Located in a great location just a short walk from Hankyu Kawaramachi Station, "Tenshin Ranman Kawaramachi" is a hidden gem of reasonably priced and delicious restaurants on the south side of Shijo Kawaramachi, which is usually crowded with people. We decided to sit on the second floor, where there are table seats, to try their signature gemstone hot pot. When the collagen jelly-filled pot arrived, it looked beautiful and sparkling, truly resembling a gemstone pot. Under the jelly, there was seaweed hidden. We were surprised to see that the specially ordered natural crystal pot was placed directly over the fire. This crystal pot, even for two people, costs over 50,000 yen, making it quite expensive. The crystal has detoxifying effects and when heated, it emits a large amount of "far infrared rays," which have purifying effects and can break down and remove any impurities or odors from the ingredients. Additionally, seaweed is a nutrient-rich ingredient containing protein, vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, while being low in calories. It also has detoxifying effects, making it a great addition to the hot pot. As the pot boiled and the jelly melted into a delicious soup, we enjoyed the pork shabu-shabu. I particularly loved the seaweed, so just adding it to the pot made it very tasty! The sauces, including Moon-viewing Tororo Sauce and Special Ponzu, were also unique and delicious. The dish includes high-quality hormone meat such as hoso (thinly sliced meat), suji kalbi (beef ribs), and pork loin, along with plenty of vegetables like bean sprouts, carrots, cabbage, onions, garlic, and chives. The hormone meat was of excellent quality and had just the right amount of flavor. We paired it with the Chita-style Highball, which complemented the dish perfectly. The view from the window overlooking the Takase River and the traditional Kyoto scenery was delightful. Especially during cherry blossom season, it must be beautiful. In addition to the great location, the staff at the restaurant were friendly and welcoming. This is a wonderful restaurant that I would love to visit regularly.

The two-story interior has a counter on the first floor and table seats on the second floor, with the window seats offering a great location. This time, I was seated at a window seat, and my main target was the "Jewel Pot" that I had seen on social media. It is a "beauty and health shabu-shabu" where you enjoy vegetables and meat in a crystal collagen-rich seaweed dashi. What I ordered: - Jewel Pot: Inside the transparent crystal, there is a jiggly jelly and plenty of seaweed in a refreshing seaweed dashi. When heated, the jelly melts more and more, creating an irresistible aroma of seaweed. Adding vegetables and pork to the strong broth transforms the dish, and the pork and vegetables wrapped in seaweed are incredibly delicious. They are enjoyed with two types of dipping sauces - "Tsukimi Tororo" sauce and special ponzu sauce. The Tsukimi Tororo sauce was so delicious that I almost cried. Gemstone hot pot! What a wonderful name it has. I've been curious about it for a while, so I went to try it out. Look at this! It's so bouncy and looks like it must be good for the body! First time at this restaurant. Ordered the Chiritori-yaki, Potato Salad, and Beef Tendon with grated radish. The Chiritori-yaki is the second most popular dish, with the first being the Crystal Hot Pot. The Potato Salad is offered at a low price of under 100 yen. It comes in a small dish, making it a perfect size for one person. The Chiritori-yaki contains beef, pork, and offal, and has a rich flavor that goes well with rice and drinks. If I had more room, I would have liked to have rice or noodles as a finishing touch.

