I visited for dinner. It's right by Kikukawa Station. I was torn between the drinking set and the sweet and sour pork set, but I ordered the sweet and sour pork set. It has a welcoming atmosphere for solo diners, and you can get a refill of rice once. The flavors are solid and go well with the rice. The prices are reasonable and it's a user-friendly restaurant.

I visited on a regular night. It is a Chinese restaurant near the station. It is a store in Sumida Ward that applies the PayPay reduction. The inside of the store is somewhat spacious. The seat spacing is normal. All the staff members are wearing masks. I mainly had the following dishes as a set with alcohol: - Grilled dumplings - Fried chicken - Spring rolls - Stir-fried kikurage, eggs, and pork - Mapo tofu - Char siu fried rice - Spicy Sichuan noodles At first, I had some dishes that were not spicy and thought they were okay, but I was surprised when the mapo tofu arrived. As someone who likes spicy food to some extent, I found the perfect level of spiciness very enjoyable. The hot and bubbling sauce in the pot added to the spiciness and deliciousness. I noticed from the posters in the store that they promote spicy dishes. It seems they specialize in Sichuan cuisine, which makes sense. I wish I had tried spicy dishes earlier. The mini spicy Sichuan noodles that came afterwards confirmed this. The noodles had a good balance of spiciness, umami, and oiliness, making them very delicious. The choice of spicy Sichuan noodles was a great decision. I was able to enjoy the authentic taste I was looking for. The char siu fried rice that came with the noodles was also to my liking. It had a slightly oily texture, but it was flavorful and had plenty of ingredients. The portion size was also generous for a set. I particularly liked the combination of noodles and fried rice in the set. You can order it even at night, and I think it was around 880 yen. Considering that there are restaurants where you can get just fried rice for this price, the taste and value seem reasonable. Next time, I will try more spicy dishes.

This is a Chinese restaurant run by a Chinese couple. It's a little before 7:00 PM, and there is only one customer so far. The cold noodles dish is like a salad with lots of lettuce. The ingredients include cucumber, lettuce, tomato, steamed chicken, shredded egg, and boiled egg. The noodles are thin and the portion is generous. In the downtown area, there seems to be a tendency for noodles to have larger portions compared to the city center. The soup had a unique taste with a topping of grated radish and ponzu sauce, which I found a bit strange at first, but ended up enjoying.

The menu is extensive, delicious, and most importantly, affordable! In particular, the spicy (I forgot the name) squid tentacles and stir-fried celery with a kick of sansho pepper and chili were great. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is relaxing and spacious. I will definitely visit again!

After finishing work around late night past 11 PM, I stopped by a restaurant on my way home for dinner. The place was quite lively, with some drunk customers as well. The menu offered reasonably priced set meals with generous portions. I ordered a large portion of Chinese rice bowl. The set meals came with free rice refills, and in the case of the Chinese rice bowl, a large portion of rice was also free. The slightly rich flavor of the dish paired well with the rice, and it was quite filling and delicious. The set meal also included salad, side dishes, and soup, making it a satisfyingly large meal. When you're really hungry, being able to fill up on tasty Chinese food at a low price is much appreciated.

I misunderstood the name of the restaurant. It has been around for a while. I was interested in the fried rice, but to be honest, it was not very good and cheap. Maybe it was because I ordered a set, but other Chinese dishes might be better.

I visited the restaurant on Saturday at 2 PM. There was only one other group of customers. I ordered the oil-splashed chicken. The meat is thinly sliced, but even so, the crispy texture of the coating is great! And the portion size is impressive! It also comes with a side dish, all for 780 yen, which is a great value for money.

Finally, alcohol was allowed again, so I went to have some beer and gyoza. The gyoza with a spicy kick of Sichuan pepper was amazing! - Background for choosing this restaurant: Dinner on a weekday. - Location: 1 minute walk from Kikukawa Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. - Food: Mapo tofu, Steamed chicken with scallion sauce, Sweet and sour pork, Grilled gyoza, Draft beer, Oolong highball. - Visit date and time: Around 8:00 PM on a weekday, about 60% of the seats were occupied. - Service: - Ordering: Directly to the staff. - Seating: 36 seats with 4-person tables x 5, 4-person raised seating x 4. - Cleanliness: Standard for a Chinese restaurant. - Chopsticks: Eco-friendly. - Staff: Chinese staff with good Japanese communication skills and thoughtful service. - Table condiments: Vinegar, pepper, soy sauce, chili oil. - Taste: - Grilled gyoza: Large, hand-wrapped gyoza with moist filling and thick skin, almost like a main dish. - Mapo tofu: Served in a bubbling hot pot with a spicy Sichuan pepper flavor, offering both heat and numbing sensation. Would be delicious over rice. - Sweet and sour pork: A delicious dish with well-cooked vegetables and tender meat. Perfect as a beer snack or rice dish. - Steamed chicken with scallion sauce: Simple yet delicious dish of steamed chicken topped with oil-blistered scallions. Will definitely order again next time!

