This is a shop that has been operating locally for about 30 years (if I remember correctly). Personally, I like their rice cakes and kudzu sweets. They are slightly soft, chewy, not too sweet, and have a taste that makes your heart feel soft. It's not stylish, and the service is not overly friendly. However, in the somewhat desolate Sakura shopping street, where the average income is not low and the residents have somewhat refined palates, there must be reasons why this shop has survived beyond its ratings on food review websites. It's a place with a delicious dish that you suddenly feel like eating.

I enjoyed some grass dumplings on a bench at this shop. The old man kindly wrapped them up, which warmed my heart. I will definitely come back to this place.

On September 22, 2015, after eating udon at Hocco for the first time, my husband and I visited a traditional Japanese sweets shop that he happened to stumble upon. The shop was located in a residential area, giving off an air of longevity and tradition. Although they had tempting products like mountain vegetable rice and inari sushi, we had just eaten udon so we resisted. We bought 3 pieces of mitarashi dango for 90 yen each, thinking of our son, and also the recommended warabi mochi for 500 yen, which both my husband and son enjoy. The old man at the shop generously filled an origami box with plenty of kinako for us. When we got home and tried the dango, we found the mochi to be a bit soft. The sauce was decent but not exceptional. Overall, it didn't perfectly match our tastes. The warabi mochi also seemed a bit loose. Perhaps the traditional sweets at this shop are generally made on the softer side. Since there was a lot of kinako left, I mixed it with black honey and Korean rice syrup to make a little treat. I hate to let anything go to waste. And that's how we finished all the kinako as well.
