It seemed like the store was celebrating its first anniversary, so our family decided to visit after a long time. My wife and I ordered cold brew coffee, our older daughter got the seasonal blueberry yogurt, and our younger child got lemonade. As a snack, we tried the lemon pound cake and caramel pound cake, which were both delicious. They were packed with flavor, had just the right amount of sweetness, and were surprisingly satisfying. We hope this neighborhood shop continues to thrive. Thank you for the meal!

After the typhoon passed and the rain stopped before noon, I took my dog for a walk in the neighborhood and ended up visiting this shop on a different route. I confirmed with the store manager that dogs were allowed inside and we entered. The shop had a stylish atmosphere that looked like it could be featured on Instagram. Since it was just before lunch, I only ordered the daily coffee (hot) and paid with PayPay. The coffee arrived in a colorful mug, made with beans from Ethiopia. It had a distinctive acidity and fruity flavor, which was delicious. More customers with dogs started coming in one after another. The shop was run by a single person, so there might be a bit of a wait if orders pile up, but it seemed like a relaxing place to hang out and chill. In addition to hot dogs, there were various snacks displayed on the counter. The selection changes depending on the weekly inventory. I heard that cheesecake will be available next weekend. According to a conversation between a regular customer and the store manager, the shop will soon celebrate its first anniversary. I'm planning to visit again with my dog.

Located in a residential area between Zoshigaya and Waseda, this pale-colored, minimalist cafe is perfect for a relaxing time on a rainy day. The interior has seats that are ideal for 1 or 2 people. The friendly staff made small talk with me. I tried the hot dog that I was curious about, and even though it was quite filling, I couldn't resist the spiciness. Although it's a bit far from the station, it is accessible from Waseda, Edogawabashi, and Zoshigaya, and with some effort, you can also reach it from Takadanobaba. It's a great place to stop by for a walk.

I just happened to visit here after going to Kanda Bakery. I ordered a pretzel with chocolate and jam, and a pepper sandwich. The menu was a bit too sophisticated for me, haha. The cafe is delicious though. In this area, cafes are rare, but this one has a stylish atmosphere and good food, making it popular among middle-aged women in the neighborhood. However, there isn't much reason for the average person to come all the way here.

The restaurant is about a 15-minute walk from both Waseda Station and Gokokuji Station. I got a bit lost in the residential area because the location on Google Maps from Tabelog was a bit off. It's better to go from the official Instagram account's Google Maps! Around 12:30 on the weekend, there was only one other customer. The large windows let in a nice sunlight, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The place opened just last year, so it still feels like a hidden gem, and I was able to relax even on the weekend. The staff were friendly and talkative. It seems like there are many regular customers, so it must be because of their friendly personalities and the nice atmosphere. In the back of the store, there are many records lined up, but it seems like they don't actually play them. The background music was lively rap or soothing orchestral music. I ordered the Hot Dog (¥900) and Drip Coffee (¥500). The fluffy and chewy bread is sourced from a bakery in Nezu and is really delicious! The thick sausage is tender and would be liked by children. The sauerkraut has a refreshing acidity. The bread is thick, so it's a bit difficult to eat because you have to take a big bite, making it not ideal for a first date (lol). But it's delicious! I like dark roast coffee, so I went with the recommended Brazilian drip. The colorful mug cup has a unique design.

I went to stroll, a cafe that my friend found nearby. It is located in a quiet residential area. The cafe is small with a limited number of seats, perfect for one or two people. I heard that their cardamom rolls are delicious, but unfortunately they were not available when I visited. However, I tried their delicious-looking hot dog instead. [Items Ordered] Hot Dog ¥900 Coffee Milk (Hot) ¥600 Homemade Lemonade (Iced) ¥600 I quickly decided on the hot dog, but I had a hard time choosing a drink. The friendly staff recommended their coffee milk, which is made by mixing their homemade syrup with milk. The coffee milk was sweet and I thought it would go well with baked goods, which they also had on display. The hot dog was so delicious! It was filling with crunchy cabbage and juicy sausage. You can add ketchup and mustard according to your preference, which is great. However, it was a bit difficult to eat due to its generous size and fillings. I personally enjoyed the challenge, but it may not be suitable for those who find it hard to eat in front of their significant other. Overall, it was a perfect cafe with a relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food, and attention to detail in their tableware. I highly recommend visiting this amazing cafe.

