Visit on a Monday afternoon. Was seated at the counter right away, so I'm not sure if there were any other customers. Asked to sanitize hands, so I think they are conscious of hygiene. Ordered the lunch menu available only on weekdays. Got the large portion Chirashi for 1,190 yen. - Salad: Salad with a dressing flavored with green shiso. It was pretty tasty. - Soup: The soup and the fish in it had a light flavor, but it was really delicious. Probably the best clear soup I've ever had. The fish might have been yellowtail. - Side dish: Simmered squid and daikon. Delicious. - Chirashi: Tasty. The large portion had a good amount of food. It's hard to pick a favorite ingredient though. - Other: Hot tea was served, probably green tea. You have to ask for a refill even when your cup is empty, but that's understandable during the busiest lunch hour. Overall, I was satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

It's a traditional sushi restaurant that has been around for a long time. When you enter the shop, there is a counter right away, and there is a large tatami room in the back. It was just past 12 o'clock on a weekday, and there was only one other customer. I ordered the lunch set "Yama-ya Gozen" (1850 yen). It comes with 7 pieces of sushi, a roll, side dishes, salad, a small dish, and crab miso soup. The sushi tastes like the kind you would have at traditional events, and it feels nostalgic. While conveyor belt sushi places like Sushiro are popular, I think these kinds of restaurants are also valuable.

The restaurant is conveniently located near the station, making it convenient for lunch. I ordered the chirashi and found that it had a decent amount of sushi rice and the fish pieces were quite large, making it a great option for lunch.

It's a great sushi restaurant. Just the right kind of sushi restaurant for us common folk. It would be nice to have one in every town. This place in Nakanocho is just perfect - only a 1-2 minute walk from the station, convenient location. And the prices are reasonable, too. A sushi set for lunch for 980 yen... that's quite cheap, isn't it? You don't often find prices like that even in family restaurants, right? Maybe that's the pricing for lunch sushi at conveyor belt sushi restaurants? But here, the owner personally prepares the sushi right in front of you. It's a whole different level compared to conveyor belt sushi. Although, if you find a skilled chef at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, they can also serve good sushi. But one thing that conveyor belt sushi restaurants can never provide is the right amount of tension. As soon as I walked through the curtain, I felt that perfect amount of tension, which made me feel more alert. The couple who run the place are very humble and quiet. As I waited with a drink in hand, the only sounds were the air pump for the fish tank and the sound of the knife. First, they served a small dish and salad, so there was no stress during the wait. Then, they brought out 6 pieces of nigiri, 1 gunkan-maki, and a hosomaki on a geta (wooden shoe-shaped plate). The selection of fish is quite traditional, but it's presented with such dignity. In terms of taste, it's at a standard level for a non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant. But the presentation and the owner's attitude are impeccable. Don't you feel like sushi restaurants are like martial arts, seeking a sense of beauty? It was a fulfilling experience. I highly recommend this sushi restaurant. They also offer a "roll set meal" for 760 yen, and even a "Yamayagozen" for 1850 yen for a little luxury. It's just a delightful sushi restaurant. If you're nearby, you should definitely check it out for lunch.

I felt like eating sushi after a long time and decided to visit the restaurant after checking out the food review. I arrived around 6 pm on a weekday after the long weekend, and there were already 4 groups of local regular customers. The restaurant had about 8 counter seats right as you enter. Since I went with my family, we were seated in the back tatami area, which felt surprisingly deep, with about 50 seats. I ordered a cold Asahi Super Dry beer, which was deliciously chilled. I then ordered Set A, which included various nigiri sushi like tuna, tamago, ikura, ebi, along with a sashimi assortment, snow crab, and soup for ¥3675. I also ordered natto maki for my child. Additionally, I ordered some individual pieces like anago, kanpachi, botan ebi, uni, and others. While the rice-to-fish ratio was not exactly to my preference, I still enjoyed the meal. The service was excellent, with the female owner smiling throughout, leaving a good impression. We left feeling full after spending just over ¥10,000 for two people (excluding the child), so the cost-performance ratio was good!

