Charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant Ikoka's new store! Although it is already a difficult-to-reserve store, I was able to make a reservation for 8:30 pm. Upon entering the shop, you are greeted with a spacious and luxurious space with a round counter, which is very lovely. First, we had chicken breast sashimi with truffle, which was fluffy and delicious. The Yukke had thick and beautiful meat. Then, the grilled skewers started - the chicken breast was moist and tender, the bonjiri melted in the mouth and was delicious. These two skewers showed how different the grilling methods were. The liver paste was also delicious, and I really liked it. The kashiwa had a crispy texture and the dripping fat was irresistible. The deep-fried tofu, cooked with charcoal, had a crunchy surface and a fluffy inside. The grilled chicken thigh was simple and brought out the sweetness. The tsukune was perfectly round and had a pleasant texture. The negima had layers of skin, fat, meat, and green onions, which were all distinct. The asparagus was sandwiched in between. The soft bone had a crispy texture. I mentioned that I didn't like liver and heart, so they changed it for me. The chicken breast with grated daikon and ponzu was refreshing. The large chicken wing was as big as my palm and had amazing elasticity. Even though I was already full, I ordered two types of endings - noodles and grilled rice balls in a small portion. The chicken soup was amazing, and the grilled rice balls were crispy as expected. Lastly, I dived the grilled rice ball into the ramen soup. The omakase course at this place, with its atmosphere, was surprisingly cost-effective at 5500 yen (excluding tax). The drinks were also reasonably priced, with highballs at 600 yen and soft drinks like black sesame juice mixed properly. Even non-drinkers can enjoy it. The head chef, who is only 33 years old, wore shorts, which was quite a contrast in the chic atmosphere. I also watched as they finished grilling and brought out a huge amount of charcoal. When I asked if so much thickness was necessary, they explained that without the thickness, the chicken fat would turn into smoke and quickly stick to the meat. I see. It was the best grilling experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

To the restaurant Torimasa in Fushimi-cho, Chuo-ku, Osaka. The 12-seat counter is fully occupied. The counter is in a unique semi-circular shape, showing the restaurant's sense of style. The walls are decorated with stone tablets, giving a sense of luxury. The friendly head chef welcomes you with a lovely smile. The course menu is only 6000 yen. Is it really possible to be satisfied at this price? Today's dishes include: - Breast meat marinated in kelp with white soy sauce, served with pounded thigh meat and jelly with truffle - Chicken tenderloin with yam and ginkgo nuts, dressed with sauce - Thick fried tofu from Kyoto's Hattori Tofu - Chicken wings with grated ponzu sauce - Chicken cartilage - Whole wheat chicken ramen with a side of grilled rice balls The two and a half hour course is overwhelming with its variety and generous portions. It's unbelievable that all this costs only 6000 yen. The restaurant seems to have a turnover of 1 to 2 times per night. You can feel the warmth and sincerity of the head chef, rather than just a profit-driven mentality. The food was truly delicious. You can experience the top-class course in Osaka. It's relatively easy to make a reservation, so I highly recommend it. The prices may double by the time of my next visit. Thank you for the feast! Mr. Hara is the best!!

When I first went there, even though I was given directions, I passed by it. The place is quite hard to find, but that adds to its hidden gem charm. The yakitori is made with the master's dedication. You can feel the care put into grilling each dish. The prices are also reasonable. It's a bit difficult to get a reservation at this place, but it's definitely worth a visit.

The atmosphere was great, the cost performance was excellent, the prices were reasonable, and the timing of the course dishes coming out was just right. The food was delicious. It was a great place to have a leisurely meal with friends and have a good conversation. The staff were very friendly, always ready to refill our glasses when they were empty, making the dining experience enjoyable. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

No matter how many times I come, it's always the best! The quality of the meat, freshness, doneness, atmosphere, chef, I want to come every week. However, the only slightly tricky part is the yam. When trying to make it soft inside, it feels a bit overcooked and loses moisture, and if it's not cooked enough, it feels like the inside is not fully cooked. How about cooking it at a low temperature and then lightly searing it over charcoal to finish it off!?

