When I feel like eating something sweet, I can easily visit this great shop. It's a chain store, but they are able to accommodate my preference for softer treats by making them fresh instead of using pre-made ones. Their red bean and sweet potato, as well as cream pastries, are always delicious.

During a regular lunchtime around 1pm, I visited a new restaurant with three customers already inside. Located near the Yoyogi station, it is easy to spot with a large sign. I ordered a Taiyaki made with azuki beans from Tokachi and waited 2-3 minutes for it to be ready. The Taiyaki was smaller than I expected and had a crispy skin, but it was thin so the texture wasn't as enjoyable. The filling was sweet red bean paste, not too sweet, and there wasn't much filling inside, just a little bit. Considering the price, which could buy two Taiyaki in the countryside, it didn't meet my expectations. I won't be visiting this restaurant again.

¥230 Tokachi red bean taiyaki at the west exit of Yoyogi Station, facing the intersection. I was drawn in by the aroma. Since it's a street shop, there are no seats. They offer three types of taiyaki: red bean, Naruto sweet potato, and premium custard. They also have four types of ice cream: vanilla, matcha, red bean on, and red bean off. I usually prefer cream-filled taiyaki, but this time I decided to go with the red bean. They quickly handed me a warm, small taiyaki made with Tokachi red beans. The texture was chewy, slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The red bean filling was not too sweet and had a moist, smooth texture. I realized after paying that they also offer freshly made taiyaki upon request. Thank you for the meal.

In the world of taiyaki, there are natural and farmed ingredients. Natural taiyaki are individually hand-made, while farmed taiyaki are cooked in rows. Personally, I think the cooking method doesn't matter as long as it tastes good. The taiyaki from Naruto is from a chain store, but the taste is top-notch. It has a balanced sweetness that isn't too overwhelming. Maybe it's the sugar they use. I highly recommend it. I would give it a rating of 75 out of 100.

After lunch, I felt like having something sweet, so I visited this shop in front of the station that I had been curious about. I tried the cream flavor. The crust was thin and had a crispy texture, which was delicious. The cream inside was also plentiful and tasted great. I want to try the red bean paste flavor next time. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal!

I always enjoy freshly baked taiyaki here, and I often purchase them for small celebrations or special occasions. The prices have been increasing steadily, but since there are no other taiyaki shops nearby, I still visit frequently. The red bean taiyaki costs 220 yen, the sweet potato taiyaki costs 240 yen, and the premium custard taiyaki costs 260 yen. It would be even more enjoyable if they offered a greater variety of flavors.

This is a taiyaki shop in front of Yoyogi Station. I had a taiyaki for 220 yen. The red bean paste was smooth and had a light texture, which was quite good. It feels like you could eat as many as you want. I think I will come back again.

There is a familiar shop in front of Yoyogi Station. I usually go for taiyaki, but for some reason, on a very cold day, I craved ice cream monaka! It's like having ramen in the summer and ice cream monaka in the winter. The monaka has a penguin drawn on it, which I didn't notice at first and accidentally took a sideways photo! A good reminder for winter ice cream monaka. Check out my blog for more details: https://zan3tho.com

After a health check, I was starving but had to quickly return to work. I saw a taiyaki shop and decided to get one. It turned out to be a chain store, not a traditional shop in the Yoyogi area. I didn't know that the most popular flavor was red bean paste, so I tried the sweet potato filling instead. The combination of sweet potato and white bean paste was a bit strange and didn't really work well together. I should have just stuck with red bean paste or custard. The crispy shell was good though. If I have the chance to go back, I'll go for red bean paste or custard next time.

At Yoyogi Station, there is a place called "Naruto Taiyaki Honpo." This is my second time here. Last time, I tried their new product, the chestnut-flavored taiyaki, but this time I went for the classic red bean filling. And it was the right choice! The taiyaki was filled from head to tail with red bean paste, and it was sweeter than the chestnut flavor! It tasted even better when eaten with milk!

This is a shop located right in front of the intersection just outside JR Yoyogi Station. I stopped by when I felt a little hungry. They bake each taiyaki individually, using natural ingredients. I was drawn to the seasonal limited edition white peach filling, which cost 230 yen. The taiyaki here has thin crispy skin and the white peach filling is soft and delicious, perfect for summer. The sweetness is mild, so it doesn't get overwhelming. It's light, making it just the right size to satisfy a small hunger.

Two years ago, on the way back from Hatsumode at Meiji Shrine, I visited a place called "Natural Taiyaki" where they make taiyaki individually instead of in a set. It was getting chilly as the sun went down, so I couldn't resist buying some. I tried both the "Naruto Kintoki sweet potato" and the "Azuki bean from Tokachi" flavors, getting one of each. My wife preferred the sweet potato, but I personally liked the azuki bean more. It felt like a nice substitute for mochi during the New Year period. The crispy skin was delicious, and because it was thin, there was a generous amount of filling. It really warmed my stomach up. Thank you for the meal~

The taiyaki specialty shop in front of Yoyogi Station had a taiyaki with thin crispy skin and a not too overpowering filling, making it delicious until the last bite. I happened to try the taiyaki from Naruto Taiyaki Honpo. I ordered the "Naruto Kintoki-imo" taiyaki for 180 yen. The taiyaki is made using a special method called "icchou-yaki" which results in a thin crispy outer layer and a fluffy filling. The filling is not too sweet, allowing the sweet potato flavor to shine through, creating a unique and delicious taste. Although there may be a line at times due to the special cooking method, the convenience, taste, and cost performance make it a well-balanced choice.

I have been seeing this store popping up here and there for a while now. My impression is that it is located near a large intersection, like a scramble crossing. Today, since I had a light lunch, I decided to try it out. There was no seating area, but there were 4 or 5 people eating near the intersection. The menu had about 4 items. It seems like they always have red bean and sweet potato flavors. I chose the limited-time sweet potato cream filling. There were two staff members, one at the register and one handling the baking. I was given a freshly baked item. Ouch, it's hot! I wasn't expecting it to be this hot if it wasn't freshly baked. The taiyaki is smaller than I thought. The outside is crispy. Inside, there is a thick cream filling with a rich sweet potato and cream flavor. It felt a bit pricey due to its size, but it seems like a good impulse buy for the cold season. (2018.11.17)

When you're feeling a little hungry, these snacks are just right. They are delicious, with a crispy outside and a hot and melty inside when freshly baked. My favorite is custard.

When I was in line, the person in front of me finished the batch they were cooking, so they made a new one right in front of me. It was freshly made and absolutely delicious with plenty of red bean paste all the way to the tip of the tail, hot and crispy on the outside while fluffy on the inside.

Seasonal custard has arrived! This item reminds me of the traditional large dorayaki. The cream inside is cooked to be firm to match the skin, and it melts in your mouth. Delicious!

The first thing I bought was a limited edition chestnut taiyaki. The subtle sweetness of the filling combined with the crispy chestnut skin helped me relax after work. It cost 248 yen.
