☆Wife's Casual Lunch Trip! [Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture]‼︎⇒ This time, it's the wife's choice edition. This course is perfect for women's appetites. $ Order! *"Mini Course" 2420 yen: The basic set includes appetizer, soup, main dish, choice of bread or rice, dessert platter, and drink. You can also select additional appetizer and main dish for an extra charge. Adding the "5 kinds of appetizer platter" costs an extra 550 yen, making the total 2970 yen (tax included). ・Appetizer "5 kinds of platter (persimmon and prosciutto), (yellowtail carpaccio), (Lyon-style sausage), (homemade ham), (quiche)"... 3.8: The portions are quite generous and the flavors are satisfying without being too salty. ・Soup "Shinokabra Soup"... 4.0: More like a creamy potage, it has a refreshing taste. Note: I was so engrossed in the delicious appetizers that I forgot to take a picture. Sorry about that. ・"Pan-fried Suzuki with Bourgogne sauce"... 4.5: The crispy skin and tender flesh with creamy sauce is amazing! It goes really well with the bread. ・Bread "2 types of French bread"... 3.5: I also chose the bread. ・Dessert "Chocolate tart, persimmon, homemade pudding, cassis sherbet"... 3.8: The chocolate tart was delicious, though a bit heavy after a full meal. The cassis sherbet's acidity was a perfect match. ・Drink "Iced coffee"... 3.5: A refreshing way to end the meal! Conclusion: We enjoyed both meat and fish dishes, everything was delicious, and we will definitely come back for more! I still have more recommendations to try next time. Thank you for your support with likes, saving the restaurant, and following. I would be very happy to receive comments and questions. Thank you all for your continued support.

After receiving my paycheck, I decided to treat myself to a luxurious lunch at a cactus-themed restaurant. I made a reservation and arrived at the restaurant. I chose the mini-course with a selection of appetizers and a main course. The appetizer was a platter of charcuterie, and for the main course, I chose the roasted lamb back meat. The charcuterie was very authentic and delicious, and the roasted lamb was incredibly tender and flavorful. The dessert was a perfect way to end the meal. The total bill came to 4070 yen, the same as last time. The only downside was a mistake in my drink order, which was promptly corrected by the staff, but I wished they had apologized for the error. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

It had been a while since I visited at night. There was parking available and seats were open, so I wondered if the hype had died down a bit. The food was as delicious as ever, with generous portions and great value for money. The high-end course includes both fish and meat dishes, but this time the fish dish was particularly delicious. We always order a full bottle of wine, and if not for that, we would get change back from 10,000 yen for two people.

Taking into account the previous failure, this time I made a reservation on a weekday. The parking lot was already full due to reservations, so I couldn't park there. I tried to park at a nearby hospital, but it was almost full of patients. Since there was a security guard there, I had to park on a distant road. I made a reservation for 11:30, so I was able to sit down smoothly (of course). I chose the mini course today because I wanted to indulge a bit, and I ordered an additional charge for the appetizer and main course. Appetizer (5 kinds of assorted +550 yen) ★★★★★ The mini course allows you to choose the appetizer for an additional charge of +550 yen, unlike the fixed 5 kinds of appetizers in the full course. I was curious about the other appetizers, but many customers ordered the 5 kinds of appetizers during my previous visit, so I ordered it today. Among the 5 items that came out, the appetizer of prosciutto and fig on the far left was very impressive with the ripe sweetness of the figs and the saltiness of the prosciutto matching perfectly. The homemade quiche and yellowtail carpaccio were also very delicious. Cold soup (cold sweet potato soup) ★★★☆☆ It was the same soup as my previous visit, with a mild sweetness and easy to drink because it was cold. The plate it was served on was a bit different from last time. The plate from last time had a narrow mouth and a deep bottom. This time, the plate had a wider mouth and a shallower bottom. Main course (A5 Iwate beef fillet steak +1100 yen) ★★★★★ Under the meat were sautéed potatoes, spinach, carrots, cabbage, zucchini, and many other vegetables. The quality of the main meat was excellent as expected of A5. When I cut into the meat with a knife, it sliced easily, melted in my mouth, and the deliciousness and high-quality fat taste of the meat lingered afterwards. This was by far the best meat dish I have ever had. A customer who came later ordered this dish three times, but they could only serve up to three dishes today, so they had to give up because I had ordered one dish. I realized that I wouldn't hesitate to spend money on such delicious food. It's a matter of luck whether you encounter such a dish or not. Dessert ★★★★☆ The dessert last time was watermelon, black currant grape sherbet, pudding, and chocolate cake, but this time it was changed to cheesecake. I wonder if it changes depending on the season. All of them had a mild sweetness and were delicious. The total bill this time was 4070 yen for the mini course 2200 yen, plus 550 yen for the appetizer and 1100 yen for the main course. It was quite luxurious for a meal, but it was a great motivation for my future work. Thank you for the meal. I plan to make a reservation again when my next salary comes in.