A friend recommended this place to me and it was my first time visiting. The staff were friendly and welcoming. If this cafe was near my house, I would come here every day. The coffee was delicious and the cookies paired perfectly with it. The breakfast menu also looked very appetizing, so I would like to try it someday. Thank you for the great experience!

Waseda "stroll" ~¥1000 ☑️ Cardamom roll ¥400 ☑️ Hot coffee ¥450 During that time, you could eat VANER's bread, but since VANER closed, this cardamom roll may not be available now. Please be aware. There are also hot dogs, baked goods, and many other delicious items, so I still recommend it ❤️ A stylish café that appears in a residential area a short walk from Waseda Station! The open and relaxing interior is very calming. The owner was also very kind. The coffee was incredibly delicious! There were many people dining alone. It seems like a new cafe that opened around June ♡ It's a cafe with a light-colored, inorganic space ♡ I found it on Instagram and was curious, so I went to check it out ^^ It's about a 20-minute walk from Waseda Station, but it's only 5 minutes from Toden Waseda Station! (I didn't know there was a Toden Waseda Station, so I went to Waseda Station and took a taxi on the way there haha) The cafe opens at 8 am, making it perfect for morning activities ◎ ◯ Fig scone ◯ Iced cafe latte The scone had a rare fig flavor in it. It was tangy and delicious ♡ They also warmed up the scone for me (>_<) ♡ And the cafe latte was really delicious, I think the coffee (espresso part) must be very easy to drink, as I could feel a bit of bitterness from the part that wasn't mixed with milk, but it had little acidity and was refreshing. Apart from baked goods, the hot dogs seem to be popular and looked delicious, so I would like to try them! The staff was also very friendly, a nice male who chatted with me about various things ^_^

There is a trendy cafe in the neighborhood. I was worried at first because it's located in a residential area where there aren't many shops, but it's quite busy every day. Especially on weekends, there are constantly customers coming in. You can bring your dog inside and enjoy a cup of tea, and the simple atmosphere of the shop seems to be a popular reason. The coffee is indeed delicious. I bought coffee beans a few times and enjoyed them at home, even when just made with a regular coffee maker, it had a rich flavor. The kids' favorite is the lemonade. Whenever there's a chance, they ask for the lemonade from this place. Since it's a shop near our home, I hope it continues to thrive. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

- Cafe Latte ¥550 - Fig and Pecan Nut Scone ¥495 A scone with a unique texture that falls between firm and moist. It's addictive! The chewy texture of dried figs and the crunchy texture of pecan nuts are irresistible. The spices are well-balanced, giving it a spicy sweetness that is easy to enjoy. The scone is dense and satisfying, making it a perfect accompaniment to coffee. There was a generous portion, so I couldn't finish it all and ended up taking some home! (They said it was okay to take it home♡) The coffee was delicious! It's a hidden gem, perhaps because it's in the Waseda area and not well-known yet, allowing for a relaxing time. The staff were friendly and I would love to come back again.

◆Turning a hot dog into an excellent dish, this hot dog features a combination of Negoya's bread and Kuwabara Ham's frankfurter. Despite its tough appearance, the surprisingly soft and fluffy bread pairs perfectly with the plain and generously sweet frankfurter. The crunchy and moist texture of the sauerkraut adds a gentle acidity, while the additional ketchup and mustard provide a simple yet delicious touch. Today's menu includes a hot dog and coffee for 1350 yen per person.◆How to enjoy this restaurant: They offer coffee, homemade lemonade, bread, and baked goods. The bread is from VANER, hot dogs from Negoya's bread, and baked goods from O-kitchen. The restaurant opened in June 2022.◆Order details: The hot dog ordered this time was 900 yen, and today's coffee was 450 yen.◆Source of information: Review by wagyu justin on Tabelog. Thank you for the meal~

In Zoshigaya, between Zoshigaya Cemetery and Waseda Station on the Toden Arakawa Line, there is a café where only one person works. It can accommodate about four groups, but the capacity is not large, so you may have to wait depending on the timing. The hot dog costs 900 yen, the iced latte costs 550 yen, and the cardamom roll costs 400 yen. The hot dog is delicious! The bread is so tasty. When I asked, I found out it's from Nezu, which explains why it's so good. The homemade ketchup has spicy bits in it, so be careful when pouring it as it might splash out (laughs). The cardamom roll is from Vanel, and it was so good that I couldn't finish it, so I took it home.

