Yurakucho yakitori restaurant. A popular place where you can enjoy delicious yakitori at a reasonable price. On this day, we decided to have a drink spontaneously without making a reservation at the restaurant, so we wandered around Yurakucho. We thought about going to Teppei, but when we casually opened the door of the restaurant, the first floor was full. They told us that the second floor was available, so we left the restaurant and went up the stairs next to the store. We ordered a draft beer as soon as we sat at the table. Cheers! We decided to go with a set of 7 skewers as our main dish. We also ordered grated radish and edamame on the side. Grated radish goes really well with yakitori, especially with sauce. The edamame arrived quickly, and we enjoyed them with our beer. The yakitori has arrived! First, 4 skewers: chicken wings, minced chicken with cod roe, chicken meatball, and chicken with leek. It was a spectacular sight to see 16 skewers neatly arranged on a large plate for 4 people. The minced chicken with cod roe and chicken with leek, grilled with sauce, tasted amazing when eaten with grated radish. The fatty chicken wings accelerated the beer consumption. The minced chicken with cod roe was also very delicious. The light chicken meat with a punch of cod roe made a nice combination. As we continued to enjoy our beer, the remaining 3 skewers arrived at the table. Pork belly wrapped in perilla, green pepper, and asparagus wrapped in bacon. This plate featured pork and rolls. The pork series was of course tasty. The green pepper was expected to be spicy, but they were all just normal in spiciness. Nevertheless, they served as a nice break from the meat. As my stomach started to fill up from the beer, I switched to shochu. I tried "Dassai Shochu," made by a well-known sake brewery. Oh, it has a unique flavor. This shochu has a strong taste, so it might be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of drink, but I personally liked it. We finished the set of 7 skewers, but I still felt like I could eat more. Or maybe I just wanted to drink more and needed some more food to go with it. We ordered Teppei fried chicken. It was spicy fried chicken made by cutting chicken thigh meat into easy-to-eat sizes and coating it with a firm batter. I switched back to beer and enjoyed it deliciously. A great restaurant with delicious food and drinks. However, the only downside is that smoking is allowed at the tables. Ashtrays are placed on all tables, so the restaurant tends to attract quite a few smokers. I wish they would make it a non-smoking place, then I would come here once a week. Thank you for the meal!
