Weekend Pepe Curry after 2 weeks. This time it's "Mean Molly" - a South Indian curry with plenty of coconut, yet a refreshing fish curry (stew?). Different from Thai coconut curries, it still has Pepe's usual kindness and lightness. Thanks to how they handle the salmon, there's no fishy smell at all, just the richness and aroma of the salmon. I wonder if adding potatoes is the owner's original idea, but it goes perfectly with the salmon. Once again, a delicious dish with a refreshing yet deep flavor.

Lately, my go-to dish on weekends has been the pepe curry. Today, the restaurant was already full when I arrived, but it wasn't noisy, and the atmosphere was nice. The curry of the day was the Original Chicken Curry, which consisted of Original Chicken and Cumin Rice for ¥1000. The perfect balance of spices, a slightly mild spiciness, and the rich flavor of the chicken all came together beautifully. The chopped ginger and kasuri methi topping added a great accent. Overall, the balance of flavors was amazing, and I enjoyed it very much. It seems like the recognition of pepe curry has been increasing lately, so making a reservation before visiting might be a good idea.

I went to Pepe's weekend limited curry for the third week in a row. This time, it was the Ebi Upkari curry from the Chettinad region in South India, which consists of shrimp in a salty broth served with cumin rice for 1000 yen. The Chettinad region is known for its abundant seafood due to its proximity to the sea, and this time it featured shrimp. The owner mentioned that they don't use a lot of spices, but the curry was still gentle yet spicy. Despite its light and refreshing taste, the umami and richness from the shrimp broth was unique and delicious. I enjoyed it very much. I wonder what kind of curry they will have next week!

Exploring the Sangenjaya Triangle Zone for the first time with a friend, we managed to get a table without a reservation, as there were just two seats available. The place seemed a bit intimidating at first, but once inside, we were greeted by a friendly owner and a welcoming atmosphere among the customers. Despite the area being known for drinking, we were surprised to find a diverse and creative food menu. The dishes were all unique and tempting, and what amazed us the most was the reasonable prices! From lotus root pickles to smoked cheese with onions, Thai curry spring rolls, and black truffle potatoes, each dish was carefully crafted and bursting with original flavors. The Thai curry spring rolls were particularly delicious and paired well with drinks. The smoked cheese with onions was a popular choice among other customers, and we could see why. We learned that the owner has a background in cooking, which explained the exceptional taste of the dishes. We started with bottled beer and then moved on to enjoy the owner's selection of natural Italian wines at a great price. It's rare to find a place in this area where you can enjoy both high-quality food and drinks like this. We definitely plan to visit again.

Here we are again at the Sangenjaya Triangle Area, with pepe's weekend limited curry. Today's special is "Whitebait Curry" with cumin rice, accompanied by cabbage achar and the usual pickled ginger chutney. The curry is mild with the umami and fragrance of whitebait, complemented by gentle spices. The cabbage achar is also delicious. According to the owner, this curry is made in the Malabar style, not just a random creation but based on authentic Indian curry. Looking forward to next weekend's offering at pepe!

All the menu items are delicious, but the curry on weekends is especially tasty and highly recommended. The flavor changes every week, but it's always delicious. The pickled red ginger that comes with the rice is also amazing! It's the most delicious curry you can eat in Sangenjaya. It's a place where even women can enjoy a meal alone comfortably. The atmosphere inside is calm, and the owner is easy to talk to, making it a cozy place to dine.

A small shop located in the Sanpo Sanjaku area. I recently visited the rumored pepe's weekend-only curry. Today's curry was Kashmir curry with cumin rice for ¥1000, and it came with an original red ginger chutney (a perfect harmony of red ginger and coconut, I wish they sold this separately). The curry had a refreshing spiciness with a deep flavor enhanced by the gentle chicken broth. Everything seemed to be made with great care. It stands out from the creative curries that have become popular around Shimokitazawa, with a unique dish that doesn't try too hard to be different. I enjoyed it and left completely satisfied. They offer a different curry every weekend, so I will definitely visit again. The owner also seems to have a deep knowledge of natural Italian wines, so be sure to give them a try.

This weekend, I tried the PePe Curry again. I had the Kashmir Chicken and Cumin Rice for 1,000 yen. It was my first time trying Kashmir curry. It had chunks of vegetables, including potatoes, and a unique dark sauce. It is generally known as a very spicy curry, but this one had a good balance of chicken broth flavor and spiciness. The slightly bitter taste was a nice accent to bring out the sweetness of the vegetables. The pickled ginger topping paired perfectly with it! I finished it in no time. The wine that goes well with the curry is also delicious! They serve natural wines from Italy, so wine lovers should definitely try it! Thank you for another great meal this week.

Looking for weekend limited curry, I revisited PePe in Sangenjaya. They offer different curry every week, and this week's special was... "Amazing Shrimp Curry with Cumin Rice" for 1,000 yen. The name is so funny! From the first bite, you can taste the shrimp! It's really shrimp!! The broth is rich, but balanced with acidity, not too heavy and very delicious. Shrimp lovers will love this flavor. I'm curious about next week's curry! Thank you for the meal.

Located in one corner of the triangular area of Sangenjaya known for its deep drinking district, this bar-like establishment offers a wide selection of food along with drinks. I visited this place because I heard they serve delicious curry on weekends (Friday and Saturday) in limited quantities. Chicken Mapas and Cumin Rice for 1,000 yen. The fusion of refreshing taste and the gentleness of coconut milk! I've tried curry in the Sangenjaya area before, but this place offers a unique and original curry that you can't find elsewhere. The Cumin Rice was exceptional, with the fragrance of cumin and the firm texture complementing the light curry well. Additionally, the pickled red ginger for flavor enhancement was also amazing! I highly recommend this to curry lovers. It's very popular and often sells out, but all the other dishes are reasonably priced and delicious as well. Amidst the lively and youthful atmosphere of the surrounding bars, this place has a calm and welcoming ambiance that makes it easy for women to visit alone. I recommend it to women looking for a place to drink alone!!

A bar run by a former French cuisine chef. The black truffle fries have a wonderful aroma and are so delicious that they disappear in no time! The choice of background music is also great, making it even more enjoyable to drink. I will definitely go back!