I arrived at the restaurant on a holiday without a reservation at 11:30, but all the seats were already reserved, so I was asked to call back between 12:30 and 13:00 if a table became available. I reluctantly agreed. Finally, at around 12:40, I received a call and immediately returned to the restaurant. I was seated at a counter table that was like a sunken kotatsu. There were three courses available, but as I have a small appetite, I opted for the mini course (2400 yen) and chose an appetizer and a main dish. The popular dish at this restaurant, lamb, had limited availability, so they requested that each table only order one portion. I quickly ordered the lamb. For the appetizer, I ordered a salad with duck meat as I wanted to eat some vegetables. They mentioned that there was a 100 yen extra charge for a large portion of rice. Since I couldn't eat much for the main dish, I chose bread. The soup arrived first, followed by the salad with duck meat, then the bread, and finally the main dish of lamb. Each dish was brought out at just the right timing as I finished the previous one. I thoroughly enjoyed the dessert as well. The total cost was around 3800 yen, which was a great deal for the quality of the course meal. I wonder if they can still make a profit with such pricing. Thank you for the meal. It took about 1 hour from my arrival to departure. The lunch hours are actually from 11:30 to 14:00, but the restaurant prefers customers to arrive by 13:00 at the latest. I now understand the reason behind this. There were other customers who arrived after 13:00 without a reservation, and they were restricted in their menu choices. It seems that if you arrive after 13:00 during lunch hours, you may face limitations on what you can order. Please take note.

I made a reservation at a restaurant I was curious about and visited. I walked from the station through a residential area and found the restaurant! Inside, the atmosphere was calming. The course meal had generous portions, with appetizers, main dishes of fish and meat, and especially the roast Japanese beef lamp had a huge portion! By the time I finished eating, I was already full! The drink menu also had a wide variety and all were reasonably priced. The dessert at the end was also very delicious, making it the best dinner ever.

I received a mini course and had a hard time choosing one dish from the variety of appetizers and main dishes. The food was delicious. The room I was seated in was separate from the main building, so I was curious about what the main building looked like. Unfortunately, I couldn't secure a parking spot when I made the reservation, so I parked in a paid parking lot. It was a bit disappointing.笑

Located near Mahori Station in Kameoka City, behind the civic hospital, this hidden gem bistro is extremely popular, so it is highly recommended to make a reservation before going. Parking is also prioritized for reservation holders. The parking lot is about 100m ahead on the left side with space for 5 cars and 1 small car. I arrived at the site around 11:15 before the start of Sunday lunch service and was the first in line. On this day, I chose the lunch mini-course. You can choose one appetizer and one main dish from a wide selection of menus. This comes with soup and bread or rice, dessert, and coffee for 2,420 yen. The portion of the dishes is generous, so the mini-course is enough to satisfy your hunger. The recommended appetizer of the day was tuna and avocado with wasabi soy sauce. The Lyon-style sausage and Kujo green onion vinaigrette were new tastes for me and quite good. The main dish of grilled lamb saddle meat with basil-flavored lamb was tenderly cooked and had a juicy flavor that spread in the mouth. The assorted mushrooms and vegetables as side dishes were colorful and visually delightful. The beef shoulder loin steak had a crispy surface and paired well with the garlic sauce, also delicious. After enjoying dessert and coffee, I was already satisfied and full. If there is a restaurant like this nearby, I would want to visit every week.

I chose to entertain my friend from Taiwan with Japanese cuisine, as it seemed like a common choice. I made a reservation over the phone about a week in advance and visited by car on the day, parking in the restaurant's parking lot. We ordered the Mini Course for 2420 yen, tax included, which included the following: Appetizer was the daily quiche soup, which was a carrot soup (I was so eager to eat that I forgot to take a photo). The main dish was beef shoulder loin steak with special garlic soy sauce. For dessert, we had a delicious meal. The main meat was tender and had a unique texture, not too tough but not too soft either, which I personally enjoyed. The garlic soy sauce was very tasty. You can choose between rice and bread, and I chose bread. It was a delicious, slightly warm, crispy and chewy bread. The carrot soup had a delicious flavor and sweetness, even for those who dislike carrots. The quiche was also very tasty, I wanted to have more. My friend from Taiwan was very happy, so I felt really good about dining here. I really wanted to try the small shrimp Burgundy-style gratin on the appetizer menu, but unfortunately, it was not available at the time of our visit, possibly sold out since opening, and the substitute was oyster Burgundy-style gratin, but there was a limit of one order per group, so I had to give up on it. I really wanted to try it, but I had to accept the situation. I guess without such limits, the popular items would be quickly sold out. I would like to try it next time. It was a great value for money and delicious, so I would like to visit again. I think making a reservation is the right choice. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for lunch on a regular weekday. I made a reservation and found that the restaurant was quite popular as most seats were filled. I ordered the mini course which allowed me to choose from several options for appetizers and main dishes. The course also included soup, rice or bread, dessert, and coffee or tea. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. I was very satisfied with being able to enjoy authentic and tasty cuisine in Kameoka city.

