I mainly want to land with my family on the ramen runway ★彡
I used to not like mentaiko, but now it has become one of my favorite foods (о´∀`о). So, this time, I visited "Ramen Kainaru Fukuoka Airport Store" for the first time!! I had already decided on ordering the airport exclusive "Spicy Mentaiko Ramen" from the moment of takeoff towards the ramen runway! The presentation is cute with a bowl that looks like it was lit up with a flashlight on hot coffee. Unfortunately, I couldn't drink the soup because the children spilled water and I was tempted to do the same, so I gave up. The dish says "NAKUKO MO UNARU IPPAI," and the side plate has a strong and sturdy feel to it.
Now, let's get to the main point. The soup is more like a reddish miso flavor rather than tonkotsu. The noodles are not visible. I can't see the chashu either! There are white leeks in the center, with mentaiko on the side. The mentaiko seems to be shredded. The amount is not that much, but the aroma of the soup, especially the spiciness, really makes my mouth water!!
Now, let's dig in!!! The soup is quite strong! I didn't expect the spiciness to be this intense, so my body couldn't handle it (⌒-⌒; ) It feels more like chili oil than shichimi. Maybe due to the tonkotsu soup, the spiciness becomes mellow, and I thought it might be because of the chili oil. The noodles are thin. My impression is that mentaiko ramen has noodles that are more like Chinese noodles than wheat flour noodles. The noodles have a good chew and the spiciness makes me chew more, savoring the heat... I'm sure even the "Bura○ Mayo○" guy would shout "Hiyahhh!" The chashu was hot because it had sunk into the soup. It was tender and very easy to eat! There was also some fatty part, which was firm and delicious! The white leeks are thinly sliced and have a crunchy texture, which is tasty. Since everything is nicely arranged in the bowl, it might be a good idea to take a little at a time and eat it while mixing with the noodles.
I was a bit "Moyatto" about whether it was really tonkotsu, but upon closer inspection of the soup, I could see the grains of mentaiko. Maybe they crumbled a whole piece of mentaiko into the ramen and neatly arranged the remaining skin. So, in a sense, it's a luxury ramen with a whole piece of mentaiko in it!!(*´꒳`*) Also, the lack of tonkotsu flavor might be due to the strong mentaiko dashi in the soup. In my opinion, it felt more like a miso or soy sauce chicken broth with a strong tonkotsu soy sauce flavor. Oh my, where does this mentaiko come from?! Truly, comparing it with the tonkotsu ramen soup that the children spilled, it became clear to me.
Everyone, do you think there are only two airports, international and domestic terminals, at Fukuoka Airport? No!! There is one more, called "Ramen Runway" airport!!! There are various flights (ramen) available there, so enjoy until the very end of your trip! (^^)
