying.

Thanks to the state of emergency declaration, teleworking has advanced, and even during lunchtime in the Otemachi area, it's easy to find a seat without waiting in line. I can only imagine how tough it must be for the restaurants. This time, I ordered a pork cutlet set for 700 yen and added a minced cutlet for 300 yen. It takes a bit of time, but freshly fried tonkatsu is delicious!! When you eat it with salt, the rice goes down so easily (laughs). It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Since my lifestyle has shifted to mainly teleworking, my visits to Maruya in Otemachi for lunch have drastically decreased. This time, I ordered the classic pork cutlet set meal (700 yen) with an additional shrimp fry (200 yen). It's a popular spot, so there was a bit of a wait for the order, but the freshly fried crispy tonkatsu and delicious rice make it worth lining up. Once again, I enjoyed my meal here - thank you for the delicious food!

Located in the basement of Palace Hotel, there are many tonkatsu restaurants in Marunouchi and Otemachi. I tried the special rosu katsu set meal for 1,000 yen. The cooking area is relaxed with only one chef, different from the busy atmosphere in Shinbashi. The food arrived in 10 minutes, with a generous portion of meat. I used various condiments like salt and sauce on the table. The price starting from 1,000 yen in Marunouchi and Otemachi makes me wonder about the cost of the meat. The restaurant has a variety of options, and overall it was a satisfying experience.

I went to the Otemachi office for the first time in a while. I decided to have lunch in Otemachi as well, but I wasn't sure what was open. I thought maybe the Palace Hotel would be open, so I visited. Luckily, it was open. This time, I ordered the pork cutlet set with added shrimp fry on top! The pork cutlet was only 700 yen, which is a great deal for Otemachi lunch, and it was crispy and delicious. I enjoyed it with salt. The pork cutlet was juicy and tasty. The shrimp fry was also crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It was delicious as always. I had a satisfying meal. Thank you. Note: Previously, only cash was accepted during lunchtime, but now transportation IC cards and credit cards are also accepted. Just for your information.

On Monday, I commuted to the Otemachi office, so I had curry for lunch. I stopped by Tokyo Station and went to Marunouchi for lunch. The tonkatsu at Maruya is delicious, cheap, and they serve barley tea as the complimentary drink. They have a pot of barley tea right in front of you, so it's convenient for refills. The curry is sweet and savory, which I really like! It's my favorite flavor.

Tonkatsu restaurant located in the basement of Palace Hotel, just a short walk from Otemachi Station on the Toei Mita Line. They have multiple branches in office areas like Shinbashi, offering reasonably priced meals. Visited around 5 pm on a weekday after missing lunch. The restaurant is long and narrow, with table and counter seats available. Ordered the cheapest option, "Rosu Katsu Teishoku (¥700)". They also have a special "Tokurosu 180g (¥1000)" only available at this branch, which is 1.5 times the price. Rice and miso soup are refillable. The food arrived in about 6 minutes. The Rosu Katsu was a bit thin, around 5mm. The breading was made of fresh breadcrumbs, giving it a coarse and crunchy texture. The sauce was a sweet and rich medium-thick type. The meat might have been fried a bit too much as the flavor was weak, so I enjoyed it with some soy sauce. The cabbage portion was generous, although refills are not allowed. The miso soup was red and rich, with clams in it. Compared to a few years ago, it seemed a bit thinner and drier. It seems like the regular Rosu Katsu can be hit or miss, so the special menu items might be a safer choice. The location offers good value for money, and I would like to try the special Tokurosu Katsudon next time.

I had the Nagisiko Rosukatsu. The restaurant, Tonkatsu Maruya, is located in the basement of the Palace Hotel. It is a very popular tonkatsu restaurant in Otemachi. The tonkatsu is delicious, and they have many branches in Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho. Their bento boxes are also popular. I went around 3 o'clock today and it was not crowded. I waited about 10 minutes and the freshly fried tonkatsu arrived. It was a tender pork loin cutlet. It was very delicious. It was freshly fried, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. It was truly a delicious tonkatsu. #Tonkatsu Maruya Marunouchi Palace Store

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I visited this restaurant after a long time. It is located in the city center and offers a rare cost-effective lunch with a pork cutlet set meal for 700 yen. The rice is delicious, and I couldn't help but get seconds without adjusting the side dishes. This place is so tempting! This time, I topped the pork cutlet set meal with a minced cutlet (300 yen) and enjoyed my lunch by using salt, sauce, and chili in various combinations. Ah, it was so delicious! Thank you for the meal!