At the end of last year, I visited a restaurant in Kameoka City introduced by Matsuno from "Kyoto Megane TAXI" on the TV show "Take me to the best restaurant, taxi driver". After getting off at JR Umahori Station, which I probably would never have gotten off at without a reason like this, I walked for 5 minutes and arrived at the restaurant at 12:10. There was no queue, and the place looked like a regular house without a sign, making it hard to find without prior knowledge, but that added to its charm as a hidden gem. I didn't make a reservation in advance, but I was able to enter smoothly and was guided to a separate room. The cozy room had 3 small tables for 2 people and 1 table for 4 people, and of course, I chose a table for 2. For lunch, there were 3 types of courses available: Mini Course, Full Course, and One Plate Lunch. I chose the Mini Course but couldn't resist trying the dishes recommended by Matsuno on the show, so I paid extra to change the appetizer and main dish. I also indulged in the restaurant's original craft beer, "Senri Cactus Original Pale Ale," which had a slightly amber color and a light, refreshing taste. The Mini Course started with the appetizer, where I selected Matsuno's recommended "Oyster Bourguignon Gratin." It was a fragrant dish with 4 small oysters, various mushrooms, and a white sauce with a hint of Genovese sauce. The next course was bread, and I chose the hard bread to accompany the gratin. Next was the seasonal soup, which was a delicious "Turnip Potage" with a gentle sweetness. Then came the highlight, the main dish - Matsuno's recommended "Roast Black Wagyu Lamp." The visually stunning dish featured tender, rare-cooked beef with a variety of vegetables and rosemary. I ended the meal with a dessert platter and coffee. The dessert platter included cassis sorbet, homemade custard pudding, baked cheesecake, and cut fruits. The coffee was a perfect way to conclude the satisfying dining experience. The attentive service, smooth serving of dishes, and overall pleasant atmosphere made it a delightful dining experience. I look forward to trying more dishes and visiting again for dinner in the future.

In a quiet residential area of Kameoka, enjoy a dinner course at a cozy bistro that feels like a hidden gem. The restaurant, renovated from an old folk house, is covered in ivy and exudes a fairy tale-like atmosphere. Inside, you take off your shoes before entering, adding to the cozy and welcoming ambiance. We made a reservation for our visit, and parking was smoothly arranged. There are two course options, and we chose Course B which allows you to enjoy both meat and fish. For the main course, we ordered the pan-fried sea bass and seared lamb saddle. The variety of choices made it difficult to decide! We started with a colorful assortment of 5 seasonal appetizers, each carefully prepared and delicious. The quiche was particularly outstanding! Bread and soup followed, with two types of bread and a turnip potage soup that was both comforting and delicious. The sea bass was cooked perfectly, with a crispy skin and tender flesh that paired well with the sweet sauce and ancient rice accent. The surprise sweetness of the cabbage on the side was delightful. The lamb saddle was also substantial and flavorful, with tender meat and a zesty yuzu pepper sauce. The meal ended with coffee and a dessert platter featuring cassis sorbet, homemade pudding, chocolate tart, and sliced fruits. Each item was enjoyable, and the portion size was satisfying. The overall quality of the meal was impressive, especially considering the reasonable price. The staff were attentive, and the service was excellent. Dining in the charming atmosphere of the old folk house was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Dinner Course B 3200 yen.

I went to this restaurant after a colleague recommended it to me. It was my first time getting off at Baba Hori station. The restaurant had a unique exterior and a great atmosphere. I opted for the lunch mini course, which included a choice of appetizer and main dish. The content of this course was amazing for the price of 2200 yen. The appetizer portion was generous, and the main dish portion was substantial. The taste was also delicious. The dessert portion was decent as well, and overall it was fantastic. I will definitely come back again.