I made a reservation to revisit KinKi-Ni and went out, but I have never eaten anything with such a good balance of flavors as the KinKi-Ni here. It is simmered slowly, so the sweet and deep sauce blends perfectly with the tender taste of the KinKi, making you want to collapse. Of course, besides KinKi-Ni, there are other unique dishes like grilled salted yellowtail, octopus with vinegar, and grilled turban shell that you can only taste here. At "Yamaya" in Nakanobu, you can order some appetizers, eat them thoroughly, and then finish with 5-6 pieces of sushi. It's important to note that this is not a place where you go just to eat sushi, so be careful. Eating only sushi at a place like this may lead to a lower rating because you won't fully appreciate the essence. I revisited and the grilled salted yellowtail was cooked perfectly. The portion size and saltiness were excellent! Despite being lightly salted, the flavor stands out. When you break it with chopsticks, it is soft and juicy. Eat it all at once while it's piping hot. Of course, since it's a sushi restaurant, they also serve sashimi and good quality tuna from Oma. They can accommodate various orders, so you can ask for smaller portions of rice if you prefer. The vinegar rice is slightly sweet, which is a matter of personal preference. However, the salads, grilled fish, and simmered fish are also incredibly delicious. Since you can't see the inside, it may be difficult for passersby to enter at first glance. However, it is popular with locals, and the back tatami room is always bustling. When you enter, there are 6-8 counter seats near the entrance, and as you go further back, the tatami room stretches long and narrow. There is a fish tank next to the counter with live fish such as horse mackerel and sea bream swimming. You can order sushi as a set or have it made at the counter. A local-oriented sushi restaurant that serves substantial meals with reasonable prices. They also serve grilled turban shell wrapped in seaweed, which is delicious. The salad is served in a shellfish-shaped dish, and they generously provide a lot of it. You can eat heartily here. If you want to have a healthy meal in Nakanobu, their salad and a few pieces of sushi may be the best choice. Although it may seem difficult to enter at first, the usability of the restaurant is good. The back tatami room can accommodate about 8 groups, but on weekends, it's best to make a reservation as competition is high. The owner and his wife are very friendly, so if you visit a few times, you should be able to make various requests.

We went to this sushi restaurant for the first time with three people because it is in the neighborhood. We usually go to sushi restaurants in Jiyugaoka, Ginza, or Ebisu, but we wanted to try a nearby place that was also delicious. We sat in the back tatami room and ordered sushi and chawanmushi. The chawanmushi was delicious. However, we were disappointed with the sushi as all the toppings lacked freshness, even though we ordered a lot at once. We should have not ordered so much sushi at first. The other two people were also surprised. Since there are not many sushi restaurants in the neighborhood, we had high expectations, but unfortunately, it did not meet them. It might be better to order boiled or grilled fish, or other side dishes here instead of sushi. It's disappointing, but we won't be coming back next time.

Basically, it is a normal sushi restaurant in a residential area. It's more like an izakaya where you can also find grilled dishes and salads on the menu. They also prepare fish like horse mackerel and striped jack from the tank. It's a sushi restaurant that can be used as an izakaya. If you want a more traditional sushi experience, you can try places like "Kimi Sushi" in Hatanodai or "Koto Sushi" in Gotanda which has some creative dishes. For affordability and casual dining, you can visit "Ken Sushi" in Naka-Meguro. For group gatherings, "Sennari Sushi" in Ebara-cho is a good option. I like to switch between these places depending on the occasion.

This may be the only sushi restaurant in the Naka-Noboricho area. The quality of the ingredients is generally good, but because there are many regular customers, it seems that you need to visit regularly to get the best sushi. They also have private rooms, so it might be a good place for gatherings. The cheerful female owner left a good impression. The cost performance is average, so if you want to eat sashimi, the nearby Shimajin may offer better value. However, if you feel like eating sushi occasionally but don't want to go to a high-end place, this restaurant is convenient. They also offer lunch, so trying it out for lunch first might be a good idea.

I always thought this place was a bit intimidating and never went in, but when I heard about the 20th anniversary "Big Thanksgiving Festival", I decided to check it out. Inside, it was much more spacious than I expected, with tatami seating seeming to be the main area. I ordered the Oma bluefin tuna akami for 2000 yen, snow crab for 1500 yen, Thai kabuto simmered dish for about 1000 yen, and a set of nigiri sushi. The bluefin tuna akami was priced at 2000 yen as a special offer... is this the usual price range? It was okay, but didn't feel like a great deal. The snow crab, usually priced at 2100 yen, was on sale for 1500 yen due to the anniversary. The portion was generous, but the taste was like supermarket frozen crab. However, it was cheap so it was okay. The nigiri sushi was disappointing, with too much rice squeezed tightly. But the highlight was the Thai kabuto simmered dish!! I ordered it first and it finally arrived when we were about to leave, but it was worth it. It was cheap and big, with a rich flavor that pairs well with alcohol. The total bill for two people with three beers, two sake, and the dishes mentioned above came to 10000 yen. It might be worth visiting as an izakaya.

Lunch in Naka-Meguro. Today I had a bento box. This is Yama-ya! The restaurant is located near the intersection of Naka-Meguro Station and the shopping street. A nice spot in this area. The exterior of the restaurant looks quite elegant. Normally, they offer a somewhat pricey lunch menu. But due to the coronavirus, they are currently only offering bento boxes. I bought a 1200 yen bento box and took it home. Since I have gastritis, I opted for a bento box with mainly grilled fish, with a small portion of sashimi (even though raw fish isn't recommended for gastritis, I sometimes crave it...). Let's dig in! Mmm, the grilled fish is delicious! The flavor of the fish is seeping through, so tasty! The sashimi also has a nice firm texture and is very fresh. Delicious. The simmered dish is also tasty. The high quality of the dishes really reflects the skills of a traditional Japanese restaurant! I'm sure their regular menu is also delicious! I hope the coronavirus situation improves soon! Thank you for the meal!
