There is a bakery inside the Summit store in Saginomiya. The location is more towards Nogata and between Seibu-Kasei and the New Ome Kaido, rather than Saginomiya itself (even though the address is Saginomiya, so it's not wrong, but it's a bit confusing haha). I've been to the Summit store a few times before, but I never noticed the bakery. It was tucked away in the back of the store, so I missed it. I always thought Summit was a bit pricey with their fresh food, but the bread was actually very reasonably priced. They had a section where everything was 108 yen, so I was surprised - like a 100 yen shop?! But it was actually 108 yen before tax, so it's literally all 108 yen. It's quite cheap already, but they had a variety of options available. I chose the "Choco Ring Doughnut (Double Chocolate)" from the 108 yen corner. There were other ring doughnuts available, but I like double chocolate from Mister Donut, so I went with the double chocolate one here. I also got the "Harajuku Dog (Cheese)" for my cheese-loving child. The price card said something like "You won't find this in Harajuku!?" which made me laugh. I thought they were only sold in Harajuku, but I don't go there often now so I thought they might have been selling them here (laughs). The checkout was the same as Summit's, so I paid with PayPay at the Summit register. I had these treats as snacks. The doughnut was light with a chocolate coating and chocolate spray. The doughnut itself was chocolate-colored, so it felt like a triple chocolate treat, but it wasn't too heavy because the doughnut was fluffy. It was summer, so the chocolate melted a bit on the way home, but it was no problem! The Harajuku Dog (it sounds like a human check-up in Harajuku, but it's probably a Harajuku Dog) was my first time trying it. The waffle-like chewy dough had a whole stick of cheese in the middle, which was surprising. My child said it was a sweet and salty taste, and it really was - a sweet waffle dough with the saltiness of the cheese, a sweet and salty combination. Both were worth more than the price. Summit's bread is more cost-effective than their fresh food. They had so many options, so I'd like to look for other hidden gems next time.

Colorful Sandwich 278 yen My wife asked me to do some shopping, so I went to Summit on the Shin-Ōme Kaidō. She also asked for a whipped cream bread from the bakery inside, so I decided to get myself a sandwich as well. It was made with brown bread and filled with plenty of vegetables. The crunchy texture of the vegetables, along with the egg salad and juicy tomato, gave a strong flavor to the sandwich. It felt healthy and satisfying.
