On a weekend night after enjoying Genghis Khan barbecue, we visited "Sumi-ya Nakajima Koen" around 7:30 pm. The restaurant, located in Nakajima Park, had a variety of seating options including counter, table, and tatami rooms, and was about 70% full. We were seated in a cozy tatami room with a sunken hearth, which was a nice touch. I really like this place, as I used to frequent their previous location in Tanuki 7-chome. The menu offers pork, lamb, beef, chicken, seafood, vegetables, rice, soup, and more, but I have only tried the pork hormone here. We started with bottled beer and ordered salted hormone and sagari. The default onions were placed on the edge of the charcoal grill, where we grilled the hormone. The salted hormone had a nice chewy texture with no unpleasant odor, and the saltiness paired well with the beer. The sagari was juicy and bursting with flavor when bitten into. It was delicious and reasonably priced. We also ordered a lemon sour, and the total bill came to around 2000 yen. It was a fantastic dining experience, and I'm glad we came. Thank you for the meal!

On the last night in Sapporo, I had planned to have Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue), but since I had eaten too much since morning and my companion had never tried lamb before, we decided to play it safe and go for yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) instead. I found a famous restaurant known for its salted hormone dishes and made a reservation over the phone. We ordered a mix of hormone meats, sagari (skirt steak), raw lamb, squid kimchi, and beer. The hormone meats were incredibly delicious with just salt and pepper seasoning. The sagari was meaty and tasty, and the raw lamb was surprisingly easy to eat without a strong flavor. Here's where I miscalculated - the squid was so big that we couldn't finish it. I didn't expect such a huge squid to be served. I'm sorry for leaving it unfinished. I thoroughly enjoyed the night in Sapporo. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal♪

The restaurant doesn't allow online reservations, but it's okay to show up at 5 o'clock. The salted hormone is so delicious, grilled on charcoal until crispy. The oxtail soup is a bit salty, wish they had a half portion. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Alone at Yakiniku for the 4th time (lol) for some reason? I end up wanting to go back again. It's still crowded as usual... You have to wait for a seat to open up. After about 10 minutes, I got a seat at the counter. This time, I decided not to overeat and ordered just 3 plates: Mix Hormone, Tan Miso, and Pork Belly. I couldn't resist adding Kimchi and onions. Well, I guess I'll be coming back again (lol) ⭐⭐

Today I had a casual drinking party! I visited a restaurant in Nakajima Park area called "Sumi-ya". This was my first time visiting since they moved from Tanuki Koji. I ordered a lot of dishes such as salted hormone, raw lamb, and frankfurters. They were cooked slowly over charcoal fire. The salt flavor was so good! I enjoyed eating them heartily. And I washed it down with shochu. It was a moment of happiness. Thank you for the meal.

Sapporo Central Ward, Nishi 9 Minami 3-10-39, Sapporo Central Ward, moving from a store located at the corner of Tanuki Koji 7-chome, south of Susukino, along Ekimae Street. It's been about 25-26 years since I last visited Charcoal. On June 23 (Friday), I had a drinking party with my JOB supervisor and four colleagues at my current workplace. We were unsure where to go, so I made a reservation here. We arrived at 7:00 PM, and it was a good decision to make a reservation. The restaurant was almost full, including the seats we reserved. After a few groups left, the restaurant remained full, with more people waiting inside. As you enter the entrance and go to the right, there is a raised seating area with plenty of space. White smoke rises from all over the place. It has a smoke exhaust system, but I couldn't avoid inhaling some smoke. But I guess that's the charm of this place. ■Draft Beer = Asahi Super Dry 620 yen ■Highball (Whiskey and Soda) - Regular size 480 yen = Just the right amount, very satisfying. ■Jack Daniel's Highball 540 yen = Served in a special glass with plenty of whiskey. There seems to be a nomihoudai (all-you-can-drink) option, but they don't offer it. ■Homemade Kimchi from Charcoal 295 yen ■Pork Hormone (Stomach) 360 yen x 3 ■Premium Pork Hormone (Intestines) 495 yen x 4 ■Pork Skirt Meat 495 yen x 4 ■Lamb Loin 640 yen x 3 ■Beef Rib Kalbi 640 yen x 3 ■Squid + Hokki (surf clam) 550 yen Grilled on a charcoal grill, incredibly delicious. A key point is that the seasoning is only salt! There is no sauce provided. Some previous reviews mentioned that you could ask the staff for sauce, but currently, they don't offer it. However, the salt seasoning is delicious enough on its own. Especially the Premium Pork Hormone and Pork Skirt Meat are exceptional. They are so delicious that you could eat them forever. Reservation is a must. I want to go back again. It might even become a monthly regular meeting place.

