I was in Nihonbashi Kakigaracho around 10 a.m. on Sunday to see the Fukagawa Hachiman Festival. Around 10:30 a.m., I was thinking about what to eat, and when I arrived at the main street in Ningyocho, I saw Yoshinoya but I had just eaten there recently. I hesitated for a moment and then noticed that Tenya was open! I went in without hesitation and ordered a tempura bowl for 560 yen, a small soba for 280 yen, and added a topping of conger eel tempura for 200 yen, making a total of 1,040 yen. I was surprised to see that they had switched to a touch panel for ordering. I ate until I was full. I really love Yoshinoya and Tenya! Especially in the summer, tempura bowls taste delicious! Thank you for the meal. It was my first time at this restaurant, but I will definitely be coming back to Tenya!

This is a regular lunch spot. Specializing in tempura rice bowls, but their soba noodles are also high quality. The soba broth is delicious, but unfortunately, the amount of broth is too little. It feels awkward to ask for extra broth, so it would be appreciated if they could serve a bit more from the start. That's all.

Tenya's tempura bowl used to be just a chain restaurant level, but now it has grown to the level of a specialty store. The tempura is freshly fried and piping hot, and the sauce is also delicious. In addition, the soba noodles are also good. The small soba set is just right. It's great to get a coupon that you can use anytime to get a tempura bowl. It's also very exciting.

Tempura rice bowl. A late lunch in Ningyocho area. I had been avoiding Ningyocho recently due to a bad experience at a restaurant, but on this day, I ended up in Ningyocho all day. I stumbled upon Tenya near the Ningyocho intersection. In these times when prices are going up, I have the impression that Tenya offers relatively good value for money. Not only that, but the taste at Tenya is always consistent. I usually go for a set meal, but this time I opted for a tempura rice bowl due to time constraints. I noticed a few foreign customers in the restaurant as well. Trying the popular tempura at Tenya could also be a good experience.

Tempura had a variety of options such as white fish, squid, shrimp, green beans, and pumpkin, which was nice, but each piece was small and thin, so you don't really get the satisfaction of eating them one by one. The broth at the soba shop in town was quite different, and even though there was no soba water, I enjoyed it fully without waiting for it to cool down.

It's been cold and then hot again, with unpredictable weather continuing this autumn. Where should I go for lunch today? It's hot again, so maybe some soba noodles? Oh, I remember there was a coupon for Tenya! I'll order the tempura set with a side of soba noodles using the coupon. I'll add some crispy tempura on top of the tempura bowl. The combination of freshly fried tempura bowl and cold soba noodles is excellent. It's irresistible for a true Tokyoite!

Today's lunch was tendon and soba noodles. I ordered the All-Star small soba set with tendon for ¥920. While waiting, I discovered the Tenya app which offers coupons when installed. I confirmed with the staff that the coupon was valid, so I added an extra tempura. The coupon can be used two more times. I will definitely visit again.

I came to eat tendon for lunch✴️ Lunch set✔️ It feels like a good deal with a tendon and a small seiro of soba on the side. Oh! Delicious‼️ It's really tasty❗️ Is it good or bad to come to eat tendon and praise the soba in one bite? Either way, delicious things are good~♪ Oh wait? Wait a minute, that's not right! Actually, big things are good~♪ Do you know this? Those who know are wise~♪

The employee seemed not very proficient in Japanese, but I ordered soba and got udon instead. However, it looked delicious so I just ate it. The tempura bowl was consistently delicious. Maintaining this quality in a chain restaurant is impressive.

I used the 30-minute transfer time to have lunch. I couldn't go too far, so I randomly chose a place along the way. I thought it would only cost ¥500 today, but then I saw the menu and couldn't resist ordering the shrimp and conger eel tempura bowl for ¥980. I don't usually eat shrimp tempura, and conger eel will be helpful for future fishing reference. I feel like there must be some secret to frying shrimp to make it crispy besides just knowing when it's done. And there might be a trick or tool to fry it straight like this. The rich flavor of the conger eel is amazing. I prefer grilling it lightly, but for smaller fish, tempura is the way to go. I wonder if my tempura at home is as good as this. This fish is meant to be fried a bit deeper, so that might be why it tastes similar. I enjoyed my leisurely transfer at this restaurant (Mizuten-gu). Yeah, this menu is pretty good after all. I used to think that "the cheapest is the best" at this place, but haha.

I had never been to Tempura restaurant Tenya, thinking I could go anytime. I felt like having a crispy Tempura bowl, so I decided to give it a try. As I was alone, I tried to sit at the counter but was guided to a table instead. Maybe they were considerate because I was a woman dining alone? I usually don't mind, but I appreciate the thoughtfulness. I ordered the revived Tempura bowl for 500 yen. While waiting, I looked around the restaurant. I had the impression that it was mostly frequented by salarymen, but I noticed a few solo women diners as well. The interior was bright and clean, making it easy to dine in. As for the Tempura bowl, it may not compare to the famous Tempura restaurant in Ningyocho, but the Tempura was crispy and the shrimp was plump. For 500 yen, the quality was impressive! I heard they also offer Tempura-only takeout, so I plan to buy some to take home next time.

"Tenya" near Ningyocho Station. Tonight, I had the seasonal limited edition "Crab and Scallop Tempura Bowl". The lineup includes crab, shrimp, scallop, lotus root, octopus, and tempura of chrysanthemum greens. It looks delicious, but the crab has only a small amount of meat in tiny claws. The scallop, although advertised as thick, was just the usual kind. I couldn't eat the chrysanthemum greens tempura, as it was undercooked and soggy. It was definitely not up to the level of tempura. The cost performance is a problem, not to mention the quality. This Ningyocho branch tends to be inconsistent, with past experiences including tempura that was overly fried and too hard. The staff, except for the manager, are foreigners and seem expressionless and unfriendly. I probably won't visit again.

I worked late again this day, so I decided to go to Tenya for dinner. I had been wanting to try this place ever since I read about it in a magazine that featured a rich life on a salary of 200-300 million yen. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with a counter, making it easy for solo diners to come in. I ordered the regular tempura set meal, which came with tempura, rice, and miso soup, all for just over 1,000 yen. The tempura was crispy and delicious since it was fried after I ordered. The staff, who appeared to be of Asian descent, were polite and I liked their service.

Tendon Tenya. I had the All-Star Tendon for the first time in a while. It said "comeback?" on the menu, so maybe it had disappeared from the menu before? It's been many years since I last visited Tenya. I'm not a fan of having a lot of sauce on my rice, so I asked for less sauce. The tempura was crispy and delicious. I would like to try it again! It's been a while since I felt that way at this restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

On April 24, 2023, I had lunch during a business trip in the historic neighborhood of Ningyocho. Despite my initial hesitation about trying a chain restaurant's tempura bowl, I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious meal. I ordered the Early Summer Tempura Bowl, priced at 920 yen including tax, which I found to be of high quality for a chain restaurant. Although I had to wait a bit, I learned that the tempura is fried after the order is placed, resulting in a crispy and tasty tempura. The addition of seasonal ingredients like kakiage and firefly squid made the dish even more enjoyable. I realized why this place was always busy even after 2 pm. While there are authentic tempura restaurants nearby, this one is definitely worth a try. Conveniently located near Ningyocho Station.

I used a coupon from a phone company's service and ordered the Tokachi-style pork tempura rice bowl for 680 yen. I received a 100 yen discount. The meat was thin but tender, with 6 slices in the bowl. The sauce was on the richer side, but it was delicious!
