This is a quaint restaurant with an elderly owner running the place alone. They serve unique vegetable sushi like myoga, green onions, and shiitake mushrooms, which are delicious. They also offer two types of conger eel, salted and with bones, making it an interesting sushi spot. The taste is great and the prices are reasonable, but the only downside is that the service is extremely fast. There were only two reservations on the day we visited, so there didn't seem to be a reason for the rush. It seems to be their usual pace. It was a bit difficult to enjoy the meal fully as we were eating so quickly, and we didn't get to drink much alcohol.

In Kinshicho, after finishing my errands, I decided to explore for a dinner spot. As I walked along the Tower View Street, I stumbled upon a restaurant that seemed perfect for my mood. I opted for the omakase set under 5,000 yen and it was satisfying. The highlight for me was the ayu sushi. The set included tamagoyaki, chutoro, aburi toro, kobujime, uni-topped squid, anago with sauce, anago with salt, ayu, squid, shiitake mushroom, ikura, and a sushi roll.

The sushi set with 7 pieces of nigiri and 3 rolls is reasonably priced at 3,000 yen. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building in a bustling area in Kinshicho. The handcrafted nigiri sushi was of high quality and delicious, offering good value for the price. Thank you for the meal.

The quality at that price is too high for the cost performance. This was my 10th time visiting, and when I had something of similar quality in Ginza, it cost four times as much. The owner is very friendly, the atmosphere of the shop is lovely, and I have truly become captivated. The egg omelette is like a chewy pudding, and I enjoy it every time. I will visit again soon!

I heard a story from my company president a while ago and recently visited the place for the first time. I had sashimi, sushi, and chawanmushi in that order. The striped horse mackerel was delicious all the way to the skin, and the flat shellfish had a unique texture that shellfish lovers would appreciate. The conger eel was prepared with just the right amount of sweetness. The chawanmushi with salmon roe was a perfect match for the sake. When I asked for the bill, a bowl arrived. The hot miso soup at the end warmed my whole body. I was touched by their consideration. As I was leaving, I asked the chef if he remembered me, and it seemed like he did because he said he would look forward to my next visit. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I am in Kinshicho. At Junten Zaru Udon Goro, I had a hot noodle so now it's time for a double meal (laughs). Even at 66, I'm still a kid. Coffee and cake? Another bowl of udon? Maybe sushi after all, if I can find a good place. Walking from Goro towards the station on the main street, I found a big sushi restaurant near the bus stop. It's okay here, but I'm hoping for a small sushi restaurant run by an old man who has been in business in Kinshicho for a long time. If there is one. Moving in the opposite direction of the station, from alley to alley. The night time in Kinshicho must be full of fun. I quickly found two sushi restaurants. One of them is here. The name sounds familiar. I checked the menu board at the entrance and saw that they have a lunch set for 1000 yen, but I'm not interested in lunch sushi. Below that was the regular menu, so I moved the menu board aside. Omakase nigiri, 10 pieces plus a roll, for 4500 yen excluding tax, which is a good deal for Kinshicho. I opened the door and entered. Inside, there was a veteran sushi chef behind the counter. It's quite an atmospheric place. "Excuse me, can I have the omakase that's written outside at this time?" They said yes, so I sat at the counter seat. I ordered a beer and tea. I mentioned that the name of the restaurant sounded familiar, and they said it's like a branch of Nihonbashi? Wakana. The nigiri started off decent, but towards the end, it was mostly vegetable-based, more like 8 pieces than 10, and at 4500 yen excluding tax, it was quite disappointing. In my opinion, putting green onions in 10 pieces of sushi is only for sushi in the 2000 yen range. It's unimaginable in the late 4000 yen range for 10 pieces of sushi. If you add shiitake mushrooms after green onions, it should be a set of 14 or 15 pieces, only when it's omakase. I'll stop there, but what do you think is a fair price for 10 pieces of sushi, considering your sushi experience? The cost performance was not good. For sushi that is used for entertaining, it should be more luxurious and expensive, but for ordinary people, I would like to request a fair price. 1. Fatty tuna 2. Fatty tuna 3. Scallop 4. Oyster mix 5. Squid simmered 6. Shrimp 7. Squid with sea urchin on top 8. Conger eel 9. Shiitake mushrooms (to be replaced) 10. Green onions (to be replaced) Roll: Cucumber pickled in one piece Soup: ==========

