Ramen activity on a Sunday morning in Kyoto ✨ I visited this restaurant that opens at 10 am ^_^ I've liked it since my student days ^ - ^ Ramen Fujii Kyoto Honten. When I arrived around 10:40 am, there was only one parking space left, luckily! Inside, the counter seats were full and there were no table seats. I ordered the following: Ramen ¥850 (firm noodles, extra green onions). On the table, there were plenty of condiments like shichimi and soy sauce, which is great for those who like it spicy. After waiting for about 6-7 minutes, the ramen arrived. First, the extra green onions were great, and I love this soy sauce color. The thin straight noodles have a similar vibe to Ichiran's, but with a subtle difference. The broth is light but the soy sauce flavor is solid and leaves a delicious taste in your mouth. The noodles from Kondo Seimen are flawless! The balance of saltiness was exquisite and I loved it. The generous amount of bean sprouts and chashu absorbed the soup and when eaten with the noodles, it was a satisfying bowl. This light ramen in the morning was comforting and fulfilling. It was delicious! #RamenFujii #ConnectingWithPeopleWhoLoveRamen #FamousRamenShopsInKyoto #KyotoGourmet #RamenFujiiHonten #ReliabilityOfKondoSeimen #RamenWithExtraGreenOnions

After work in Kyoto, I went to have lunch at Ramen Fujii Kyoto Main Store. I arrived around 1 pm and there was a short line, about 5 minutes, before entering the restaurant. I ordered the lunch set C, which includes ramen and pork rice for 1050 yen. I chose firm noodles for the ramen. The noodles were thin and straight. The soup was a slightly sweet soy sauce base. The toppings included spicy palesto and chili peppers, which allowed me to adjust the spiciness to my liking. The ramen was delicious.

I bought a 1-day pass for the Kyoto subway and wandered around the area near Yamashina Station while thinking about buying souvenirs like bread, tofu, and Japanese sweets. I remembered there used to be a delicious tofu shop with a great owner. In the end, I didn't buy anything. It was past 3:00 PM and most restaurants were closed for lunch break. I wondered if this place was still open. If not, I would go back to Kyoto Station. I walked from Jujo Station and found that it was open. I decided to skip rice and ordered Menma ramen for 900 yen. The noodles were normal in firmness, and it came with a gentle soup, bean sprouts, green onions, and thinly sliced chashu. It was quite satisfying as always. Thank you for the meal!

I had a lunch set of ramen and gyoza. The staff were very friendly, and the ramen was very filling but I finished it all. It gets crowded during lunchtime, but the turnover is quick so you can get in soon. They also have a secure parking lot.

It's been over 10 years since I last visited the main store.... It had been a while, but I felt relieved to taste the familiar flavors. In the past, I used to order gyoza for two people, rice, and kimchi, but at my age now, that amount is too much.... However, the gyoza was cooked perfectly and delicious, so I highly recommend it! I was surprised by the amount of ramen when it arrived! But it was delicious, so I managed to finish it. Please be aware that they are currently operating with shortened hours.

There was a training session nearby, so there was a line forming every day around 12 o'clock. It was a Sunday, so it was pretty crowded. I waited for about 20 minutes in the hot weather before getting in. At the entrance, I grabbed some water and a hand towel and found a seat. Today, I ordered miso ramen and gyoza. Don't forget to specify firm noodles and extra vegetables for the ramen. The miso soup was delicious, just as good as the soy sauce one. The gyoza were small and easy to eat, and you could choose between garlic or no garlic. I chose garlic, and they were really tasty. Since it was Sunday, I had to order each item separately as there was no set menu available.

On Saturday at 12 o'clock, I visited the restaurant. The inside was crowded, but since I was alone, I was able to get a seat right away. There was a line forming afterwards at the entrance. I took water and a hand towel at the entrance, and ordered lunch set C. The pork bowl looked a bit different visually (laughs), but it tasted delicious. The ramen came quickly after ordering, with firm noodles and a light soy sauce flavor. It had a lot of vegetables and you can order more without knowing. I would definitely like to use that option next time. The parking lot is always full, so it's safer to use a nearby parking lot. If you're lucky, the parking lot in front of the restaurant might be available.

This shop has a few parking spaces in front of the store, as well as a few more in the monthly parking lot in front of the store. I visited on a Sunday around 11 am. There was already one person waiting as all the seats were full. I lined up and waited. The staff do not call out names, so you have to wait for them to show you to your seat while observing the inside of the store. I was able to enter after about 5 minutes. I ordered the regular ramen with firm noodles, extra green onions, pork rice, and dumplings. Many people order with firm noodles and extra green onions. It was served in about 15 minutes. The ramen had a clear soup with slightly thin straight noodles and a lot of green onions on top. The soup looked light but had a rich flavor. The thin noodles slid smoothly into the mouth. The generous amount of green onions and bean sprouts added a nice touch. The chashu pork was firm and paired well with the soup. I was expecting the pork rice to be like fried rice, but it was completely different. It had minced pork, shredded egg, and greens on top of white rice. Mix it well and it tastes refreshing. The dumplings were small but juicy. You can enjoy delicious, old-fashioned Kyoto-style ramen here. Thank you for the meal.

