Visited on a Sunday night. Two days in a row of drinking after the horse races. Today was the Emperor's Cup Spring. While sipping on Koiwai's good day, I ordered dishes such as pickled Chinese cabbage and seaweed with soy sauce, nibbling on them slowly. It's very convenient when a restaurant offers a starter dish as part of the course. The lineup included soybeans in soy sauce, marinated horse mackerel, miso stewed in ginpo, lightly pickled tomatoes, grated whitebait, and beef simmered in soy sauce. I also added Kumezakura in the middle. I was hesitant about ordering the bamboo shoot and century egg salad, but since it was recommended, I decided to try it. The sweetness of the bamboo shoot and the richness of the century egg complemented each other well. I also ordered Gunma Izumi. Next up was the beef sinew curry stew. I couldn't resist ordering it when I saw the word "curry." The curry flavor wasn't too strong, so it didn't overpower the aroma of the sake. The chickpeas in it were a nice touch. Grilled trout with shiso and miso-wrapped sea squirt is a must-try. Both were delicious, but the miso-wrapped sea squirt went particularly well with the sake. I paired it with Tenon's Mizumori, which had a pleasant full-bodied nuance. Finally, I had the beef and leaf garlic mixed noodles as the finishing touch. The beef, leaf garlic, and sauce were strong in flavor and packed a punch. I also added another glass of Hikoson at the end, but I forgot to take a picture. Thank you for the meal. With all this food and drinks, the bill came out to only 7700 yen, which is incredibly cheap. I would love to visit this restaurant again when I come back to Kyoto.

I recently organized a small class reunion after a long time. Since we were a big group, I was worried about the chaos of ordering individual dishes, so I requested a set course menu (7,000 yen per person). The dishes that came out one after another were all delicious, and there were some unique dishes as well. However, we got so caught up in conversation that we couldn't really take the time to savor the food, which was a bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal today. Thank you very much!

All the dishes were decently tasty, but apart from the first dish, it took too long for the food to come out. Even though we had ordered everything at once, some of the dishes seemed to be pre-made and just needed to be plated (there were even photos). However, they were still served with intervals between each dish, so if you go there hungry, it could be a problem. I recommend going to this place as your second or third stop of the night.

The menu is full of unique options, making it hard to choose just one. However, the must-order items are the chef's choice appetizer platter and the fresh sea urchin. The menu changes with the seasons, so it's a place you'll want to visit every season. Reservations are a must as the restaurant fills up quickly as soon as it opens.

Had a casual drink at "Sashimi Sushi" in front of Nijo Castle Station in Kyoto ♬ After seeing the reviews on Tabelog, I couldn't help but make a reservation (≧∀≦) The "Uni" is small but made with delicious uni from Rishiri Island, it's exquisite! The "Sashimi Three Variety Platter" includes horse mackerel with plum soy sauce, bluefin tuna with salted kelp, and Pacific saury with kombu and shiso, all made with great care! The "Chef's Assorted Appetizers" includes soy beans in soy sauce, simmered cuttlefish, and fresh baby sardines in soy sauce, among other dishes, making it hard to stop drinking (lol). The "Squid with Natto Sauce," "Pickled Island Radish with Bonito Flakes," and "Spicy Eggplant" were all delicious. The aged sake "Juji Asahi" from Izumo City was the last drink, it's been over 10 years since I last had it! "Thank you for the feast ♬" Of course, I will definitely be coming back (≧∀≦)

"Zashiki Sushi" in Kyoto, located at Nijo Castle Station on the Tozai Subway Line, offers a platter of three kinds of sashimi, salt-grilled king salmon, mambo rolls (with tuna and cucumber), and a side dish of snap peas. They also serve Japanese sake. The dishes are all delicious, and the sake pairs well with them. It's a restaurant that makes you want to visit regularly. I especially want to buy the natto oil that was served with the tuna sashimi, and the thick and flavorful king salmon was also incredibly delicious.

No matter what you order, it's delicious. The dishes have a seasonal feel, are lightly seasoned, and really showcase the chef's skill! You can order a la carte and the prices are reasonable. The exterior looks like a typical izakaya, but Kyoto is truly deep. If there was a place like this nearby, I would definitely visit often. Last order is at 11pm. Due to COVID-19 measures, the entrance is open so it was a bit cold.

I visited the restaurant on a weeknight. It was late, but the place was almost full. Each dish had a unique touch, making the anticipation for the food even more enjoyable. They offer a wide variety of drinks, and their specialty, "Namida Uni," is a must-try dish.

I was taken to this restaurant by a friend who lives in Kyoto. As expected, locals know cheap and delicious places. The restaurant is small and has a nice atmosphere. The sashimi platter includes three types: tuna with green onion soy sauce, squid with natto sauce, and scallop with fresh seaweed and salt. The flavors were unique and perfect with drinks! They had a variety of sushi rolls, and I couldn't resist trying the overflowing sea urchin roll! I also had three types of rolls: live oyster, eel kabayaki, and sea bream. I also tried the fried tilefish and Jerusalem artichoke with coriander sauce, which were crispy and freshly fried. It's Japanese cuisine, but with many unique combinations that I haven't tried before, so I definitely want to go back. They have a counter, so I want to go alone too.