Located in Asahikawa, the popular horumon (offal) restaurant Nakajima Koen-ten. I visited after the Sapporo Matsuri festival nearby, and it was my first time trying horumon. The restaurant was bustling with energy, filled with customers, and I was pleased to see that it is child-friendly. The menu offers a wide variety of beef, pork, and chicken horumon options, including their popular salted horumon, premium horumon, sagari, and chicken harami. Each dish was flavorful with a good amount of salt, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine through. Ordered raw lamb (640 yen), Yukkejang soup (570 yen), and draft beer (570 yen) for a total of 1,780 yen. I don't have much of an appetite due to a hangover, so I ordered lightly. The raw lamb for 640 yen is such a bargain! The Yukkejang soup is quite voluminous, yet it's only 570 yen which is amazing! I could easily get full just from the Yukkejang soup. However, the hygiene management in the kitchen, like the cutting board, is concerning so I recommend ordering grilled or cooked dishes. And of course, I need some sauce. Thank you for the meal.

Some customers who arrived without reservations were seen leaving. There are also seats on the second floor, making it possible to host large parties.

Visited the restaurant with guests from Tokyo once again. The sunken kotatsu seats are the most relaxing here. It's quite late, so the restaurant is about 60% full. Lately, I find that this level of occupancy makes ordering easier. Ordered the usual menu items. Today, got a bit more hormone, with both prime hormone and salted hormone. It's best when grilled crispy. Diving into the tongue meat, my mouth is covered in grease as I enjoy it. Can't miss the raw lamb, as always delicious without any strong taste. And the beef liver here is recommended. Even those who are slightly averse to liver might enjoy it. Finished off with the usual yukgaejang soup with rice, and it was a feast.

Mixed hormones (430 yen), sliced cartilage and pork (360 yen), kimpa (350 yen), draft beer (570 yen)... I ordered these. The total was 1,710 yen. It's great that it's cheap and they even give you onions as a service. The kimpa for 350 yen is unbelievably cheap! However, I noticed that they seem to pre-make a lot of food under the sink and then cut it as orders come in. They were cutting vegetables and kimpa on the same cutting board where they were handling meat, so the hygiene aspect bothered me a bit. But considering the price, I guess it's okay! (They just wiped the cutting board with meat juice on it) If you're concerned about hygiene, it's probably better not to go. Also, it was a bit disappointing that there was no sauce. Overall, thank you for the meal.

Charcoal grill restaurant Nakajima Koen is a well-known famous restaurant. I have been to the Tanukikoji store (which is now closed), but this is my first time at the Nakajima Koen store. The interior of the restaurant was not as smoky as I had expected. It was a slightly early start for a drinking party, but it was crowded. The seating time is set at 2 and a half hours, which is enough time to enjoy. I didn't order myself, and the detailed menu was a bit confusing. They had the classic thick and thin hormone meats, as well as the seseri (chicken neck) and seaweed rolls. The grill net was thick, so the meat stuck a bit, but everything was delicious.

It's my daughter's birthday, and since she got married and moved out to start her own family, we don't get as many chances to celebrate together. This year, my husband happened to be away on a business trip, so my wife, granddaughter, daughter, and I decided to go out to Susukino. When we asked the birthday girl what she wanted to eat, she said she wanted to go to "Yakiniku" - she's a thrifty and filial daughter (laughs). She's a picky eater, but because she used to pick at our drinks when she was a child, she's able to eat things like liver and offal without any problems. We've been going to this place for decades, and although the menu order is always the same - "premium offal, skirt meat, cartilage block, cartilage slices" - it's a staple for us. Personally, as long as I have the "premium offal and alcohol" here, I could keep going forever. Once, I went with a colleague and we drank from opening to closing, and when the bill came out to almost 20,000 yen, I was definitely surprised. To finish off, we ordered cold noodles and Yukkejang soup. It was delicious as always. After this, they're planning to go for something sweet. Thank you for the meal.