There is a yakitori restaurant in Kitahama. Kitahama is full of famous shops. It's been a while since I came here, but it's quite nice. Actually, today I think I found a wonderful yakitori restaurant. I arrived a little early, and there was a bit of a rush in the preparation, so there is room for improvement, but the hospitality is high, so I look forward to that in the future. I tried the Chef's Choice Yakitori Course. In conclusion, this course at this price is cheap. You can really taste the Kishu Binchotan charcoal. The aroma of charcoal spreads in your mouth, and the yakitori served piping hot is all plump and juicy. The grilling is perfect, and each part is impressive. The grilling and seasoning of thick tofu and yam were also amazingly delicious. The finale is a choice between ramen or zosui, or both. Can you believe that? Both are good, which is great. The ramen has a lot of green onions and the broth alone could make the restaurant stand out. Plus, the noodles are incredibly delicious. The zosui has rare chicken breast that is rich in flavor. If they had served a grilled pudding or dessert that would have been a perfect 5.0 rating, I think. But it was already incredibly delicious without it. Anyway, it was a wonderful yakitori restaurant. The owner even saw us off properly. The clientele was calm due to the location. Thank you for the meal♪

A famous restaurant in Kitahama and Temma Bridge area, affiliated with "Ikoka" and "Kakoi". My favorite place, with skilled grilling chefs and a great atmosphere. The yakitori served with perfect timing and grilling is all amazing! The only downside was that the grilled yam was a bit overcooked and overly seasoned this time, but overall it is a wonderful restaurant! A new "Ikoka" branch will be opening in Nishi Temma on July 1st.

If you're new to the Bib Gourmand-winning restaurant, you might feel a little lost at first (it's located across from the popular Chinese restaurant Hinotori). Once you open the door on the first floor of the building, you'll be greeted by a sophisticated, round counter with an adult atmosphere where you can enjoy delicious yakitori courses. The image of having yakitori as part of a course in such an atmosphere might make you think it would cost over 10,000 yen, but it's actually 6,600 yen. The yakitori is carefully grilled to perfection, and each dish is excellent. I definitely want to make a reservation and visit this restaurant again. It's within walking distance from Yodoyabashi Station and Kitahama Station. It's also nice that they let you choose between ramen and ochazuke for the finishing touch.

The restaurant is located about 1-2 minutes southwest from Exit 6 of Kitahama Station on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be guided to a counter seat. Let's start with a highball toast. We opted for the chef's course. Starting with kelp-marinated chicken breast with wasabi and white soy sauce, the meat flavor and gentle kelp taste are delightful. Next is chicken thigh tataki with crispy skin, offering a mix of meat, fat, and saltiness. You can add wasabi to enhance the flavor. Then, we have grilled chicken skewers with tenderloin, offering a charcoal aroma, juicy texture, and a hint of wasabi spiciness. Following that is a rolled chicken meatball in yuba, served in warm broth with shiso flower on top. The yuba's texture combined with the broth and meatball flavor is delightful. The course also includes grilled chicken skewers with various seasonings like salt, teriyaki, and liver. The meal is accompanied by cabbage with miso, providing a crunchy bite. The grilled chicken skewers with various cuts like thigh, tenderloin, and liver offer a mix of flavors and textures. The meal ends with chicken rice tea pickles and ramen. The chicken rice tea pickles consist of rice topped with chicken breast and chopped seaweed in rich chicken broth. The ramen is simple with only green onions as toppings, but the rich chicken broth and black pepper complement the thin noodles well. Overall, the course includes chicken sashimi, grilled chicken, side dishes, vegetables, and a satisfying ending with tea pickles and ramen. It was a great dining experience, and I would love to make a reservation to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

A rising star in the world of yakitori leading the Kitahama area. Everything I ate was delicious. Outstanding. Especially the grilling and cooking temperature. Incredibly delicate. There are plenty of types of alcohol to enjoy. The round tables are theater-style and fun. However, everyone's faces are fully visible, so it can be a bit embarrassing (laughs).

The delicious yakitori and side dishes really satisfied my stomach. The round counter seats allow you to watch the cooking process like a live show, which was a lot of fun. Each skewer of flame-grilled chicken had a generous portion, so even those with a small appetite will leave feeling very full. Personally, the juicy seseri skewer was the standout winner for me. For the finishing touch, we ordered the originally not on the menu grilled rice ball, which was made for us upon request. With options like ramen available as well, we left completely satisfied. I visited the restaurant with my seniors and juniors. The chef recommended a dish with excellent seasoning that day. The restaurant, located in the back of a mixed-use building on the first floor, offers a stylish atmosphere once you pass through the noren curtain. It seemed popular among couples. The portion sizes are modest, so even women can enjoy without worry. We found it a bit lacking in quantity, so we added some chicken neck at the end. Those who have specific favorite parts may find it a bit lacking, but it can be enjoyable as part of the experience. (I personally like bonjiri, but it wasn't available this time. Hopefully next time.) For the finale, you can choose between ramen and ochazuke (tea over rice) (you can also order both it seems). This time, I ordered ramen, which had a really light and gentle flavor.

