Kyoto Gojo.
Marunicafe @marunicafe.
The peach season is almost over, but I was able to go just in time! I went to the store and wrote down my desired time slot on the reservation sheet. Luckily, they said there was an opening for the time slot starting now, so lucky me. The peach shaved ice for 1,500 yen with ice topping for an extra 150 yen was delicious. The sliced peaches were tasty, and the peach syrup was rich. The ice cream added a creamy texture, making it a popular choice. Starting from yesterday, they have a new menu, muscat grape shaved ice available until 9/22. The period is short, so hurry up! During the shaved ice period, they will not be serving lunch. I really wanted to eat peach shaved ice, so I did some research and found out that this place was famous for it, so I decided to visit. It seemed like a reservation system where you have to sign up in the morning at 10 am to reserve a seat for a specific time slot. I had researched beforehand and arrived right at 10 am. I thought it wouldn't be too crowded on a weekday at a cafe in Gojo, but to my surprise, there was already a long line. I was starting to feel like it might be impossible to get in. It took a while, but I finally reached the end of the line. I was worried if I would even get a seat. Fortunately, I was able to sign up just in time and got a seat for 3 pm. If I had been a little later, I might not have been able to sign up. The popular sweets in Kyoto are truly amazing. I visited the shop at 3 pm. The inside of the shop was spacious and not as crowded as I had expected. I ordered the peach shaved ice with ice cream on top. It was served quickly after ordering. It wasn't as big as I thought, but it was easy to eat and the juicy peaches were irresistible. It was drizzled with plenty of condensed milk, so much that it pooled at the bottom of the bowl. I would recommend this sweet treat to anyone who loves sweet desserts. It may be a bit of a hassle to wait in line and all, but if you line up early enough, it's not too difficult. However, since it's in Gojo, it's a bit of a hassle to get around. It might be a nice memory of summer.

I visited a café. During the summer, they only serve shaved ice, and you can make a reservation by writing your name on a paper placed in front of the store from 10 a.m. On weekdays, the seats were full in less than an hour. I barely made it in time. The peach shaved ice was highly recommended, and I was very satisfied.

I visited this place after they switched to a reservation system from August 4th, making it easier to visit. I arrived 20 minutes early, but there was already a line forming, possibly due to the shop being closed and it being the Obon holiday. I walked from Shijo-Karasuma and it was getting pretty hot, making me crave shaved ice 100%! Most customers were ordering the Peach shaved ice with vanilla ice cream topping. I also ordered the same: Peach shaved ice with vanilla ice cream topping for ¥1650. The shaved ice arrived with lots of sliced peaches, peach sauce, and vanilla ice cream on top. It looked so delicious from the start. The peach sauce was abundant and incredibly tasty. Even as the ice started to melt towards the end, it remained delicious. The peaches were sweet and soft, and the vanilla ice cream was rich and flavorful. Despite being shaved ice, you could enjoy plenty of peaches, making it very satisfying. This shaved ice is gaining even more popularity this year, and it's no wonder why! I left the shop feeling happy and refreshed as the weather cooled down. If you plan to line up before the 10:00 reservation time, be prepared for the hot hallway and bring cooling items like a handheld fan to endure the heat.

The peach shaved ice costs ¥1500, with an additional ¥150 for ice cream topping. They operate on a reservation system starting from 10 am, but when I arrived around 9:20 am, there were already about 20 groups waiting in line to make a reservation. The line quickly grew longer around 9:30 am, so it was a close call. The peach shaved ice had a generous portion and was delicious. I definitely want to try it again next year.

The peach sauce was exquisite! It had lots of peaches in it and was very luxurious. Despite waiting in line for an hour and a half in the heat, it was definitely worth it! I heard they started taking reservations, so I plan to make a reservation before going next year. It was so delicious that I will definitely go back again!

I arrived shortly before the store opened, but there was a long line! I waited for about an hour, but it was worth it because the peach-flavored shaved ice with syrup was incredibly delicious (*´`). My mother tried the Uji Kinjito, but it was bitter and had a strong astringency, so this place is definitely recommended as the best choice recently!

I visited because I wanted to eat peach shaved ice! I arrived around noon and there were already 2-3 groups lined up in front of me. The shop is indoors in a building, so there was no need to wait under the scorching sun. I had peach milk with ice topping, and the ice was really delicious. I would love to go back when summer ends and they start selling taiyaki.

I was drawn to the peach shaved ice and decided to visit the shop. You can also add vanilla ice cream on top. It is limited in quantity, but when I called in the evening to confirm, they still had some left, so I went. It was delicious, but the peach, ice, and shiratama (rice flour dumplings) each tasted good on their own, so the overall combination didn't stand out as particularly delicious.