I became a big fan of the restaurant called Sashisu in Kyoto! It's a place that recommends warm sake, and all the dishes to go with the sake are delicious. I fell in love with the "Simmered Shrimp" that was included in the assorted dishes. The assorted dishes with 6 varieties are so voluminous and only 1500 yen. I also got hooked on the "Natto Oil Roll"! I couldn't resist buying the natto oil. The "Tears Sea Urchin" is also a great deal at 2200 yen considering the recent skyrocketing prices of sea urchin. I had a hard time keeping up with how fast the sake was going down. #KyotoGourmet #DeliciousDishes #PopularRestaurant #WarmSake

A sushi izakaya tucked away in a corner of Nijo. Bamboo shoots and warabi fern miso sauce! Three kinds of sashimi with mountain vegetables and sesame dressing, with variations like garlic chives soy sauce and soy sauce koji, all served in thick slices! Freshly seared bonito! White fish sashimi with chopped garlic chives and onsen tamago, grilled sea bream with scallion salt sauce served piping hot, spring roll with firefly squid, simmered chicken thigh with a flavor reminiscent of simmered pork, offering a perfect balance of tender chicken and sweetness, a must-try "uni tears roll" featuring high-quality uni on top. Also, a unique creation - natto oil roll. A roll of bonito tataki coated with bonito flakes, and to end it all, a noodle dish with red miso and onion broth. The onion broth gives a sweet and creamy touch. Indulge in food and get tipsy!

The dishes at this restaurant bring out the deliciousness of seasonal ingredients, making you truly feel that they are "delicious". The atmosphere inside is calm, with a counter where you can dine alone. I am a repeat customer. It is a perfect place to invite your boss or bring elderly people, with both the taste and atmosphere being ideal. Above all, each dish is made with care, and the combination of ingredients is well thought out, making the meal enjoyable as you discover new pairings.

We made a reservation for 5 people and went to the restaurant. The restaurant had a private tatami room in the back, a counter, and two tables for 4 people each. The food was delicious and we could eat as much as we wanted. The alcohol kept coming and the sake was recommended to us, which had stylish labels and was rare. The dishes were also lovely. The staff were friendly and we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much. We had sake, glass wine, beer, soft drinks, and drank quite a lot, but it was wallet-friendly at only 4,700 yen per person. I would love to visit again when I go to Kyoto.

Seventh stop of cherry blossom viewing. Found a sushi restaurant near a beautiful corner that I had wanted to visit for a while, where I enjoyed sushi with hot sake. I thought it would be impossible during the cherry blossom season, but surprisingly, we found an empty room in the back. We went in and had a great time with sashimi, sushi, and some drinks that I can't remember due to drinking too much. It was a shame that I overdid it. However, my friends were satisfied, so it was all good. We made a detour to Okane Shrine, which has been frequently featured in the media recently. Here, my memory suddenly came back as I saw many ema (wooden wishing plaques) filled with wishes related to money. The most surprising one was a wish for the husband to die so that the life insurance would come in. It was as shocking as when I encountered someone doing the Ushi no Koku Mairi ritual in Kifune. I will continue to earn money diligently and come back here sober.

A shop located about a 10-minute walk from Nijo Castle Station. I visited after being recommended by a junior colleague who said the appetizers and sake were delicious. We had a sashimi platter for 2000 yen, steamed asparagus with fish sauce and koji for 800 yen, assorted appetizers for 1200 yen, natto oil for 650 yen, and oyster tartar with parsley tartar and tartar sauce for 1200 yen. There are many types of sake available, and we had about 4 servings of the chef's choice. All the dishes were delicious, but the assorted appetizers are recommended as you can try a variety of dishes. The natto oil sushi roll is also delicious. It's recommended to order early as they may sell out. A great casual dining spot. I would like to visit again.

If you want to enjoy appetizers and drinks slowly, "Sasajishi" is a great place to go. The appetizer included mustard greens and seaweed tsukudani, which was surprisingly delicious and paired well with the drinks. The assorted sashimi and appetizer platter included wasabi marinated soy sauce mackerel, romaine lettuce with sesame vinegar dressing, soybeans with soy sauce, seasoned limpets, dried fish with cumin, duck breast, and more. Each dish complemented the sake perfectly, especially the sashimi which was enhanced by various seasonings and ingredients. The spring roll with cod milt, Kyoto carrots, and pepper was unique and tasty, although the cod milt inside was hot! The homemade oyster stir-fry with oysters and bean sprouts was delicious, with the bean sprouts adding a nice touch. To finish, the famous "Namida Maki" with sea urchin was a must-try. The sea urchin was sweet and plentiful, wrapped in crispy seaweed. We also ordered the "Natto Oil," which was a mystery at first but turned out to be natto wrapped in a thin roll with an oily texture, surprisingly tasty and a great accompaniment to drinks. Affordable, delicious, and great sake selection - a must-visit for sake lovers.
