From Higashi-yocho to Kiba, Strolling Around Part 54: For the working people who squeeze lunch into their limited lunch break, the taste of having a drink during the day is simply unbeatable. Of course, this is after taking a half day off. We visit a seafood bar in the Fukagawa Galleria dining district, which is operated by the company Cypress that manages numerous dining establishments. The goal is to go for the "light drinking set" option. You can choose one drink from the menu with a star symbol, along with a small appetizer, today's side dish, and today's special dish for 1000 yen plus tax. However, there is a pitfall from the start as the option for a Hoppy set is not available. So, inevitably, the most expensive draft beer (Asahi Super Dry) is chosen. The beer is served in a chilled glass, and it's a good choice for a summer day. The appetizer of the day is edamame, which is still slightly frozen. The small appetizer includes pieces of albacore, salmon, squid, bonito (tataki), and amberjack. The presentation looks good, and the freshness is satisfactory for the price. The bonito has a slightly fishy smell, but overall, there are no complaints about the quality. The special dish of the day is a fried white fish with cabbage on the side, and a small amount of tartar sauce. The taste is similar to a Filet-O-Fish, slightly watery but goes well with alcohol. An additional highball is ordered for 429 yen including tax, which is a bit pricey for alcohol. The total cost for the set and one drink is just over 1500 yen, paid with PayPay. While there are no major complaints, it would be nice to have an alternative to edamame for the small appetizer. Also, it turns out that the air conditioning in the restaurant is broken, but let's look on the bright side - it creates a perfect situation for enjoying the draft beer to the fullest.

Near Kiba Station, on the 2nd floor of Fukagawa Galleria, there is a bright and lively restaurant that gives off a good "THIS IS izakaya lunch" vibe. You can enjoy a variety of seafood bowls in a casual atmosphere. I felt that seafood and tempura go well together. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went on a regular night, and it was empty which was nice. The entire floor was empty. It seems that Komeda Coffee will be opening from February 1st, so maybe it will get busier then. They have Hoppy drinks, served in bottles with shochu inside and Hoppy outside, so you can tell it's not watered down. Especially with the shochu, it's just as it is without any tricks. The food is delicious, the service is moderately fast, and overall, it's a place where you can use regularly without any problems. It seems like only people who work nearby come here due to its location.

During a 1-night, 2-day business trip to Tokyo, I had work in Kiba in the morning, which I hadn't visited in a month. Last time, I had lunch at Fukagawa Gatheria, but this time I chose a different restaurant. There were many fish dishes on the menu, but I quickly decided on the large oyster fry set meal. I always order oyster fry when it's on the menu during this season because I feel like it's a dish that can only be enjoyed at this time. The oyster fry arrived promptly. It consisted of 4 large oysters from Hiroshima, each about 5-6 centimeters in size. Although I would have liked them to be a bit bigger since they were described as "large," I could still taste the delicious flavor of the oysters. I enjoyed the oyster fry with lemon, sauce, and tartar sauce to vary the flavors. The rice portion was generous. The miso soup had seaweed in it, fitting for a restaurant that focuses on fish dishes, and the gentle flavor was pleasing. This was my second oyster fry of the season, so perhaps my expectations were too high. There was a robot for serving dishes that I hadn't seen before, but the staff brought the food to me themselves. I would have liked to see the serving robot in action as well.

It's a strange time that's not quite lunch or dinner yet, but I'm feeling a bit hungry. I'm in the mood for Japanese food rather than Western, so I decided to go to this restaurant. They have different menus depending on whether it's a street-side, urban complex, or shopping center/outlet store. I always order the staff meal bowl here. It comes with a small portion of rice topped with tempura bits, pickled vegetables, shiso leaves, marinated sashimi, and a raw egg yolk that you mix all together. Today, I also added some spicy raw beef on top. It may look a bit messy, but everything tastes better when mixed together. They also provide a pitcher of barley tea with plenty of ice on the table, which is great on a hot day. This restaurant's appeal lies in its wide variety of menu options.

Indulgent seafood lunch with a beer in hand on a Sunday at Tsukiji Shokudou Genchan in Kiba. With the designated driver, my eldest son, I can enjoy a beer with my meal. As long as there's beer, any lunch option works for me! I had the luxurious seafood bowl with soy sauce, sesame dressing, and dashi for flavor variety, which paired perfectly with the beer. My wife had the oil-drizzled chicken set meal.

A great restaurant for everyday use. Even when not drinking, it's recommended. Many people order set meals and share them. The portions are generous and the cost performance is quite good. The spacious interior is perfect for relaxing and quietly drinking from early hours. Recommended onigiri! The onigiri are large. I forgot to take a picture, but they are plump and comforting. Also, the fried chicken is recommended.