At the north exit of Kinshicho. It's a sushi restaurant that I visit regularly about once a year, recommended by the owner of my favorite bar in Kinshicho. Even with a course menu of around 6000 yen, I am fully satisfied, but you can also enjoy various dishes a la carte. The head chef, who used to work at a more upscale sushi restaurant, serves authentic Edomae sushi. My personal favorite is the "hiyoko" - a boiled egg sushi. It's hard to find places that serve this dish on the menu nowadays. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I occasionally visit this restaurant, and when you enter, there is a counter on the left and table seating on the right. It's best to leave it to the chef's choice. The prices are reasonable starting from around 4500 yen, and you can enjoy proper sushi. The conger eel, simmered squid, and salmon roe on rice are all delicious. The gizzard shad is on the firmer side. The rice portion is quite generous. Sometimes the rice temperature is a bit high, but on the best days, it's amazing. I don't recommend custom orders. The atmosphere of the chef's artisanal spirit is irresistible, and having sushi made by a professional makes you realize sushi is a treat. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

I visited Wakanasushi, located near Arkakit in Kinshicho, for the first time at night. I made a reservation over the phone before heading to the restaurant. The exterior of the restaurant has a chic feel to it. There are counter seats, table seats, and even seating on the second floor. Unfortunately, smoking is allowed inside the restaurant, and there were people smoking at the counter. We opted for table seats over the counter, and despite a smoker at the table next to ours, the smoke was not too bothersome due to a curtain divider. I ordered the Chef's selection with sashimi (5775 yen), my wife ordered the Chef's selection without sashimi (4725 yen), and my daughter decided to order something later. We were served tuna tartare and simmered silver cod as appetizers. The quality of the tuna tartare was quite good, and the simmered silver cod had a rich flavor. The tuna tartare was seasoned with spicy vinegar miso, so we had to remove the spicy part for my daughter. The sashimi course for me included thinly sliced flounder. My daughter loved it and finished it quickly. The sushi courses for my wife and me were the same. Overall, the quality of the fish was not exceptional. The vinegared rice was too mild for our liking, and the sushi was on the larger side. We also tried various other dishes like grilled mushrooms, rolled gourd strips, and clam miso soup, which were tasty. Although the restaurant was quite busy, the quality of the sushi was not as impressive as places like Sushimasaikai Bekkan or Kanhachi. There are other appealing dishes on the menu like grilled eggplant with miso, steamed egg custard with cod milt, steamed sea bream, and clam with sea urchin, so opting for non-sushi items might be a better choice here.

It's been a while since my last visit. I came back to this restaurant after a few years with friends to celebrate a birthday. Even though it's been a while, I really like the sushi here. It's a bit far from my house, so it's been a few years since I last came. When I visited this time, I saw the son behind the sushi counter instead of the father, who is now upstairs making sushi. The restaurant mainly offers course meals, with options like nigiri-only courses or courses with sashimi. This time, we chose the sashimi course, which was around 6000 yen. We had tuna, tamago (egg omelette), horse mackerel, seared shrimp with its head, and sea urchin served as sashimi, followed by nigiri. The nigiri was served with soy sauce, salt, yuzu, and other seasonings that complemented the ingredients. I like how they serve a variety of small portions of different ingredients, as I can't eat a lot due to my age. I enjoyed the eel with both sauce and salt. After trying the course menu and enjoying seasonal ingredients, along with 3 glasses of sake and 1 beer, the total bill was around 10,000 yen. The taste and price are both clear and reasonable. While there are many delicious sushi restaurants out there, I think this place stands out for offering a variety of seasonal ingredients to enjoy and for its affordable prices. It's a bit sad that they have a limited selection of sake, but if this place were closer to my home, I would definitely visit it frequently.

