I will be leaving Kyushu due to a job change. Before I go, I decided to try some delicious food unique to Kyushu, starting with yakiniku. I saw this place on TV before and it caught my interest. I made a reservation for one person and visited the restaurant. All the rooms were private, so I didn't feel uncomfortable dining alone. The restaurant had a very upscale atmosphere. A trainee waiter came out, but their speech was a bit awkward. I ordered Chateaubriand, thinly sliced tongue, harami, and a draft beer. The Chateaubriand was priced at 6300 yen, which seemed expensive, but considering in Osaka you would pay the same price for half the size of fillet, it might be reasonable. Even on a weekday, some items like harami and thick-cut tongue were sold out. I started with the beer, which was cold but slightly warm. Then, the meat kept coming one after another. The Chateaubriand was larger than I expected, which was lucky. I was full after trying three items. The meat was delicious, but for the price, it felt just average. The Chateaubriand was so tender that you could cut it with chopsticks. It was sliced vertically, so it tore at the fatty parts. However, the meat lacked a bit of flavor and left some tendons after eating, which was disappointing. The manager asked me three times, "How was the Chateaubriand?" and I kept answering, "It was delicious," feeling a bit tired. I was in the middle of moving, so I wore casual clothes, which may not have been the best choice for such a high-end restaurant. I also parked my bike in front of the fancy restaurant, which might not have been appropriate.