From the famous Arashiyama with the Togetsukyo Bridge, if you extend your walk one station, I recommend this shop. It seems to be a renovated old folk house, with a very nice atmosphere, but the entrance is confusing. The menu is diverse and can be overwhelming, as there are no standard course options like in major chain stores. Each dish seems to be a masterpiece lined up side by side. This time, I narrowed it down to around 2000 yen for an affordable price. Starting from appetizers to soup to the main course, each dish is of high quality. The prosciutto and fig salad for the appetizer is surprisingly good. The dressing, perhaps a homemade mix of oil, vinegar, and soy sauce, is simple yet delicious. After the meal, dessert is served with ice cream, mini cake, bavarois, and fruits. The ice cream is rich and delicious, making you want to take it home. Overall, the price, portion, and quality exceeded expectations. With a huge menu, it's a place where you'd want to try various dishes when in Kyoto.

Seeking something delicious, my two friends and I decided to venture a little further out without a reservation. We chose this place based on a friend's inspiration from the name alone (haha). And that inspiration turned out to be spot on! The restaurant opened at 11:30, but we arrived around 11:10 after parking in a nearby private lot and walking over. We were the first in line, but soon others started gathering in the quiet residential area, a sign of its popularity. Everyone else turned out to be reservation guests, so we were the last to enter. Luckily, a table had just opened up, so we were seated right away. It's common for such places to require reservations, huh... ^^;; Upon entering, we took off our shoes. The restaurant was a renovated private home, with a cozy interior and a welcoming atmosphere. The central counter had a sunken foot area like a kotatsu, making it quite comfortable. We looked over the menu and asked the staff for recommendations, ultimately choosing the mini course (@2,420). The appetizer was today's recommended dish, tuna and avocado with wasabi soy sauce, the main course was today's fish dish (sauteed black sea bream), and we added rice and hot coffee. The appetizer featured fresh tuna and avocado in a fantastic combination, with a generous portion. The soup was light yet flavorful. The main course of black sea bream had a crispy, fragrant skin and a fresh, delicate yet robust flavor. The creamy sauce paired well with it, and the addition of fish head made it even more satisfying. The salad was served on a separate plate, but the main plate also had plenty of blanched vegetables. I think bread would have been good with the main course, but I personally felt that rice was the right choice. The dessert platter included panna cotta, blackcurrant gelato, chocolate cake, and strawberries, all delicious. The coffee, while decent, was a bit ordinary compared to the other dishes. Overall, everything we chose had great flavor and portion size. The appetizer and main course, both fish dishes, stood out in particular. For the price, I felt it was definitely worth it. If the coffee had been of higher quality, it would have enhanced the post-meal experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I would love to visit again.

The exterior of the newly opened shop has a charming, vine-covered appearance. The interior is also in an old house style, not too spacious but just the right size. I used it for lunch and ordered the basic 2000 yen mini course. The appetizer was smoked mackerel and potato salad, with a satisfying amount and delicious taste. The sweet potato soup was also delicious. For an additional 750 yen, I had the grilled chicken and foie gras as the main dish, which was rich and delicious. The dessert of chestnut ice cream had just the right sweetness, and the ripe persimmon added a seasonal touch. However, it was a bit disappointing that the part-time staff in the hall seemed busy and inexperienced, and the glass of wine took a while to arrive. Taking the train to Kameoka and having lunch at this restaurant alone is worth it!

Now, we had a family celebration in Kameoka and went to have a meal at a restaurant called "Sabo-ten," which means cactus. The restaurant was highly recommended. The exterior of the restaurant was a traditional Japanese house with overgrown grass and a partially hidden sign, creating a slightly unsettling feeling. Upon entering, the interior was somewhat fantastical and nostalgic, with mainly table seating and a counter seat area in the center of the restaurant. The ambiance was lovely and suitable for various occasions such as dates, casual dining, for both men and women. The dinner menu offered two basic courses, A for ¥2500 and B for ¥3000, with the option to choose a main dish from a selection of fish, meat, etc., with an additional cost depending on the choice. We, a group of four, all chose the A course. Our main dishes included Wagyu beef fillet steak with foie gras for two, lamb back meat roast with thyme for one, and today's fish dish (pan-fried sea bass) for one. We all opted for bread instead of rice. We enjoyed beers and red wine during the meal. The appetizers were beautifully presented on a long plate, featuring tuna carpaccio, Jamon Serrano, quiche, and fresh and carefully prepared side vegetables. The cold carrot soup was sweet and delicious. The Wagyu beef fillet steak with foie gras was visually stunning and tasted luxurious with a generous amount of foie gras. The lamb back meat roast was cooked to perfection, and the pink rareness made it a delightful dish. The sea bass was elegantly prepared and had a familiar taste that pleased the Japanese palate. The dessert was a refreshing sorbet and a mini cake. The total cost for four people was around ¥16000, which was surprisingly affordable for the quality and taste of the dishes. We left the restaurant satisfied and impressed with the value for money. The service was excellent, and we are looking forward to visiting again.