The market-style cafeteria restaurant sometimes has a fishy smell that drifts outside, but on this day, it was not the case, and I was able to leisurely consider the menu at the storefront. The recommended dishes that stood out on this day were the grilled salmon head set meal with sashimi for ¥1000 (tax included) and the classic fried horse mackerel set meal for ¥990 (same). The grilled salmon head was fresh and cooked just right, with a satisfyingly large portion and delicious taste. The accompanying sashimi was freshly sliced with a good texture, and a few more slices would have been enough for a sashimi set meal. The horse mackerel fry was also generously sized, with two whole fish that were well-prepared and easy to eat without any bones left. The side salad and potato salad were refreshing and delicious. For lunch restaurants in Kiba Galleria, I occasionally visit places like Tonkatsu Sakura for pork cutlets, Jackson Farm for steak hamburgers, and Yamami for Hakata tempura. The variety of choices available is a good feature of this place.

I wandered around Kiba and got hungry, so I decided to stop by a seafood izakaya for lunch. The menu was extensive and reasonably priced. I chose the fried horse mackerel set meal with its attractive tail. Two pieces were served and they were piping hot. The crispy coating revealed a tender and thick fish inside. It was delicious, especially when eaten with tartar sauce or regular sauce. I was happy to see potato salad included. They also offer a large serving of rice. The spacious interior allowed me to enjoy my meal leisurely. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will definitely visit again.

I'm at the Galleria in Kiba. For some reason, I came from Tsukiji to Kiba and ended up at a restaurant in Tsukiji. I saw the sign for fried oyster set meal and felt like eating it, but there was a tonkatsu restaurant next to it. I was already set on fried oysters in my mind, so I didn't notice. It said "large fried oysters" on the sign, but it was just that the batter was thick. There was nothing particularly noteworthy. Thank you for the meal.

After work, I had dinner at a seafood restaurant in Galleria. I usually don't go to izakayas because I don't drink, but this place was recommended for its seafood bowls, which caught my interest as a fish lover. They don't charge for appetizers, which is considerate, and it's easy for families with children to enter. I was also intrigued by the salmon and salmon roe rice bowl for 1080 yen. The bowl was smaller than I expected, but it was well-balanced with small grains of salmon roe, thinly sliced salmon, vinegared rice, and shiso leaves. The part-time staff were attentive and had friendly smiles, making it a pleasant experience even for non-drinkers. It's rare to find a casual and quiet seafood izakaya like this. The atmosphere was unique to Galleria.

I have been to Minamoto-chan Shokudo in Ryogoku and I like the spacious tables where you can relax like a family restaurant. The seafood is delicious and offers a good value. I enjoyed the shirasu pizza, which paired perfectly with a dry zero. The garlic flavor along with shirasu, sakura shrimp, and cheese allowed me to get my calcium intake. I love to drizzle soy sauce on top when eating.

I have been here a few times before but couldn't find the store to write a review. Luckily, I found it this time so I will write about it. There are quite a few restaurants here. Even though it's only open for lunch, I am drawn to the lunch menu. If the amount of sashimi is generous, I would definitely come back again.

Food eaten: Fried oyster set meal 1,200 yen (tax included)
Impression: Neither good nor bad. The freshly fried oysters were good, but there was nothing particularly impressive about it. The rice was a standard large serving, but it didn't seem to be of high quality. It might be okay for a casual lunch rather than a special occasion.

We were persuaded by the children to eat out for dinner, so we decided to save money and look for a nearby restaurant. My wife had used this place with her mom friends before, and since there were many families with children, we decided to go there after sweating it out at badminton and feeling parched. The restaurant was not crowded, but there were a few families with kids, so it seemed to be doing decent business. The staff informed us that the food might take some time to be served, which made us a bit anxious. We wished they had told us when we made the reservation! So, we ordered a variety of dishes upfront, including sashimi platter, rice bowls for the kids, and agedashi tofu. But the serving time was not as slow as we had feared, so we were relieved. The rice bowls came with extra rice for free, so my second son, who loves rice, devoured his negitoro, maguro, and ikura rice bowl in no time (he tends to gain weight easily if he eats too fast). The sashimi platter, which was enough for 2-3 people, had sizable slices and was quite satisfying, and the hot dishes were served piping hot. Everyone got to eat what they wanted, drink plenty of juice and alcohol, and at 12,000 yen, we felt it was a good value for money. Since it's located in a shopping mall, we couldn't use the specialty street coupons, but we were glad to have found a convenient restaurant with good food.

Anyway, it's good to be able to drink cheaply here. But if you choose from the menu, you might be surprised at how delicious and satisfying the food is.

The service and taste have improved! The portions are still generous, so it's good value for money. Tuna avocado yukke, mackerel namero, enoki yukke, ham katsu - cheap and filling.

The restaurant is spacious and clean with a great atmosphere. The tuna minced meat was amazing! The salad was also cheap and very filling! I definitely want to go back to this izakaya again!