I sat at a counter seat where I could see the chef cooking. The chef meticulously shaped and grilled the tsukune (meatballs). The grilling was perfect, not too rare or too well-done, just right. Unlike other casual yakitori places that offer salt or sauce, this place only had salt. It felt like they didn't need sauce to cover up anything. The chef and other staff were friendly and approachable, creating a high-end yet cozy atmosphere. It was a comfortable and welcoming restaurant.

As soon as it opened, Torimasa became a popular restaurant and reservations became difficult to get. Finally, I was able to go! It's located just a few minutes walk from Kitahama Station. It's in a building opposite Soba Dozanjin and the popular Chinese restaurant Hinotori, but the sign is not visible from outside, so it's easy to get lost if you don't know. I recommend looking it up before going. Inside the restaurant, it's very chic. Although its sister restaurants Ikoka and Kako are also chic, Torimasa has a more upscale adult atmosphere with a semi-circular counter surrounding the grilling area like a stage – it's really lovely. Recently, most delicious yakitori restaurants have courses that cost over 10,000 yen, but here the course is only 6,000 yen!! The course includes: - Sasami Konbu-zuke (chicken tenderloin marinated in kelp) sashimi, which I'm not usually a fan of, but the marination gives it a nice texture and flavor, especially with ponzu sauce. - Kishu duck with crispy skin and rare meat, which is delicious to chew on. - Yuba (tofu skin) soup with chicken, a warm and elegant dish. - Various grilled items such as chicken tenderloin with wasabi, quail, and tsunagi (chicken meatball). Each item has a different level of doneness and unique flavor. - Yamaimo (mountain yam) with a crunchy texture. - Thick tofu, which is amazing. - Shirako (milt) served on a plate, which is plump and tasty. - Tsukune (chicken meatball), snap peas, chicken breast with ponzu sauce, seseri (chicken neck), and sankaku (chicken breast cartilage). - For the final dish, you can choose between chicken tea rice or ramen. I chose the chicken tea rice, which was flavorful and delicious. The course starts with light dishes and gradually becomes more savory, returning to light flavors towards the end, building up to a fantastic finish. The grilling is done perfectly. They asked if I wanted any additional items, but the course was already filling enough, so I couldn't order more, which was a bit regrettable. All of this for just 6,000 yen...the quality and luxury experience you get at this price point is amazing.

It's a counter-only shop, but it has a stylish and sophisticated atmosphere. The food that comes out matches the atmosphere and is all delicious! The yakitori is thick and delicious with just the right amount of salt! Not only chicken, but also the thick-fried tofu and vegetables are well thought out, so you can enjoy eating without getting tired. It was very delicious!

There is a restaurant located about 5 minutes from Kitahama Station. It is tucked away in a back alley, making it quite difficult to find. The restaurant has a semi-circular counter with around 13 seats. We made a reservation and visited as a party of two. We started with beer, as usual. The meal began with sasami tataki, followed by duck meat which was delicious and fatty. This was followed by various skewered dishes. Halfway through, we were served chicken white liver, which was not particularly special in taste. Among the skewered dishes, the triangle-shaped skewer was the most delicious. The meal ended with ramen, which had a rich and tasty chicken broth. We left feeling full and satisfied.

