I went to the Yaesu underground shopping street because I heard there was a Kaldi there. Well, the selection at any store is not that different. The tea I wanted was sold out, but I bought a big bag of walnuts. I will use them for making sweets. Kaldi is fun.

It's nostalgic to visit KALDI after seeing something on TV and buying it. When I entered the store, it felt familiar for some reason. Oh, I remember now - it reminds me of the "Wing Takanawa EAST store" where I used to go during my Shinagawa days. The TV show was recommending the "Authentic Sichuan Hot and Sour Soup" so I bought it, along with some snacks like Galbani Crema BELPAESE cut ham. I love the crunchy end pieces of ham. I also bought some bread to enjoy with the cream cheese. The hot and sour soup with added egg, enoki mushrooms, and thinly sliced pork brought back memories. It's convenient to have these semi-prepared meals, even though our team has a policy of not using the kitchen. It's better to eat healthy and feel good mentally than to eat something cheap and unpleasant. We are always researching and experimenting with food.

I am looking for a taste similar to the shrimp bisque I had at a French restaurant in Malaysia decades ago. I found out that Caldi sells retort and powdered versions online. I tried the retort version... It has a strong shrimp flavor, but the overall taste of the soup is a bit lacking. However, it was quite close to the taste I remember from back then.

Kazuchii costs 224 yen. It's a snack that combines seasoned capelin roe and cheese, similar in texture to G*co's P*kki. The cheese flavor is dominant, with little to no capelin roe taste. It's neither delicious nor unpleasant.

I have been to Kaldi a few times but have never bought anything. I don't really pay attention to it, but I often come across it. This time, I happened to see it on TV and decided to go buy the rumored sliced ham. When I went to the refrigerated section, it was immediately clear where it was displayed. It cost just under 400 yen for one. The amount was quite generous. I hoped it would be delicious, so I bought two. When I got home and opened the pack, it said 120g, but when I pulled it apart, it was quite a lot. I tried it as it is, and the saltiness was quite nice. It was on the lighter side. It was easy to eat. The pork is from the US, Canada, and Mexico, not domestically produced, but at this price, I can't complain. So, my first impression of Kaldi is good.

I forgot that I entered the Nekobak lottery, but suddenly remembered and checked the results - I won! I bought the mentaiko flavor, and when I baked it, it turned into "Yakitara, yakitara?" (laughs).

I bought it this year because Akashiya Sanma introduced it as a big hit.