I decided to visit the restaurant after seeing the menu posted on Instagram, which featured Kasujiru (sake lees soup).
- Seating: The restaurant has both counter and table seats, making it easy for solo diners.
- Menu: Lunch is available, including An Butter Toast, and from 2 pm you can also order or take out Taiyaki. In the summer, shaved ice is popular.
- Ordering: When you sit down, a staff member will come to take your order.
- Ordered: I had the daily lunch set for 900 yen. Unfortunately, I couldn't order the Strawberry An Butter Toast I wanted due to snow conditions.
- Impressions: The Kasujiru was simple and warmed me up nicely. The tempura was crispy and delicious, and the chicken breast salad balanced out the meal nicely.

I felt like having taiyaki for the first time in a while, so I visited at 2:30 on Saturday. Please note that you can only order taiyaki after 2 o'clock. I wanted a proper knife and fork, but then I realized that since it's taiyaki, I could just eat it with my hands (I ate it that way last time). The lunch menu until 2 o'clock also looks pretty good, so I'd like to come back and try that as well.

I went around 2 o'clock. I was there for the taiyaki. The interior of the shop was stylish and lovely, and I had the place to myself. It seemed like I visited during a time when only one person was running the place, as the dishes were left in various places after eating. I ordered taiyaki and coffee. I chose the flavors of red bean paste and cream cheese. The combination of red bean paste and cheese was amazing. It was a blissful time. The atmosphere was cozy and I ended up staying longer than I planned.

I always look forward to the daily specials at this place in Kyoto. The entrance is a bit hard to find, but once you climb the stairs and turn left, the interior and atmosphere are lovely. I especially like the open kitchen illuminated by soft lighting. My favorite spot to sit is under a large branch that adds to the ambiance. The food comes out relatively quickly and the portion size is satisfying for a woman. The daily set meals are well-balanced and delicious. If you arrive after 1:30, the price increases by 50 yen. The taiyaki and kakigori look delicious too.

Today, I visited a popular taiyaki shop in Gojo-Shinmachi. The shop is located on the second floor of a building called "Tsukuru Building" which houses a cafe, atelier, and shared space. The shop is known as "Marni Cafe Atelier" and is easily identifiable by the sign on Shinmachi Street. The interior of the shop has an open and stylish atmosphere, with large tree branches as decorations. The popular taiyaki can be ordered starting from 2 p.m. I ordered a drink along with it:
- Homemade Honey Lemon (Soda Mix): A refreshing lemon drink that was not too sweet, perfect for the summer.
- Marni Taiyaki (with ice cream): A large taiyaki with wings, filled with large grains of red bean paste. It was served hot and fresh, with butter and cream on the side. I added ice cream on top, which complemented the flavors well. Enjoying the warm taiyaki with melted butter, along with the ice cream and cream, was a delightful experience.
Overall, I enjoyed the popular taiyaki in a relaxed cafe setting. The total cost for the taiyaki and drink was around 1,000 yen, making it an affordable and enjoyable treat.

This is a shop located in the northern corner of Gojo Shimmachi. It's very convenient to have takeout options during the ongoing self-restraint due to the coronavirus. They even accept same-day orders, which is very helpful. I also bought the popular taiyaki (400 yen). The bentos have a natural and delicious taste. I could eat them every day. I plan to order again. Bento box ¥1500 <Contents> Grilled salmon and shiso with black rice Chicken, eggplant, and thick fried tofu in teriyaki sauce Plump shrimp with lemon mayo sauce Chinese namul with spring cabbage and whitebait Flavored egg Purple cabbage, carrot, and walnut slaw Beet and new potato salad Colorful vegetable side dish

I visited around 12:00 on Sunday. It was quite busy, and I was able to sit at the large shared table in the back.
- Daily special for 950 yen:
The chicken hamburger sauce had a wine flavor and was delicious. The chicken hamburger was easy to cut into with chopsticks.
- Wakame soup:
A unique wakame soup with tempura crumbs in it.
- Salad:
Colorful salad with carrots, seemed nutritious.
Taiyaki sweets were available from 14:00, so I will come back. Sweet potato cream cheese and chocolate banana flavors looked delicious.

This was my first visit. I ordered the daily special for lunch. Unfortunately, the egg sandwich I was hoping for was not available, but the daily special chicken meatballs were gentle and delicious. The multigrain rice was a bit firm, which I liked. It was a shame that I couldn't order the taiyaki from 2 p.m., so I would like to visit this restaurant again. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the daily lunch special for ¥900, which included a variety of side dishes, rice, salad, and miso soup. There were two options available, and I chose the chicken tempura. The portion sizes were generous, and the rice serving was decent. The chicken tempura was tender, and the eggplant tempura was delicious with grated daikon on top. The salad was fresh and crispy, and the miso soup was tasty. I also ordered a hot coffee for ¥400 (¥200 off when ordered with a rice menu), and I could hear the sound of coffee beans being ground. I'm interested in trying the omurice, curry, and onigiri lunch set for ¥700. The restaurant, located on the second floor of a building where creators gather, has a unique atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.