This time, I tried the restaurant's specialty Crystal Hot Pot. At first, I was wondering what "crystal" meant, but it turns out the pot itself is made of crystal. Once the jelly melts and starts boiling, you can start enjoying the shabu-shabu with Kagoshima pork from the foothills of Kirishima, dipping it in two types of sauces: Moon-viewing grated yam sauce and special ponzu sauce. While it's recommended to eat the meat with grated yam sauce and vegetables with ponzu sauce, the yam sauce was so delicious that I ended up eating the vegetables with it as well. The portion size is quite satisfying for one person, and the finishing touch is also impressive. They serve Ibo-no-ito noodles and barley rice as a set for the end. First, lightly boil the noodles and enjoy them with grated yam sauce, then generously pour the leftover yam sauce on the barley rice to fully savor the yam until the end. At first, I thought the Crystal Hot Pot was all about the appearance, but after tasting it, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion and delicious flavors. Additionally, for lunch, you can enjoy the regular hot pot with free refills of barley rice and side dishes included, making it quite a good deal. In May, they offer a variety of dishes for lunch, including pike conger eel and Kyoto vegetables. By the way, the seat I sat in by the river is a popular spot that requires reservation by phone, offering a great view of cherry blossoms in full bloom in spring and snow-covered scenery in winter. I had a great meal at the popular restaurant "Shokudo Miyazaki" in Kiyamachi for my third stop on my Kyoto walk. As I was walking towards the station after enjoying my meal, I noticed that a former yakiniku restaurant had been renovated. I was approached by the manager, who informed me about the new recommended menu at this restaurant, so I decided to check it out as my third stop. We started with a highball toast, and I was already quite tipsy at this point, so I forgot to take photos until then. The manager recommended the "Aosa seaweed" hot pot, which was served in a crystal pot made of transparent crystal. The hot pot was filled with aosa seaweed covering the entire surface, along with pork and vegetables for shabu-shabu. The aroma of the seaweed infused the ingredients in the pot, creating a delightful flavor and fragrance. I was told that the crystal pot has a purification effect and can enhance positive energy, so I enjoyed the meal while savoring the soup as well. The restaurant was lively with many young customers, creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere. First, we ordered four types of offal, beef tendon, oyster oil, and yam dumplings. The yam had a mysterious texture that was hard to describe. We also ordered kimchi and cod crystal hot pot, which was delicious even though they forgot to add seaweed. Additionally, we ordered cod and cod roe crystal hot pot, which was also delicious. The moon-viewing yam sauce was incredibly tasty. The kimchi crystal hot pot is 3200 yen and the cod and cod roe crystal hot pot is 3300 yen for two servings each, so it's quite affordable. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

The clams are firm and match well with the kimchi broth. Before finishing, I recommend trying the soup again as the flavors of the ingredients have melded and become incredibly delicious. For the finish, order the udon noodles! I've never seen such clear and chewy noodles before, a new texture that is delicious. Topping it with an egg makes it mellow, and I ended up drinking the soup until the last drop.

I ordered the crystal hot pot course. It came with 4 types of Kyoto obanzai and Kyoto oden, and they were delicious. The crystal hot pot had plenty of seaweed in it, and you dip vegetables and pork in two special sauces, both of which were very tasty. The leftover grated yam sauce can be poured over the final barley rice or used as a dipping sauce for somen noodles, which was also very delicious. I was very full after the meal.

I had the "Jewel Hot Pot" here. The first hot pot of the year was like a sparkling jewel with plenty of collagen-rich jelly broth for smooth skin! It's great for women to be able to enjoy delicious food and beautiful skin at the same time. You can also enjoy watching the jelly melt. The pork shabu-shabu with seaweed was delicious. The moon-viewing grated yam sauce was tasty, and I could eat as much meat as I wanted. The special ponzu sauce was also delicious, and I enjoyed changing the flavors. The finishing somen noodles were excellent. I also tried the new menu item, "Salt Chiritori Rice Pot," which was healthy with plenty of vegetables and chicken. The salt-based broth was light but had a rich flavor that paired well with the vegetables and chicken. It was very satisfying. I was surprised to find such a wonderful restaurant just a 2-minute walk from Kawaramachi Station. They are open for lunch, making it perfect for a girls' night out. ❤️

The sparkling jewel-like jellied broth is full of collagen! Warm up with the jewel pot♪♪ Sparkling and bouncy♪ Just one look and you'll be intrigued by the jewel pot. The sparkling substance turns into jelly-like broth when heated, resembling the surface of water. When you cook pork shabu-shabu in it, the flavor mixes with the delicious green algae and further enhances the experience when combined with moon-viewing grated yam. Then, enjoy wrapping the meat and vegetables in ponzu sauce for a refreshing taste. The finishing cold noodles are also exquisite! The soup made from green algae, vegetables, and meat pairs perfectly with the noodles. The first floor has counter seats for solo diners, while the second floor offers tables with a view of beautiful scenery during cherry blossom season.

I went to the izakaya "Tenshinranman" in Kawaramachi, Kyoto! I tried the crystal hot pot with pork shabu-shabu (one serving for 2900 yen) and the chiritoryaki (one serving for 1800 yen)! The crystal hot pot was filled with plenty of aosa seaweed, and eating it with the pork was amazing! The pork dipped in the tsukimi tororo sauce was exquisite! The chiritoryaki was also very filling, with beef tendons, kalbi, pork loin, bean sprouts, carrots, cabbage, garlic, and chives inside. The kabura steamed dish at the end, which you can get by making a reservation through Tabelog, had a warm and gentle taste that was perfect! This is a great place for this season, so I highly recommend it for gatherings and drinking parties!
