I was a bit nervous as I don't often go out to eat really spicy food, but the restaurant, which has only been open for a year, is still very clean and beautiful. The recommended dish here is the Sour Fish Soup, a dish with a soup filled with chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns, pickled vegetables called "suan cai," and white fish. You can choose the level of spiciness, so of course, I went for super spicy! The taste may not be familiar to Japanese people, but my taste buds were numbed by the intense spiciness, so I couldn't quite remember the flavor. Had a drinking party at "Chengdu Nü Sour Fish" in Takadanobaba, a Sichuan cuisine restaurant. Located on the 5th floor of a mixed-used building in front of the station. The clean interior was filled with Chinese people, probably just us Japanese. Orders were made through a tablet. Started with Qingdao beer after a long time. Cheers! I switched to highball later, which was surprisingly strong. I got quite drunk after just one glass (had a refill too). The cold dish of liver was amazing! Rich flavor, perfect for drinking. The signature dish, Sour Fish, wasn't too spicy, but the numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns was intense. I like it, but after a few bites, I couldn't handle it anymore and had to avoid the peppercorns. Not just spicy, but also full of the umami of pickled vegetables, very delicious. We shared 2 portions among 5 people, which was more than enough. It also looked beautiful. The century egg with quail eggs was unique. The chili snack was tasty, and it also helped with the numbness. The soy sauce-based potato stir-fry had a gentle flavor and was also delicious. To finish, they made fried rice at the table with a fun performance. Lots of oil was used to ignite it, resulting in a crispy surface. Since the portions were generous, the total cost was reasonable at 3,200 yen per person.

Located about a 2-minute walk from Waseda Exit of Takadanobaba Station, on the 5th floor of a building along Takadanobaba Station Street where restaurants like 1F Yakiniku Like and B1F Maguronchi are, there is a genuine Chinese restaurant. I revisited during lunchtime on a weekday. The interior is bright with a white-based atmosphere, and more customers were present compared to when it first opened, with over half of the seats occupied. Most of the customers were Chinese, as well as the staff. You can order using a tablet or by scanning a QR code with your smartphone, and if they see you're Japanese, the staff will switch the tablet to Japanese. The Chengdu Girl Set Meal tablet has lunch-like options. The main dish is rice with stir-fried food in a bamboo tube, and there are 18 spicy-looking dishes like Suan Cai Yu Mi Xian, Sichuan, and Chongqing. This time, I ordered the bamboo tube beef. Previously, there was a system where you could help yourself to 2-3 side dishes, but it seems to have been discontinued. The order was served in about 10 minutes. It came with egg soup, a spicy side dish (beware of cilantro), and a mini almond jelly. The bamboo tube was heavy and tall, and when mixed and eaten, the spiciness gradually kicked in. It was really spicy, with green and red chili peppers, and it made my tongue numb. With plenty of beef, vegetables, and rice, I was quite full. PayPay is accepted for payment. I noticed they lit a flame when serving the Yangzhou Fried Rice, so I'll try that next time.

The interior of the store has a modern Neo City vibe. It is clean and has sofa seats. As soon as you enter, you can smell the spiciness and numbing sensation. The hot and sour soup has a good depth of flavor. It is not monotonous like other similar soups, with the addition of glass noodles, pickled mustard greens, and radish. It goes well with rice or noodles. The fish is tender and flavorful, although the saltiness may be a bit strong. But when paired with rice, it blends perfectly. The spicy beef tendon is made with a lot of oil, which may be a matter of personal preference. The ambiance of the restaurant is also great. It's very trendy. Definitely worth a revisit.

I had a year-end party with my travel-loving friends at a serious Chinese restaurant! According to the organizer, it's a place highly recommended by Sichuan Youtuber Yanchang. The cost performance was amazing at 2,800 yen per person for eating and drinking, which was a big hit due to the large number of participants! The restaurant was bustling with young Chinese customers, almost all in their 20s, creating a lively atmosphere. Since it's been a while since the year-end party and I don't remember the exact names of the dishes we ordered, I compared the photos with the menu to list them accurately. The signature dish, "Special Sour Fish - Perch," was ordered by almost everyone. Not only did it look good in photos, but it was also really delicious. Other dishes we enjoyed included a special Sichuan-style assorted platter, spicy skewers, salted pork liver, and many more. The soup with perch was visually appealing and the liver was incredibly tasty, along with all the other dishes.

Pork liver Sichuan-style stir-fry set meal in Takadanobaba. Everyone, when you go up to the 3rd floor, there is a foreign country waiting for you up to the 5th floor. They speak Japanese too. It's a system where you order with your smartphone, but when I couldn't read my own (due to a malfunction), the staff lent me theirs. After the person next to me left, everyone started speaking Chinese. Really authentic Chinese. It arrived. Plenty of liver. The spiciness is also manageable. Delicious. Liver, onions, green peppers, garlic, and chili peppers. It's piping hot. It has Sichuan peppercorns in it. That's what Sichuan-style stir-fry is all about. It's easier to eat than the crawfish place. The soup is warm. Since it's spicy, warm soup is better. Thank you for the meal. It took a while even though it wasn't crowded, but it might be a hidden gem. They accept PayPay.

The restaurant itself is not very spacious, but it features a simple interior with a base of white and black, and a stylish modern Chinese atmosphere. Apart from the signature sour fish soup that you can drink, there are many other delicious authentic Sichuan dishes on the menu, so this time I deliberately ordered dishes other than the sour fish. [Appetizers] - Spicy marinated chicken gizzards - Assorted platter of beef, tofu, beef tripe, and pig tail in spicy sauce [Hot dishes] - Simmered bamboo shoots and beef shank in a tasty and spicy sauce. The beef shank is tender and juicy, and the crispy bamboo shoots are refreshing. - Sauteed frog legs in a tasty and spicy sauce. Delicious! Spicy! It is seasoned with plenty of fragrant spices such as ginger, garlic, Sichuan peppercorns, red and green chili peppers, providing a stimulating spiciness and deliciousness. Located just a 2-3 minute walk from Takadanobaba Station, on the 5th floor of a dining building where Yakiniku Like is on the 1st floor, is a newly opened Chinese restaurant called Chengdu Musume Suancai Yu. Upon entering the bright and newly opened restaurant, you'll notice many girls enjoying spicy dishes. The menu can be viewed and ordered using a tablet on the table, with options like stir-fried dishes in bamboo tubes, minced meat and eggplant stir-fry set, sour cabbage fish rice noodles, and dan dan noodles. I asked the staff for a non-spicy recommendation and decided on the bamboo tube chicken rice bowl. The dish was served with a tall bamboo tube filled with chicken on top and rice on the bottom. The chicken stir-fry had a unique Sichuan flavor without the spiciness, and the portion was generous. The meal also came with a dessert called bingfen, a jelly-like treat soaked in sweet black sugar syrup. My companion ordered dan dan noodles and minced meat and eggplant stir-fry, both of which were flavorful and filling. Overall, the experience left me wanting to come back and try more spicy dishes. Payment can be made with PayPay, and separate bills are accepted.