We went out for sushi at a work closing party. It was our 3rd or 4th visit to this place. We ordered the chef's choice sushi set with sashimi and a side dish of simmered fish. The sushi was delicious as always, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the simmered fish was this time. The only downside of this place is that it's not smoke-free. Also, I saw the chef smoking once before, so I would give this place a 3.5-star rating.

I was surprised to see that the first floor had been converted into a coffee shop. The sushi restaurant was still operating on the second floor, with the chef still skillfully preparing sushi. The atmosphere was as friendly as ever, but you could tell that the chef had aged. The food was consistently good and the prices were reasonable. There are 10 seats at the counter and 6 tables available.

During lunchtime, I found a sign that simply said "Lunch 1,000 yen." It seemed to be a sushi restaurant, but as the restaurant was on the second floor, I couldn't tell what it was like from the outside. I decided to go in. Upon going up to the second floor, I was asked to take off my shoes before entering the restaurant. Inside, there was a counter in the shape of this letter. It had a high-class atmosphere. The chef prepared sushi with unique ingredients like shiitake mushrooms, serving them one by one. It was quite good. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant located about a 3-minute walk from JR Kinshicho Station, serving authentic Edomae sushi. The interior has counter seats and table seats on the first floor, and additional seating on the second floor. I highly recommend the omakase set which includes a variety of nigiri and sashimi. Each piece of sushi is carefully crafted and delicious. The beer is served in bottles, but the thin glassware provides a great mouthfeel. I recommend trying the Yamagata's Ooyama sake at room temperature. From the appetizers to the sushi, everything is top-notch, and the quality for the price is exceptional.

Kanbou's restaurant guide: 5 Exceptional! 4 Highly recommended to everyone 3 Would consider going again 2 Personally wouldn't go again, but everyone has their own preferences 1 Sorry, I have no comment. I wrote this review after visiting the Skytree and enjoying the taste of Toriki (a Michelin-listed yakitori restaurant). I was recommended a sushi restaurant there. Embarrassingly, this was my first time at a high-end sushi restaurant. The quality of the fish is amazing, with the chef's skillful touches. The combination of delicious fish and the chef's craftsmanship equals perfection. I was prepared for high prices in Tokyo, but with two drinks, an omakase set, and a few extra pieces, the total of 8000 yen was reasonable. I'm from Mie Prefecture, but this is definitely a restaurant I would like to visit again. It's like stepping into the world of Sushi of Shota (sorry if you don't know what that means).

At the end of the year, I went to Kinshicho for work and remembered this place, so I visited with my subordinates. The restaurant is located just off the main street, near the station. I used to visit this place several times in the past due to work. Nowadays, when you think of Kinshicho, you think of a lot of yakiniku restaurants, but there are also sushi places! We started with a toast with beer! We always order the chef's choice sushi set with sashimi here. The quality is high even though the price is a bit expensive (laughs). The chef's selection of ingredients is always delicious. He also teaches us some unique ways to enjoy the sushi depending on the season. It was a delicious meal after a long time.

Oh no, this restaurant has lost a few stars. It's actually a pretty good place, but I just can't give it more than three stars. The main reason is that it was really crowded when I went, and the other customers were not my type. There were some snobby people, bragging about how this sushi place is the best in Japan, treating others poorly, and so on. The prices are good, but it's a shame about the atmosphere. Also, the owner seems to be getting a big head because of all the praise from customers. I wish they would study more about sake too, it's kind of embarrassing when they don't know much about it. It feels more like a seafood izakaya than a sushi restaurant.