#stroll #Waseda Cafe - New open on 6/10 - A shop that specializes in baked goods and coffee! Located between Waseda and Zoshigaya, this shop opened on 6/10 and there's a nice public bath nearby. It's a stylish cafe with light colors! I fell in love with the cafe latte and decided to visit. There were delicious looking baked goods displayed at the counter, and even though I was planning on just getting a hot dog, I couldn't resist and ended up buying some. Both the hot dog and scone were delicious. The goods sold in the store were also cute! I'm happy that they open early in the morning! I'll definitely go again. ✔️Stroll's Recommended Points: - Opens early in the morning - Can choose from different types of drip coffee - The owner is kind ℹ️Shop Information: - Name: Stroll - IG: @stroll_in - Address: 1-9-13 Mejirodai, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo - Hours: 8:00-17:00 - Closed: Irregular holidays - Notes: Cards, electronic money, PayPay accepted. The coffee industry has different waves. The first wave started from the late 19th century to the 1960s, when coffee became more affordable and mass-produced, becoming a popular drink among the general public. In Japan, Dr. Sartori Kato invented instant coffee, and the founder of UCC Ueshima Coffee, Mr. Tadao Ueshima, developed canned coffee. After this, coffee shops continued to increase until the bubble period. The second wave began in 1971 when Starbucks was born in Seattle. In contrast to the first wave, which focused on cheap consumption, the second wave used high-quality beans and advanced roasting techniques. Starbucks landed in Ginza in 1996. I started enjoying Starbucks in Seattle two years before it arrived in Japan. At that time, Starbucks was everywhere in Seattle, becoming a "common presence." The third wave emerged around 2000. Its characteristics include using coffee beans harvested from single species of plants, single-origin, hand-drip brewing, and light roasting. Blue Bottle Coffee landed in Japan in 2015. From 2020 onwards, coffee shops have been opening one after another in the Waseda area. Starting with Ammonite Coffee in July 2020, followed by Aun Coffee in September 2020, Coffee Ya in November 2020, Kohaze Coffee in March 2021, and Natsumezaka Coffee in September 2021. On June 10, 2022, our shop opened. Our shop is located in Bunkyo-ku, Mejirodai 1-chome, but Tabelog classified it as "Waseda Cafe," so I will review it as part of Waseda. The owner of our shop gained experience at BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR in Sendagaya before becoming independent. I received information from a dog friend in the neighborhood that "pets are allowed in the store," so I went with my two beloved dogs. Since I cannot drink coffee during the day, I ordered an iced lemonade. There are seats along the walls in the store, and you will be served while sitting down. The seats felt a bit cramped when bringing two medium-sized dogs like ours, although it should be fine for small dogs. The homemade lemonade had a good balance of lemon acidity and sweetness, making it an easy-to-drink lemonade. I thought it would be a perfect drink for hot summers. PayPay was not available as they had just opened, but I would appreciate it if they introduced it in the future. Mejirodai 1-chome was not a particularly exciting area, but with yuloom zymology opening and our shop opening, slowly but surely, trendy shops are emerging, which makes me happy. Good luck in the future. Thank you for the meal.

Hogokoji is a cafe that offers exceptional coffee and pastries like no other. The interior is very simple, but it makes the deliciousness of the coffee and pastries stand out even more. I think this cafe is truly talented. I am a big fan of their coffee and matcha scones! ✨

It's hard to notice this cafe without a signboard, but I had seen it a lot on Instagram so I was curious to visit. The interior is quite cozy and small, making it easy for solo customers to enter. The hot dogs are popular here, but I was in the mood for something sweet so I ordered the pound cake. What I ordered: Cocoa and coffee square cake 550 yen, Espresso 280 yen. The staff seemed quiet at first, but turned out to be very friendly and easy to talk to. I ended up staying longer than planned, but the relaxed atmosphere made me want to come back again. Recommended points: Easy for solo customers, delicious food options (highly recommend the pound cake), hidden gem, outdoor terrace seating available. I also posted more details on Instagram, so check it out.
