Today, I stopped by the exhibition at Big Sight for a bit and then left halfway to do some work on my computer here at the Ito Yokado food court. I can't say it loudly, but this food court has many counter tables with outlets, which is very helpful for people like me who are on the go. The food court here is somewhat small-scale, and compared to shopping malls, it feels a bit lacking, but it offers a variety of options including the usual ramen shop, fast food like McDonald's and KFC, and sweets like Mister Donut and Baskin Robbins. It started getting crowded around 11:30 am. The sound of people chatting and eating is non-stop. As far as I can see, the only place with a line is McDonald's. By the way, McDonald's is currently offering Chinese-style burgers for the first time. They have Oil Dripping Chicken Burger, Dan Dan Beef Burger, and Shrimp Chili Burger, each priced at around 500 yen for the burger alone and around 700 yen for a set. Many older people who are not used to the ordering process were there at the early hours, so waiting was inevitable. However, the staff, many of whom are foreigners, were very polite and provided excellent service. I ordered the Dan Dan Beef Burger, Black Pepper Nuggets 5 pieces (with garlic sauce), and a Coca-Cola set for 790 yen. People who had placed their orders were now lining up in front of the counter. Now, for the taste test. First, I quenched my thirst with the Coke. Then, I took a big bite of the burger. The flavor of the Dan Dan spread instantly in my mouth. While the appearance was that of a very ordinary burger, the unique Chinese spices and seasoning quickly filled the room. It's a burger, but it tastes like Chinese... my mind is confused! I don't dislike the taste, but I may not want to eat it again. Interestingly, more people in the line ordered the Oil Dripping Chicken Burger than the Dan Dan Beef and Shrimp Chili, perhaps because it was 60 yen cheaper. Next, the Black Pepper Nuggets 5 pieces for 220 yen were covered in pepper. There's nothing special about them. I chose the new garlic-flavored sauce! The smell of black pepper and garlic is very enticing, right? The nuggets themselves were...