I found this place near the Kyoto Minami Interchange where it was easy to park my car. I was looking for a ramen place that was not too greasy and heavy, and I stumbled upon this one. There were about 4-5 parking spaces in front of the restaurant, and an additional 4 spaces in the neighboring parking lot, as well as a paid coin parking lot with around 10 spaces. When I arrived around 11:30 on a Saturday, the designated parking spaces were already full, so I parked in the coin parking lot, which was within my expectations. Luckily, there was no line outside and I was able to get seated almost immediately, even though the restaurant was almost full. My companion ordered the regular ramen (¥850) and I ordered the special (¥1050), both with firm noodles and extra green onions. The kitchen was long and narrow, with 5-6 staff members working efficiently. About 10 minutes later, we were served with a mountain of green onions on our ramen. The difference between the regular and special ramen seemed to be the presence of bamboo shoots and the amount of bean sprouts and chashu pork. The noodles were thin and straight, with a firm texture as requested. The soup appeared to be pork bone based, but it was clear and amber in color, with a strong saltiness and plenty of umami flavor. The chashu pork was thinly sliced and flavorful. There were plenty of bean sprouts in the bowl, making it a satisfying meal even without rice. I added some red miso paste from the table to spice things up halfway through the meal. It added a nice kick to the flavor. Wait, this taste seems familiar... Oh, I remember now, it reminds me of Ramen Kairikiya! The difference is in the back fat and spice level, but the taste is quite similar. This style seems to be the basis for traditional Kyoto ramen. Overall, the ramen with plenty of green onions was delicious. I was also relieved that the coin parking only cost ¥100. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back! (^_^)ゞ

I arrived in Kyoto's Tojo today, but many shops are closed due to a typhoon. However, I stumbled upon a highly-rated Kyoto ramen shop that was open! I went to "Ramen Fujii" where they only have counter seats and ordered the following menu items: - Special Ramen ¥1050 - Kimchi ¥180 - Rice ¥160 The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The special ramen had a generous amount of chashu pork slices that were delicious. The soup was not too heavy and easy to drink, which I personally enjoyed. The thin noodles paired well with the broth. In Kyoto, people tend to go to places like "Daiichi Asahi" for ramen, but it's nice to try other ramen shops once in a while. On my Instagram account "Nonaru Danshi no Tokyo Lunch Meshi" with 70,000 followers, I introduce delicious food from Tokyo and various regions across Japan!

This is the main branch of Ramen Fujii. I arrived a little after 12pm on a weekday and there were 8 people waiting outside. I thought the line would move quickly with this number of people, but standing in the open with no shade, I started feeling tired after a few minutes. Since it was my first time at this restaurant, I wasn't sure when to enter the store. The entrance and exit were separate, and the timing of customers leaving and people waiting outside entering was inconsistent. When I finally reached the front of the line, I was still unsure. As I peered into the dimly lit interior from outside, an older man inside the kitchen beckoned me over. So that's how it works... I thought about just getting the ramen by itself, but decided to order the Ramen and Pork Bowl Set. The pork bowl was different from what I expected, with minced meat topped with shredded egg, green onions, and seaweed in a sweet and savory sauce. The ramen, which I ordered with firm noodles and extra green onions, was served with a generous amount of soup and a saucer. The soup was quite salty. Overall, it reminded me a lot of the ramen shops in Takabashi. The ramen and pork bowl were very filling. Thank you for the meal.

When I went to Kyoto, I noticed a long line in front of a restaurant every afternoon. However, when I visited before 11 am on a weekday, there was no line. I tried their ramen for an early lunch, priced at 850 yen. I ordered it with firm noodles and extra green onions, as recommended. The ramen had a generous amount of finely chopped green onions on top of soft, shredded pork chashu and some bean sprouts. The soup was a salty pork bone soy clear broth, and the noodles had a standard medium thickness. The noodles were slightly firm, offering a nice texture. I heard that this ramen place is known as the "soul noodles of Kyoto," and it reminded me of other famous ramen shops in Kyoto. The taste was delicious and nostalgic, with a hint of Showa-era charm. I also tried the seasoned egg, which was tasty and worth the extra 50 yen. It was my first time trying this ramen, and I found it to be quite enjoyable. It seems like Kyoto has a culture of serving ramen early in the morning, as seen in other popular ramen shops like Daiichi Asahi and Shinpukusai-kan. The early opening hours are convenient for people working outside. I made a mistake by parking at a coin parking lot after seeing the restaurant's parking lot full, only to later find out that there was free parking available inside.

