南風直通
After a drinking party that ended past 11 PM, feeling a bit hungry, I decided to have ramen by myself before heading home. As I walked, I came across a bustling restaurant even late at night. The yellow sign of the tonkotsu ramen shop "Shiokarashika" called out to me. I decided to eat here. I purchased a ramen ticket from the vending machine and entered the shop. "Welcome, please sit at the counter over there," the staff guided me to my seat where I handed over my ticket. "How firm would you like the noodles?" Oh right, in Hakata ramen, you can request the firmness of the noodles. I always forget. "Ah, firm please." "Alright, firm it is," order completed. Looking at the wall, there was a notice about the firmness of the noodles. "Please choose the firmness of the noodles from very firm, firm, normal. The firmest we have is very firm." I see, they don't offer options like "extra firm" or "hard." Good thing I didn't try to act cool and ask for "extra firm." 5 minutes later, the ramen was served. Wow, it looks rich. This is perfect for a satisfying end to a night of drinking. Normally, I would avoid rich, fatty ramen for health reasons, but when drunk, my instincts take over and crave it (laughs). First, I took a sip of the soup. Mmm, the rich soup is amazing. Delicious! To fully enjoy this soup, I feel like I need rice. Oops, my instincts are making my rationality struggle again. I managed to resist ordering rice. Slurping the noodles, they are so good! The thin noodles coated in the rich soup are endlessly enjoyable. The thinly sliced pork char siu is tender and melts in the mouth. I like this too. Although I'm not trying to speed-eat, I finished in 6 minutes. And I even finished the soup. But finishing the soup was probably too much. I'll regret it when I sober up tomorrow. Well, if I already knew that, I should have applied the brakes of rationality. Lesson learned. But the satisfaction is beyond words. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!