This was not the usual drinking party. I used it for a business dinner with clients, so there are very few photos. The first drink was served quickly, but the food took a while. The service was lacking, with no onions in sight. Only beer was served, and we waited over 30 minutes for any food to come out. Finally, I had to ask a staff member, "Where's the meat?" and after another 10 minutes, the first meat and onions arrived. The rest of the meat didn't come all at once, but rather one dish at a time, unlike the usual style of this type of restaurant. The taste of the meat was good, but perhaps because we ate slowly, we didn't eat as much as usual and felt full. The clients praised the hormone dish, and even though I usually don't like liver, they said they could eat it here. We also enjoyed a Yukgaejang soup and rice, sharing plates to create our final dish. We ended the meal with a delicious Yukgaejang soup. Thank you for the meal.

My wife went to Tokyo to play, so those left behind went for yakiniku. Since my daughter doesn't drink alcohol and can drive, I made a reservation at Yakiniku Charcoal. It was a date with my daughter at Yakiniku Charcoal. I drove there myself and parked at a nearby Times parking lot. We arrived at the reserved time, started with beer. My daughter, who loves green onions, ordered green onion salt oil as a condiment and got ready for battle. The must-have food was the hormone, which my daughter loves. We grilled it until it was crispy. There was also tongue meat. It seems like you get two pieces per person. We take a big bite. We also grilled pork belly and chicken fire while extinguishing the flames. Once it's properly cooked, it has a good texture and taste with fat. We also grilled sagari and raw lamb, which increased in thickness and roundness when cooked, making it delicious. For the finale, my daughter had pork tongue, while I had seseri and chicken harami. It might have been my first time eating pork tongue, but I felt like my daughter taught me the deliciousness. Thank you for the meal.

It's been about 3 months since I last visited Charcoal Grill. It wasn't completely full at the reserved time. Started with a beer. It was nicely chilled and tasty. Got a complimentary onion. Ordered the tongue since it wasn't sold out today. Have to suck the meat off the bone, but it's delicious. The upper tongue and salted tongue are both tasty. It's hard to tell the portion size when they serve two types of meat on one plate. Some meats are too salty. Thank you for the meal. Today, I only had 2 beers and 1 glass of sake. Because the service wasn't that great. I had to remind them about the sake. They must have forgotten for sure. Maybe they don't have enough staff.

I visited this place near Nakajima Koen Station as the Tanukikoji store I used to go to has closed down. When I came here, I wanted to try both the salt hormone and the top hormone, so I ordered a mix. The salt hormone had a good chewy texture, while the top hormone was thin and almost falling through the grill. Since I was in Hokkaido, I also tried the raw lamb. It was thick and delicious, although it was a bit tricky to cook it just right. I also had the special simmered dish from Charcoal Grill, which had chunky ingredients. Overall, the nostalgic atmosphere and eating in the smoky environment made the food taste even better.

The night before moving, I went to a restaurant called Sumi-ya near the hotel. Even though I often see horumon (offal) being sold at supermarkets, it was my first time visiting this restaurant. When you order meat, they serve complimentary onions. Sumi-ya is known for its salt-seasoned dishes, so there is no need for sauce. The saltiness is just right, making it so easy to keep eating. We used to go to the Kotoni branch a lot during our time in Sapporo, but this time we chose the Nakajima Koen branch because my friend was coming from work and I was staying near Sapporo Station. It's not as smoky as Kotoni. ★ Date and Time of Visit ★ October 26, 2022 (Wednesday) / around 7:00 pm ★ Purpose ★ Drinking with a close female friend ★ Order Details ★ Sagari (450 yen), Sliced Nankotsu (382 yen), Mixed Hormone (391 yen), and a total of 10 servings of meat, including other meats, Frankfurter (450 yen), Healthy Cold Noodles (619 yen), etc. ★ Order to Serving Time ★ About 5 minutes ★ Review of the Food ★ The menu here mainly consists of pork, especially hormone. There are also beef and chicken, but we mostly ordered pork. Maybe because it's pork, but it's really cheap. I love pork to begin with, so I don't mind the smell, and when grilled crispy over charcoal, it's really delicious. Especially the mixed hormone is irresistible. The texture of the Yagen and sliced Nankotsu is perfect for drinking. We eat it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, as there is no sauce. Thanks to this, we can eat endlessly. ★ Recommended Points!! ★ You can enjoy it really cheaply. The Kotoni branch has been featured on the TV show "Sekkaku Gourmet" by the comedy duo Banana Man. There are several branches in the city, so it's recommended for tourists as well. You can enjoy the unique pork yakiniku of Hokkaido. It's really cheap, but this day we ate so much that it cost over 4000 yen per person. Oh, it was delicious. I really love Charcoal♡