Visited a Chinese restaurant near Kikugawa Station again. This time I tried the daily special steamed chicken with leek sauce for 750 yen. It had a lot of vegetables and meat. The taste was okay, as expected, so I added some chili oil halfway through to give it a bit of a kick. I also decided to add 5 water dumplings for an extra 200 yen, but they were a bit heavy as they had thick and chewy skins. They came with a simple soy sauce-based dipping sauce, which was not spicy. I forgot to take a photo until I had already eaten half of it. It seems like the Sichuan-style stir-fried chicken is popular among other customers. I would like to try a spicy dish if I have the chance. It would be nice if they had a more unique chili oil on the table with more heat and numbing sensation. They accept PayPay as a payment method.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. It was so good that I am now curious to try their dinner menu as well. Background for choosing this restaurant: I visited for lunch on a weekday. Location: 1 minute walk from Kikukawa Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. What I ordered: Ginger pork set meal (680 yen) with free refills for rice and soup. Visit date and time: Around 1:30 PM on a weekday. The restaurant was about 30% full. Service: - Ordering: Directly to the staff. - Seating: 36 seats with 4-person tables x 5, 4-person raised tatami seating x 4. - Cleanliness: Standard for a Chinese restaurant. - Chopsticks: Eco-friendly. - Staff: Chinese staff with good Japanese communication skills and excellent service. - Table condiments: Vinegar, pepper, soy sauce, chili oil. Taste: The ginger pork for 680 yen was surprisingly generous in portion. The meat and vegetables marinated in ginger sauce were quickly stir-fried and served, so the wait time was short. It was delicious to eat with rice or wrapped in the leafy greens provided. Rice and soup: Refills were available. The rice and soup were served piping hot, which was greatly appreciated. Mini salad: The mini salad mainly consisted of shredded cabbage with a generous amount of South Island dressing. It was nice to have some fresh vegetables included. Almond jelly dessert: For 680 yen, the meal also came with almond jelly dessert. It was delicious with a light texture.

Chikukawa Station is a Chinese restaurant that is directly connected to the exit. It used to be called "Aroma Spring" but has been renewed with a new name. Set meals start at 680 yen including tax. They have a good selection of classic dishes, and the set meals come with white rice instead of half fried rice. Although it's not specified, it seems to be Sichuan-style. The tantanmen looked very red and spicy for this type of Chinese restaurant. I decided to go for the meat and vegetable stir-fry set meal for 680 yen as I felt like something refreshing even though I was in a Chinese restaurant. You can pay with PayPay. The meat and vegetable stir-fry had a lot of bean sprouts and shredded cabbage, with less meat but still a good portion size. The taste was average. It also came with shredded cabbage salad, egg soup, a pineapple dessert, and a spicy sesame oil-flavored tofu topped with a spicy sauce. The rice portion was generous. The portion size was good and the cost performance was okay. The taste was average, but I might consider revisiting to try their spicy dishes if I have the chance.

Ikoma Nakan is closed today, so I came here. I ordered fried rice by itself. It was delicious. The staff are Chinese and working hard. The set menu options are very affordable and have a wide variety. There were only three other groups in the restaurant.

"Hoikoro set meal for 680 yen, 5 gyoza for 200 yen, and cola for 200 yen. Reasonably priced, good portion size, and delicious! Next time, I want to try the yurinchi set meal for 780 yen."

Chikugawa Station is the closest to a Chinese restaurant with an Asian atmosphere. They have cheap alcohol, with draft beer for 300 yen and selected sours for 200 yen. Plus, they are participating in the PayPay coupon festival with a 20% cashback offer. I went with my boss, and although the food was just typical Chinese cuisine, the service included free peanuts with the skins on and the friendly Chinese staff even said "thank you" in Chinese when we used the coupon. They have private seating areas where you can relax and drink slowly, making it a great place for small group gatherings.