If you want to eat incredibly delicious yakitori, this is the place to go! The course yakitori is eaten while surrounding the counter. The curved counter allows you to see other customers and gives a feeling of dining together. The omakase course costs 6600 yen per person. This restaurant is affiliated with the famous yakitori restaurant Ikoka, and the grill master is also from Ikoka. I love Ikoka, so I was really looking forward to this reservation! The restaurant opened in June last year. The grilling of all the skewers is excellent, and even the last dish is very delicious. Here is what I ate: Chicken liver sushi - a unique taste you can only enjoy at this restaurant. Chicken thigh tataki with wasabi and salt - very delicious and tender. Tsukune wrapped in yuba - a high-quality dish that feels like a traditional Japanese restaurant. Triangle skewer - incredibly juicy and tasty. Duck breast - a few pieces are not enough, so good! Cabbage with moromi - the moromi is extremely tasty. Grilled nagaimo - perfectly cooked. Chicken thigh - definitely delicious. Chicken white meat - first time trying it, very tasty. Fried tofu - fragrant and delicious. Tsukune - refined and delicious. Sprout cabbage skewer - unexpectedly good. Seseri with ponzu sauce - goes perfectly with grated radish. Hatsu - a great way to end the meal. For dessert, you can choose between ramen and grilled rice balls. The ramen is light and tasty, while the grilled rice balls are a must-try. I really enjoyed my meal and can't wait to go back. Highly recommended, so be sure to visit this place!

My favorite charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant, Ikoka's owner, opened a new shop in Kitahama last year. I knew the previous shop that was in this location, so I visited with nostalgia. The interior has completely changed, with a sophisticated adult atmosphere. The curved counter is a feature, and the grilling area is designed so that you can enjoy it no matter where you sit at the counter. My expectations for the grilled chicken naturally grew. I chose the omakase course, which was 6000 yen plus a seating fee of 500 yen at that time. The course was very fulfilling. First, there was breast meat kizushi, tataki, and reliably delicious dishes. Then, there were various skewers, side dishes, and palate cleansers. The skewer was chicken breast. The perfect grilling was even more evolved than at Ikoka, making me enthralled the moment I tasted it. The composition of the dishes was also very good, and I enjoyed the intervals between skewers. I hadn't been this excited for what would come next in a long time when it came to grilled chicken. I want to bring someone else here. Everyone, please come and visit at least once. I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Located a 5-7 minute walk from Kitahama Station, Torimasa is a popular charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant that opened in June 2022 and is already filling up with reservations. As a sister store of the renowned yakitori restaurant Ikoka from the Yakitori Hyakumeiten, Torimasa offers a variety of skewered dishes that remind one of Ikoka. The 12-seat counter surrounding the grilling area is stylish and has a luxurious atmosphere, yet the pricing is reasonable. We opted for the omakase course, starting with seared thigh meat and chicken breast and liver sashimi, followed by a flavorful tsukune wrapped in yuba with a hint of shiso. The quality and dedication to chicken meat are evident from the start. The tender sasami, the firm and well-grilled hearts, the refreshing seseri with grated ponzu, the juicy tsukune oozing with juices, and the substantial tebasaki that can't be eaten without removing from the skewer were all delicious. The white chicken liver, the crispy thick tofu, and the crunchy grilled rice balls in between the skewers were also exceptional. Overall, the dining experience was satisfying, and I highly recommend visiting Torimasa. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is a sister restaurant of the popular Michelin Bib Gourmand-winning restaurant "Charcoal Grilled Chicken Ikoka," known for its outstanding cost performance right after opening. The restaurant is located just a short walk from Kitahama Station, in a building with easy access, and the interior is a unique space with a high ceiling and an open and calm atmosphere. I visited the restaurant for a private party this time. The food is only available in courses, but additional orders are possible. The course included: - Chicken liver sashimi and breast sushi - Thigh tataki - Chicken breast - Tsukune wrapped in yuba - Quail - Shiitake mushrooms - Shirako - Tsunagi (chicken tail) - Yamaimo (Japanese yam) - Thick fried tofu - Seseri (chicken neck) - Tsukune (chicken meatball) - Duck roast - Chicken cartilage - Chicken wings - Kokoro (additional) - Soriresu (additional) - Sankaku (additional) - Ramen - Grilled rice ball The top 3 dishes of the day were: 3. Grilled rice ball - Crispy on the outside and moist and fluffy on the inside. I have been impressed by this grilled rice ball many times since the Ikoka era. The grilling is divine. 2. Seseri - The juicy and tender seseri is overflowing with meat juices, and each bite is full of deliciousness. 1. Soriresu - The crispy skin followed by the sweetness of the fat and the juiciness of the meat is the ultimate skewer. It was so delicious that I cried. The yakitori portions are generous and satisfying, and the carefully grilled yakitori dishes were enjoyed to the fullest at this delicious and enjoyable private party. Thank you for the meal.