Ramen is 850 yen, with extra green onions. Prices have gone up here too, but it's understandable. I visit this place often, but there are hardly any photos. I enjoy eating traditional ramen lately, and the taste is always reliable. The location is a bit inconvenient, not a tourist spot, so not many people from other prefectures visit. However, it is without a doubt a renowned restaurant in Kyoto. I want to recommend it, but I also want to keep it a hidden gem since Kyoto Station is becoming crowded.

I was looking for a place to eat and found this restaurant through Tabelog. It's rare to find a place with parking around here. When you enter the restaurant, it feels like an old-fashioned ramen shop. It's simple. I ordered ramen and white rice. The water is self-service. The ramen was served, and I took a sip of the soup. It's like Kyoto-style ramen, light and soy sauce-based, I think. There were plenty of bean sprouts and green onions. It was delicious.

I visited for the first time during the day. It was a hot weekday afternoon, and although the restaurant was almost full, I was lucky to find one seat available. I ordered the noodles firm, with extra green onions and a boiled egg. The taste was a mix between Ichiran and Shinpukusaikan, and personally, it might be the best fit for me. The atmosphere and service of the staff were very pleasant. Highly recommended in Kyoto.

On the way back from a business trip to Kyoto, I made a detour and visited this ramen shop around 2 PM. There was one group waiting outside when I arrived. I parked my car in the parking lot and joined the line, and was able to enter the shop quickly. It was my first visit, so I wasn't familiar with the rules and ended up ordering the regular ramen with special toppings. It took about 10 minutes for the ramen to be served. I noticed that people who came after me were ordering extra green onions or bean sprouts, so I wondered if you could add vegetables. The ramen was a bit salty, but still delicious and I finished it all. They have a parking lot, making it convenient to visit by car. Overall, it's a ramen shop that makes you want to go back for their gyoza and beer too!

In June 2023, after eating okonomiyaki at "Gongitsune" restaurant, I secretly took my companion to a nearby restaurant that I wanted to try. We ordered ramen with firm noodles, ramen with extra bamboo shoots and green onions, and garlic gyoza. We also had bottled Kirin beer. The ramen had a salty soy sauce flavor with thin slices of chashu and plenty of green onions and bean sprouts. The noodles were firm but not too hard, with a slightly chewy texture. We added some doubanjiang to the soup, which enhanced the flavor. The garlic gyoza was small but tasty, with a crispy skin and a flavorful garlic filling. My companion and I were both satisfied with the meal, and I was happy with the overall experience.

It's been a while since I visited Ramen Fujisan. This is my first time at the main store. There are about four parking spaces in front of the store. It's common to see lines during lunchtime. The shop is long and narrow with only a counter. You have to get your own water. The menu is simple. When you enter and decide on your order, they will ask you about the firmness of the noodles. I said "slightly firm," but I should have gone for firmer. I ordered the regular ramen. My companion got the ramen set with gyoza and rice. The gyoza is small, but perfectly cooked! The ramen has thin egg noodles and is delicious! Next time, I'll try the special ramen!

I ordered a regular size ramen with extra green onions, along with garlic dumplings and a bottle of beer on Friday night around 8 pm. When I arrived, there were about 3 customers already there, but the place quickly filled up. The ramen was delicious with firm noodles and lots of green onions. You can also add extra vegetables. The green onions and thin slices of pork were amazing. The dumplings were small but had a nice texture. The bottled beer was either Asahi or Kirin. Everything was delicious! It seems like they will be raising their prices starting in July.

I visited Ramen Fujisan for the first time ☆彡 I originally planned to go to a Chinese restaurant, but unfortunately they were closed when I arrived. It's great that Ramen Fujisan is open all day (*-ω-) I didn't have a plan, so I ended up ordering the special ramen (1000 yen including tax). It's a classic Kyoto-style clear pork bone soy sauce ramen. The broth is salty with a hint of sourness, but not much soy sauce flavor. The noodles are from Kondo Seimenjo, the same as used in Shinpuku Sakan and Daiichi Asahi, with a soft and chewy texture that goes well with the soup. The chashu was well-cooked and flavorful. There were plenty of bean sprouts and green onions with a crunchy texture. In my opinion, this ramen falls into the category of Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa era style ramen. I personally couldn't distinguish the difference in taste between Ramen Fujisan, Daiichi Asahi, and Ooie-san. However, it is very popular among the locals and constantly crowded with customers. It's a beloved ramen shop with a parking lot, which is a big plus.

Today, although it is now a new day, I went to Ramen Fujimoto yesterday. I live in Yamashina Ward, so I grew up eating Ramen Ten's ramen, which is like an older brother to me, so it feels very familiar. It was incredibly stable and delicious. The extra green onions and moist chashu with a great soy sauce flavor were all fantastic. I would rate it 3.57 out of 5. Thank you for the meal.
