Located just a 2-minute walk from Toei Mita Line Uchisaiwaicho Station and about 5 minutes from JR/Subway Shinbashi Station, "Takamaru Sengyo-ten Shinbashi Store" is a seafood shop that is easy to find as it faces Hibiya Street. As part of their innovative approach to a new type of fish market = the three elements of ingredients, processing, and dining, they currently operate five restaurants under the "Takamaru Sengyo-ten" brand in Nishi-Shinjuku and other locations. The Shinbashi store, with its wide frontage, is a lively corner of a fish market where anyone can feel comfortable walking in. The staff, wearing rubber boots, create a vibrant atmosphere in the fish market. On weekdays, the 60-seat restaurant was full after 8 p.m. Reservations seem to be essential. Primarily a fish market, they take advantage of their purchasing rights at Toyosu to offer fresh fish for sale. You can even buy a whole fish. In addition to sashimi and grilled fish, they also have a variety of appetizer menu items. It's fun to choose while looking at the many posters inside the store. The recommended dish is the "Sashimi Platter" (3,980 yen for 2-4 people) with an overwhelming volume! The platter includes over 12 types of fresh fish! The sashimi arranged in a bucket is a sight to behold, with a noticeable presence of crab. The thick slices of tuna, amberjack, scallops, salmon roe, sea urchin, all fresh and delicious. Enjoying them with sake such as "Yoru no Teio," "Tsukiyama," and "Senkin" (unfortunately, the usually available "Mitsui no Kotobuki" was out of stock due to the Slam Dunk boom) was amazing. There is also a wide variety of other drinks available. The dishes like "Kamaage Shirasu and Tofu Salad," "Octopus and Shrimp Tomato Salad," and "Seafood Yakisoba" all feature seafood as the main ingredient, providing a satisfying dining experience. Grateful for the delicious food, I will definitely return to try the Sashimi Platter again.
