The gentle sweetness of handmade ohagi, with a perfect balance of saltiness. The size is just right, not too big or too small. The rice part also has its own unique characteristics, which is interesting. Especially the nutty rice ohagi, with its crunchy nutty flavor and chewy mochi rice, was delicious and addictive! The black rice ohagi looked vibrant with the purple rice peeking out from under the sweet bean paste, and it had a nice accent to it, complementing the sweet bean paste well. Despite the cold weather, I had to give up on the soft serve ice cream I wanted and opted for the sweet red bean soup instead. I was able to choose my favorite sweet bean paste, and I went with the seasonal cherry blossom sweet bean paste. I was skeptical about cherry blossom sweet bean paste in sweet red bean soup, but it was like drinking a cherry blossom mochi, and it was surprisingly delicious. The plump red beans and the additional chewy white rice cake at the bottom made it enjoyable until the last drop. It was a moment of feeling spring in the snow.
